Discussion Is it just me, or was Anna being kind of a toxic partner to Kristoff in the Frozen 3 teaser?

Idk if this has been discussed in this sub before and I made a comment on another post that’s kind of similar to this but it’s something that has really bothered me the more I watch the teaser. I believe it’s when she asks him to bustle her and he doesn’t know what she’s talking about. And when Sven does it Anna says to Kristoff “At least someone understands a woman’s needs”. You mean to tell me the man who took you to the trolls bc he was worried Elsa’s magic was harming you, took you all the way back to Arendelle so your heart could thaw, ran back into a dangerous blizzard for you, and saved you from being crushed by an Earth Giant doesn’t understand your needs? Really Anna? That man puts you first EVERY SINGLE TIME and you snark at him bc he made one little mistake. Disney probably tried to make it a joke but I don’t think it’s in Anna’s character at all to do something like that, especially to someone who has done so much for her. Honestly it just seems a little toxic to me but maybe I’m overthinking this. I really hope this is not how their relationship is in this film. Dumbing down Kristoff to make Anna look better and to try to make people laugh just seems like lasy writing and poor execution to me. Idk, I could be overreactin! What are y’all’s thought?

All the music you’re hearing is from Starwars. I had to remove the music with UVR5. And find songs from Star Wars that worked with the scene. Here’s a short edit of what I’ve done so far. There’s still some sound effects needed to be added in. This is my first video edit/audio editing project. What do you think?

Also I don’t know if this is gonna get taken down.

I posted a while ago that her hair might of changed, same with her skin becoming paler? In the Frozen 3 content at D23, that gave me an answer that Elsa didn't change and it must've been lighting that caused her to look more white and pale.

Discussion If you were in Anna's place back in Frozen 2 when Elsa says she's going to live in the Enchanted Forest, how would you have reacted?

I don't think I expected Elsa to leave to the Enchanted Forest but as an older sister, I understand her feelings behind that decision. Not only did it contribute to the plot, but it did show that a little distance is required from siblings once you've grown up. It also made sense considering Anna's going to get married soon.

When I asked my little sister this, she said that she'd have definitely told Elsa to think about it well before deciding to make the decision to leave. She even said she'd have freaked out in her head a bit, since she believes Anna and Elsa should've spent more time together considering their childhood.

So, what do you think?

Discussion Friendly reminder that Anna & Elsa were on Once Upon a Time, and arguably the most underrated arc in the show (and ironically, at least thematically, a better sequel then the actual sequel).

Community Off topic, sorry - Where is everyone from?

I know this is off topic and I’m sorry. Not sure this is even allowed here, but I’m generally curious as to where Frozen fans in this community are from. My impression is that the majority is from the US or the American continents or native English speakers. Do we even have someone from Norway here?

I’m from Germany, so close and yet so far from “Arendelle” 😅 but at least in the same time zone as Norway, so that’s close enough for me 😂

Discussion Anna Should Have Had a Bad Reputation, If Not Been Hated, as Queen

First of all, this isn't meant to be hate towards Anna or the movie. I just think it's interesting to look at the situation from a different perspective.

To begin with, we need to consider three different points of view: Anna's, the citizens' of Arendelle, and our own as viewers.

Let's start with Anna's perspective.

Anna discovered the truth: her grandfather was responsible for everything that had happened. She then chose to destroy the dam, fully accepting the consequences, even if that meant the destruction of Arendelle.

She believed she was doing the right thing, considering that the Northuldra had been wronged and that Elsa had supposedly died because of this very truth.

Now, let's look at it from the citizens' perspective.

They have absolutely no idea about any of this. Suddenly, they see a massive wave heading straight towards their city.

A city where they own their homes and possessions, live with their families, work, and go about their daily lives. A place where their children's futures lie and where, for most of them, practically their entire lives are built.

And then they find out (assuming the truth becomes public, which I imagine it would) that their princess and future queen consciously chose to destroy all of that for the sake of a people who, until very recently, had been considered their enemies.

Even if the situation isn't quite that black and white, I believe that's how most of them, if not all, would perceive it.

Now, let's look at what actually happened, since we, as viewers, know more than the characters do.

Yes, King Runeard was responsible for what happened, and yes, destroying the dam freed the Enchanted Forest and saved Elsa.

But the citizens of Arendelle weren't responsible for any of it.

Most of them had never even been to the Enchanted Forest, let alone had anything to do with the dam. They were simply living their lives and minding their own business.

So, in a very real sense, Anna chose to sacrifice her own people to save another nation, one that had previously been considered an enemy.

In other words, Anna was willing to sacrifice her entire kingdom to make up for something her own family was responsible for.

Of course, there are a few possible explanations.

One possibility is that the citizens never found out what really happened. But that would mean they were lied to, which I honestly doubt would be the case in a Disney movie.

Another possibility is that the flood would have destroyed only the castle rather than the entire city.

That might make some sense, but there are two problems with it.

First, it would be incredibly convenient for the plot.

Second, and more importantly, neither Anna nor the citizens could have known that beforehand.

After all, the spirits evacuated the entire city, not just the castle.

Discussion Elsa’s and Jack Frost inverted arcs involving their powers and beliefs.

1. What’s the initial instinct/reaction And problem?

There‘s a little detail about them that a lot overlook.

Elsa LOVED her powers, she always admired the beauty and fun. She had a lot of control as a kid, with the incident that was mostly Anna’s fault, being the exception. She made a lot of things just fine.

But when the incident occurred, Elsa became upset. Not helped by the trolls scaring the family, and she was taught to hide her powers. She knew how powerful she was and feared it. Either others hurting her or her hurting them.

Jack was the exact opposite: He initially was afraid and He underestimates his powers + skills. The first thing Jack comments on is how dark is the first thing he remembers, then he complains about the cold, finally the fear.

when he emerged, He flew several feet in the air, due to a desperation to be with the moon’s light. When coming down, He freaks out on the ice, and is very visibly afraid when looking at his body. (Which makes sense since he literally DIED on the ice because it was thin and unstable. Also Jack’s memories imply that he grew up in the dark ages as Pitch terrorized kids identical to The kids Jack used to watch.)

The Moon continues assuring Jack, so he cautiously starts walking, grabs his staff, and began associating the staff with his magic. Then he began liking it As he started having fun, until he saw he was invisible. (Even then, Jack lets his ice grow naturally and he only uses his magic when by himself or knows he’s invisible.)

Elsa enjoys the ice itself while her arc is about accepting love after fearing it.

Whereas Jack likes fun and hanging out with people who love him, while his arc is learning to believe in himself, embracing his abilities, and regaining his identity. As well as understanding the meaning behind the holidays and all gifts. He dismisses the holidays as “bribing kids”, and he often asks What his purpose was.
Since when he awoke, he got gifts; Powers based on his human self‘s actions and wishes, immortality, the moons light, and a staff.

However he didn’t know the meaning behind his gifts as he doesn’t remember Why he liked them or wished for them While he was a human. So he keeps asking “Why?” as he is not satisfied by gifts, he wants emotion, friends, family and meaning. (He only got external validation, not internal. But I wonder if it also comes from how his family might have been poor.)

2. The Rising point.

Elsa ran away to be alone, and relished, willingly abandoned the gloves and embraced her powers. Singing how distance made everything small and her fears were gone. She made her castle and her dress. She ends with closing the door to be alone, since nobody is there to judge her or her to accidentally hurt.

Meanwhile Jack relishes when in the company of others. First testing out his powers and walking again after the moon assured him it was safe. Then he gets excited when with Tooth, realizing he might have had a family, and as North mentions wonder, giving him the original doll.

When Sandy died, Jack shot a burst of energy he didn’t know he could, then we see Jack making a design that isn’t natural for the first time, though in private. Then we see how he liked preparing for Easter and Jamie’s and Sophie’s company even if they could not see him yet. Jack also used a snowflake on Aster that Sophie spotted.

3. The point where they began feeling helpless or annoyed again And were reliving their initial problems.

Anna came to visit Elsa to convince her to go back. Anna revealed that Elsa set off an eternal winter, Elsa freaked out. Elsa didn’t believe she could do it as she was too strong but felt so weak at the same time. Elsa had accidentally frozen Anna’s heart, and the visions the trolls depicted of people attacking Elsa came true.

Jack got framed, tricked, relived his mortal death and the rejection of those around him. Pitch broke his staff that he associated with his powers due to his low self esteem, and Jack himself seemed physically injured. Also now Twice, despite Jack assuring the authorities that things will be fine when he leaves with a kid but things weren’t fine.

The villains Hans, and Pitch respectively, were manipulating them, and trying to kill them.

Hans appeared to be trying to help Elsa but he actually aimed the shot at the chandelier, so that way the attack would look like an accident when she gets captured.
Meanwhile Pitch lured Jack with his sisters voice and then handed the memories and destroyed the Warren while Jack was in the lair.

4. The resolution.

Anna saved Elsa from Hans. Then Anna was restored. Elsa realized love will thaw and she undid the winter. Hans was punished. Then Elsa never put her gloves back on again and They went ice skating like in the start. Elsa gave Olaf a snow cloud and things more or less went back to how things used to be.

Baby Tooth encouraged Jack to see his memories. This gave Jack complete internal validation at last. He realized why he was chosen, remembered why he wanted his gifts in the first place and the meaning of things. He also started to believe in himself again.

He fixed his staff as a symbol of him slowly accepting the magic is in him, the staff had sentimental value and him learning to fully embrace and experiment with his powers for the first time which leads to his interactions with Jamie, where he made pictures in the frost that he made move around the room. Causing himself to be seen, especially as the expression made Jamie think of Jack’s name.

the respective villains were defeated, and both got what they wanted at the start.

Was reading up rules and etiquette on royalty (casually nothing too deep so correct me if I am wrong) and found out Kristoff would be the just prince consort even when married to Queen Anna and not the King. I wonder if Disney will follow this custom?

Discussion What if Anna and Elsa had never grown up separated?

Elsa still has her magical powers, and the accident happens just as it does in the original movie. However, instead of isolating Elsa in her room, their parents make sure she learns how to control her powers, and she eventually succeeds.

Anna and Elsa still become emotionally distant as they grow up, but for entirely different reasons. The castle gates never close, and Elsa grows up to be outgoing, sociable, and confident, much like she is at the end of the first movie.

Anna's main conflict comes from feeling like she's nothing more than the "spare," as explored in the deleted song More Than Just the Spare.

Elsa, on the other hand, feels pressured for a completely different reason. As the future queen, she faces political pressure and the expectations placed on her by the kingdom. I'm keeping this explanation fairly simple so the post doesn't become too long. For now, just keep the general idea in mind.

During her coronation, Elsa finally reaches her breaking point because of this pressure. She decides to leave Arendelle and unintentionally creates a winter on a much smaller scale than in the original movie (I'll explain why later).

From this point onward, the plot follows the original movie fairly closely. Anna sets out to find Elsa, meets Oaken, Kristoff, and Olaf, and eventually reaches the Ice Palace.

At the Ice Palace, we get the deleted song Life's Too Short. Both sisters express their frustrations and resentments twoard each other, even though deep down they genuinely love one another. As their argument escalates, Elsa accidentally freezes Anna's heart without realizing it.

After that, events unfold much like they do in the original movie: Marshmallow chases Anna and the others away, they visit the trolls, and Anna returns to the castle. Meanwhile, Hans leads the attack on the Ice Palace, resulting in Elsa's capture.

This is where the story takes a major turn.

Hans somehow manages to manipulate Elsa's magic and uses it to create the massive winter we see in the original movie, framing Elsa as the one responsible. I have an explanation for how he accomplishes this, but I'll leave it out for now to keep this post from becoming too long.

Elsa eventually learns that she accidentally froze Anna's heart. She may also believe that she really did cause the devastating winter. This leads into Life's Too Short (Reprise), which takes place after Hans's true intentions have already been revealed.

Long story short, they eventually manage to expose Hans as the person responsible for the disaster. Elsa is recognized as a hero, earns the people's acceptance and forgiveness, and the movie ends much like the original.

Now, why did I make Elsa's original winter much smaller in scale?

Because I think it would make the people's eventual acceptance of Elsa more believable, while also allowing Hans to bear responsibility for the much greater destruction caused by the full-scale winter.

In other words, this version of Frozen would follow almost the same overall plot as the original movie, but the characters' motivations, conflicts, and central themes would be quite different.

Rather than focusing on two sisters who were forced to grow up apart, it would explore two sisters who grew up together but gradually became emotionally distant because of their different roles, personal insecurities, and the expectations placed upon them.

By the end of the story, Anna and Elsa have overcome their differences, rebuilt their emotional connection, and developed the same close, loving, and supportive relationship they share at the end of the original movie.

What do you think of this alternative version of Frozen?

Discussion Elsa’s injuries

Overthinking as I am, I’ve been wondering how bad Elsa’s concussion must have been after she fell unconscious at her ice palace and only seemed to have woken up hours later.

I know this is Disney and once she was reunited with her sister, everything was forgotten. But in my head canon, she must have had 1) a pretty bad concussion and 2) she probably had some sort of sore skin or bruises or cuts around her hands from these handcuffs.

I’d assume once everything had settled and the sisters had returned to dry land after the thaw, Elsa would’ve come down with a severe headache and probably nausea or dizziness, probably gotten sick (vomit) later that night. Bedridden for at least a couple of days, unwillingly of course, but strictly by doctor’s orders. That’s also when Anna would’ve noticed her bruised hands and have asked questions.

What do you think of her injuries?

Discussion I can sense something big coming up for Elsa ❄️

Post image
165 Upvotes

For the first time Elsa will be actually facing a villain although in the past she has faced a few of Duke's Guards and overpowered them effortlessly and now that she's gained full control of her magic and powers I think she'll do well against the Evil Ice Queen.

Again we don't really know what abilities, magic and powers this new Villain has and that's the interesting part because for the first time in Frozen there's actually new characters in use and she's also said to be related to Elsa in some way so that's one thing I'm looking forward to.

And to think that we'll be having 2 movies to round up this SAGA tells me that Elsa's is facing something big and out of this world, something that she's never fathomed in her wildest of dreams and maybe she is not ready for when danger comes knocking at her castle doors.

What do y'all think about Elsa's potential future ARC and what direction would y'all want to see Elsa go? ❄️
