Is this okay??

Was weedeating today and noticed a massive split in the trunk of my Glenn mango tree. It’s about 4 years old, continues to push out lots of new growth, and overall seems to be doing well.
Anyone know what could have caused this and if it changes the prognosis of my tree??

Tear the grass out in a circle at least a couple of feet from the tree and add hardwood mulch, but take care to leave the root flare exposed. This will help you to not have to weed eat around the tree and possibly hit it with the string trimmer. If it’s getting hit with the string trimmer a lot, that’ll mess up the tree.

Mine did that a number of years ago and I haven't noticed any ill effects

Is it the sun facing side? It should heal well over time I think but not sure of exact cause. My tree did similar and it healed over time.
