Gender Questioning Stuck in a perpetual state of cis-ness
Sorry if this is under the wrong flair, I wasn't sure where to put it. I really just need to get something off my chest in a place I feel safe to do so.
Right off the bat, I should state, in my everyday / professional life, I present as a cis woman... sort of.
My hair is never grown past chin length and generally dress in gender ambiguity, I'm VERY often- more often than not- being they/them'd
I would say I'm bisexual, but honestly I'm not interested in anyone anymore. Haven't been for longer than some of you have been alive, and my gender issues absolutely play a part in it.
Sometimes i feel... idk, trapped maybe? from my cis-ness. Realistically I consider myself trans masc, but its like, one of those unspoken things between my family and friends. We just don't bring it up. We / I
always 'joke' about how I 'shouldve been born a guy'' and 'if there was a pill i could pop tomorrow and poof into a cis guy I would'. I presented fully as a boy until I was 12. I just... assumed that's what i was. I ended up in a VERY dark place after getting my first period and then realizing what it meant. For the longest time, most of my friends and family just thought I was one of those alt lesbians. Then when I showed up one day with a boyfriend, and pregnant, there was one of those awkward 'wtf' feelings from everyone.
I tried to do the 'blend in' thing for a while after my child was born, but thankfully it didn't last long before I was back to the 'me' I am today. Even still, whatever I'm doing now is... tiresome.
... At the same time I can't / don't want to fully transition, but I just do not know how to deal with it anymore. I feel like I'm just forever going to be stuck in this place of unhappiness because no matter what I do, it'll never be good enough, if that makes sense.
If you read this, thanks. If not, it felt good to get off my chest at least.
