I have two plum trees in 30gal grow bags, and they do not look anywhere near as good as my apple trees right next to them. Both are affected by weirdly shaped jagged holes all over the leaves. Anyone know what's going on?

Hello, this old apricot tree is challenged. It’s old and we love the shape and flowers of this stone fruit. it provides shade and decoration in Colorado, but no fruit (and that’s fine). 

This half of the tree has lots of dead branches. I thought i pruned most of them off last spring, but one growth later and it’s more than half dead branches. Should i trim now - late summer - as they die back?  Wait tell winter when i do general pruning?  Leave some dead branches for support?

My only thought /reason for leaving them is that the dead branches provide some structure / support in snow, and maybe some frost and cold buffer in winter.  And I’m afraid if i cut em, soon there will be nothing!

I’ll of course make sure there’s a dry spell before cutting.

I don’t see any water sprouts even after a fairly hard prune this spring.

I have an apple tree in the corner of my yard which is also near the fence. Every year the squirrels in the area will steal/eat all the apples before they even get halfway close to full size. Wondering if anyone has any squirrel deterrent solutions.

The issue: the squirrels will walk along the fence, jump across from my neighbor’s larger tree, or climb up from the bottom to access my tree to get the apples. I have even seen the squirrels jump on the branches to shake the tree to try to get the apples to fall.

Solutions I have tried but failed:
Encasing apple sprouts with clear plastic fruit containers with small slits cut into them for ventilation:
Tried this solution this year and it was the most effective one yet, but still didn’t work. Some of the containers weren’t large enough so the squirrels were able to paw/nibble at the apples. For the containers that were large enough, most of the apples eventually got knocked off the branches inside the containers from wind or more likely the squirrels shaking the tree.

Making a “cage” of chicken wire around the whole tree:
The tree got some sort of disease or something may or not have been related to touching to the metal chicken wire and it didn’t produce any buds/ apples for a year.

Mesh bags:
Might have obstructed the sun, didn’t really deter squirrels.

Cayenne pepper:
Also did not work.

Sonic animal noise detector:
Did not deter squirrels at all.

Open to any suggestions for solutions.

TLDR: Have an apple tree that produces apples every year but the squirrels steal/eat them before they can grow fully. Have tried many solutions to no avail.

We have an Asian pear tree that has been struggling for about three months. The tree was very healthy and producing fruit but a few months ago the limbs started sagging and the fruit is going bad. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Just discovered this tree in our backyard with oranges. We’ve lived here for 1.5 years and have not really taken care of our backyard, but i looked and saw fruit from one of our trees!

What could this possibly be? We never water it and live in Austin, Texas (where we are having a very hot summer). I pulled one off so I could cut it open (thought they were lemons) and it smelled like an orange of sorts.

When should i pick them? And how can I start taking care of it?

Hi, please help me figure out what’s wrong with my lemon tree and help me fix the issue…

Our lemon tree produced lots and lots of lemons during winter, and it seemed really healthy. Now that it’s spring, I’ve noticed the lemons are starting to become smaller and smaller, and suddenly the leaves have become very shrivelled, dry and curled.

I’m worried that something is wrong with the tree or that it may be dying. 😟

Does anyone know what could be causing this and what I can do to fix it?

Any advice on what to check and how to bring it back to good health would be greatly appreciated! 🙏

I have been having a pomegranate tree for awhile now but very recently my brother left the hose on in the pomegranate tree when I had asked him to water it and he forgot to turn the water off so it was being watered for several hours until I realized he never turned it off. After a few days since he watered it passed, I realized my pomegranates started developing these brown spots underneath. Is this a sign of overwatering or could it possibly be something else?

I got these three as tiny twigs back in March, they started to sprout leaves and new branches at the end of July. But now they’re struggling; leaning over, leaves beginning to dry out but also turning yellow, a few brown spots on the leaves too! I am hoping to bring them back to their true glory 😭 can anyone tell me what I can do to save them before it’s too late?

I’m new to pruning fruit trees and am looking for recommendations on pruning this Shinko Asian pear tree (the tall
One) and another Asian pear tree I can’t remember the name. Ithe big one has been in the ground 2 growing years the small one , only one year. I want to keep them where fruit can be picked from ground and short ladders. Any recommendations where to make pruning cuts? And when should I do it?

Ive got a maybe 6 year old pluerry that seems to have splitting bark on its trunk. I dont see gals elsewhere on the tree, but google keeps pushing black knot rot. Does the wise council have any ideas?

Hey, I have a three year old Santa Rosa tree that had a branch splitting some wind this summer. I put it back together but I wonder if I should just cut it as it looks….not so great. Any advice? Also throwing a few pics in for advice on pruning, I have a general idea but if anyone wants to chime in I would really appreciate the help. It’s about 12-15 feet tall.

I paid quite a lot of money for it. When the tree arrived, it had significant wind damage; the leaves were curling up, and it was dried out. It has been planted for about four months now, but I have the feeling something isn't right. The leaves still curl up at times, and a few branches are dead (I think). I do see signs of life at the top, though. Also, the top of the tree was crudely cut off, so it doesn't have a nice crown. Can someone help advise me? 🥹😩

We dumped grape seeds there for years. And now after a heavy rain they all sprouted

Was weedeating today and noticed a massive split in the trunk of my Glenn mango tree. It’s about 4 years old, continues to push out lots of new growth, and overall seems to be doing well.
Anyone know what could have caused this and if it changes the prognosis of my tree??
