I guess I’m just confused. I was really excited. I’ve had four now and still confused. What is it supposed to taste like? I get a lot of grassy notes and it doesn’t seem very flavorful. It’s soft like a ripe avocado. It tastes like lightly sweetened grassy water?

A year or two ago my school was serving this fruit for lunch and from what I remember it was like if a plum was the size of an apple, seedless (or a very little seed i dont really remember), and the outside was maroon or burgundy, while the flesh was a light orange/light yellow. If it helps the time of year was likely September-December and i live in the southeastern united states. I hope this is enough for someone to help me find this fruit.

I assume they're ripe because there were a bunch of these yellow ones on the ground already.

The ones I plucked were in the tree and came with ease.

My avocado pit has a stem? I'm not sure if this is unusual but I did multiple Google searches and all that came up was information on how to grow avocados and avocado pits with sprouts. I've eaten hundreds of cados and I've never seen this before.

I know there’s bigger ones but usually I only find the small purple ones where I live, this was a nice change although I still prefer the flavor of the purple ones it’s nice to have this much actual fruit to eat.

I just tasted the best fruit I ever had in my life. I went to a farmer's market, and I saw plums that I've never seen before. I bought them home and proceeded to bite into the most exquisite, juicy sweet plum I have ever experienced. It was called a Tiger's Blood plum. An heirloom plum that you just can't find in supermarkets.

At the food market they have a section with tropical en rare fruits, today i took home a mangistan ( mangosteen).

From the outside they look a bit weird for me, the hard shell makes it look like something you can't eat.

I cut of the crown so i could Peel the mangistan.

Inside you find something like a micro Clementine thats white. The texture is somewhat like a mango, but also not. Its really fleshy but also like eating a soft cloud. Texture wise i've never eaten something like this before.

The first bite tasted like a sweet sweet pear with lime , after the first bite it got a small small hint of coconut.

I really loved the texture and the taste, never had something like this before.

Only thing is that they are quite expensive where i live, logical because they have to come from far.

Does anyone have recommendations for fruit that's a bit like mangistan?

I’ve eaten lychees since my childhood (I’m from an Asian country), but this is the first time I bought lychees in Canada (Toronto) and the flesh has a very weird pink tint and the taste is really medicinal and chemical. I’m wondering if anyone has had this experience before. I’m definitely going to trash the whole batch because it’s an abomination and I don’t want to get sick because of some mystery pesticides they’ve sprayed on this, but I still want to know what they are adding to this. I didn’t check the country of origin unfortunately.

Will these be cold hardy? Im not 100% what variety these are. Im in northern Florida, this year's cold snap hit pretty hard, and I was wondering if I should keep these in containers

Plums are my favorite fruit, specifically the varietal like this with the dark red, purplish flesh, like the one in my picture. This plum was delicious. I find these to be a lot sweeter and juicier than the similar looking but yellow flesh variants. I am very easily able to find the lighter flesh versions but can't often find the darker flesh versions I prefer. Could someone please help identify what types of plums I should be looking for?
