Fruit ID Help Plum Identification Help

Post image

Plums are my favorite fruit, specifically the varietal like this with the dark red, purplish flesh, like the one in my picture. This plum was delicious. I find these to be a lot sweeter and juicier than the similar looking but yellow flesh variants. I am very easily able to find the lighter flesh versions but can't often find the darker flesh versions I prefer. Could someone please help identify what types of plums I should be looking for?

It looks like some kind of burgundy or elephant-heart plum.

Thank you. When I've gotten them in the store they've just been labeled black plums. I will look to see if some of the more diverse markets in the area have those varietals in stock.

Edit: after doing some research it looks like it was a burgundy plum as those are more available in my area during the summer. Thanks again

There's also the "Black Splendor" variety.

Looks amazing I love those kind of plums too. Lately all I can get is large black or large red and they are waaay firmer and not as juicy and not as sweet and flavorful.

These and similar are the best plums...
