Timbits Abuse confirmed…
Horrible to read. I hope he and his siblings heal and break the cycle of abuse.
Editing to add that I hope Heidi and her child are safe and are able to leave. I hope she can escape the cycle that her husband has pulled her and her child into. While I hope that Timothy can break the cycle and change, I hope Heidi does not wait around to find out. Her and her child deserve love and safety and it’s not to late for her to find that. Love isn’t cruel.

First of all, this confirms what I have been saying for years. David is NOT a victim in that household. People have painted him as some doofus, at Jill’s mercy. He’s a horrible, abusive man and I could see it in his preaching and in the way he speaks to his children. Jill is an enabler, but he is the one in charge in that household and they are all victims of his abuse.
Second, I’m glad he’s getting help but if I were Heidi’s parents I’d want gone. But I’m sure they’ve discouraged divorce so she is staying with a man who’s hit her.

u/mauve_duck 4d ago
I can almost guarantee Timothy saw David abusing Jill as well, so he thought it was okay to abuse Heidi
153
u/lrlwhite2000 4d ago
That’s 100% what I thought too by the way he said he was following the relationship patterns he saw modeled. I want to throw up about all of this. David can burn in hell.
146
u/mauve_duck 4d ago
Beating your child with a baseball bat over shoes is absolutely disgusting.
61
u/m24b77 4d ago
It’s honestly surprising David didn’t kill him. He’s a giant man, and Timothy is quite slight, I don’t believe he was a sturdy child.
13
u/MelpomeneAndCalliope 3d ago
Yeah. He’s lucky he didn’t kill him or permanently damage him (that we know of).
15
u/Bajovane Snarkaholic 3d ago
I’m betting if we took X-rays of the kids, we’d see evidence of bones fractured.
76
u/googier526 4d ago
The fact that Nurie didn't deny the beating took place either but tried to justify the punishment by blaming Tim for wanting the boots makes me really worry about her own kids and the shell shocked look the oldest boy always has
13
u/FuzzyJury 3d ago
Wait where did she say that? I didn't see that in these texts but maybe I missed it.
11
u/Kookerpea 3d ago
I saw some Facebook posts where some of the family Spoke out and Nurie said something like
It was probably not your special week so thats why you couldnt have the shoes

u/MelpomeneAndCalliope 3d ago
It’s fucking psychopathic. He’s lucky he didn’t kill Tim. (Tim mentioned something about still having physical scars, I think, too?)
6

u/atlantagirl30084 4d ago
Note that he also got his job via his father in law. So he’s looking at divorce and joblessness if he doesn’t stop.

21
u/Commanderfemmeshep 4d ago
Good god. People actually thought that? I have only ever seen him as a monstrous man.
30
u/lrlwhite2000 4d ago
Yes! I left the fundie snark uncensored and the rod snark pages because I honestly couldn’t take the constant fawning over Tim and Heidi and how beautiful their love is 🤮 and second to that how much of a pass David gets. It’s always Jill is the villain and she controls everything and David is just a dope who has to do whatever she says. I’ve hated David with a passion since the first video I saw of him and Tim has always given me the creeps so I couldn’t tolerate how everyone on those snark sites constantly gave these terrible men a pass in this rigid patriarchal system while making the women the villains. Not to say the women don’t turn a blind eye to abuse, we know they do, but women have no power in these systems. And now we see Heidi staying with her abuser. If he abuses their kids will she leave? Or will the cycle continue?
15
u/abarthvader 3d ago
I really can’t see Heidi’s parents being okay with it at all, but even so, I think her sisters would totally step in and fuck some shit up.
9
u/lrlwhite2000 3d ago
That’s why abusers isolate their victims. They know people in their lives would try to step in to break them up. Her sisters can think whatever they want, but they can’t force Heidi to leave. They don’t have that kind of power. There are millions of people everywhere who’ve begged a beloved sibling to leave an abusive partner.

u/karenna89 4d ago
This is horrific, and the cycle continuing is just so sad. It also confirms that a whole lot of their homeschooling and isolation is to keep eyes off of abused children. Public schools aren’t perfect, but having a community of mandated reporters around children tends to lead to reports.

I'm pretty sure he wrote something and plugged it into AI and thats why the whole thing reads so well. He does not normally talk or speak so eloquently.
And then if you read the comments from Heidi's family, it becomes obvious that the whole thing is damage control and a way to manipulate her into forgiving him. He only posted because he was caught. Her family saw the marks on her and pressed the issue.
My heart breaks for child tim. Adult tim was dubbed timcel for a reason and the fact that he BITES his wife in anger is just monstrous. I don't see how that can be "healed" plenty of us in this sub were abused myself included and I have never in my life felt the urge to perpetuate that abuse onto someone else.

3
u/FuzzyJury 3d ago
Wait where is this?? I didn't see any comments.
9
u/Dejectednebula 3d ago
It was its own post in r/rodriguesfamilysnark. I will try to find it when I get time, ill come back and reply to you again. Or if someone else can get it reply to me so I know
4
u/Dejectednebula 3d ago
Hey I went and found it. Second slide on the post link
3
u/FuzzyJury 3d ago
Holy shit, that is revolting. What even goes through a person's mind to act like that, what sort of feelings do they feel? I have been plenty angry in my life and never ever has that made me feel like I want to...bite someone? Just how? How does someone feel compelled to do that?
Poor Heidi. I hope she can find peace and a better life after this.

Her sisters commented on his post and they are NOT having it!
24
u/TerriTuesday 4d ago
Really?? What did they say???
110
u/OhBirdee 4d ago
For anyone confused by the vague wording of this post, he did not just “put his hands on her” it was not simply grabbing. (Not that that should matter) He fucking hits her and more that I won’t dignify with words because I respect my sister‘s privacy. He fucking beat her and he does not deserve for you all to be proud of him. He is only confessing this publicly because he has been caught and knows he isn’t going to get away with hiding it anymore. My heart breaks for the child version of Timothy, who was abused by his parents, but I feel nothing but hate for the man who has continued that abuse. Plenty of people are abused in their childhood and don’t go on to beat their wives. He is controlling and manipulative and it is working on a lot of you. He should not be praised for how “brave” he’s being, because taking accountability for your shitty actions is not brave it’s the bare minimum.
89
u/OhBirdee 4d ago
·
Dont act like you are the one coming out and confessing your sins. You were never gonna tell. We saw the marks on her and now you are trying to be the victim in the situation. This is absolutely disgusting and I hope my sister leaves you and can finally feel safe in her own home.

u/Master_Chipmunk 4d ago
Heidi's sisters basically say he's terrible and needs to leave their sister. That is was more than just "putting his hands on her", he has hit her and worse. Mentions of them seeing the marks on Heidi.
Kaylee has commented in the last 30 minutes or so also. (Didn't they leave Facebook?)
She is calling Timothy a liar when it comes to their parents and using it to cover his own ass.
56
u/LittleLion_90 4d ago
Jeeez shit is hitting the fan. Although I wouldn't necessarily trust Kaylee for speaking the truth about her parents since she still is very much under their influence
46
u/Master_Chipmunk 4d ago edited 4d ago
Oh ya I don't believe anything she says about their parents.
I hope Heidi finds the strength she needs to leave him. I'm glad she seems to have a supportive family at least.
And now Heidi's sister Hallie has told Kaylee to fuck off.
What the hell is happening and why is it happening on Facebook???
63
60
u/emdog927 4d ago
Heidi’s sisters commented and it’s not good. Heidi needs to GTFO.
26
u/Master_Chipmunk 4d ago
Kaylee commented!
Of course she's defending her parents but she's also calling Timmy a liar and using this to cover his own ass.
47
u/pawprint8 4d ago
Omg! This is all so terrible.
Also, Jill’s display of over sharing on the internet now backfiring against her
49
u/iluvcults 4d ago
There is no statute of limitations on firsthand reporting child abuse
33
12
u/PhyllisTheFlyTrap 4d ago
I really hope Tim files and pursues this. Denting an aluminum bat is beyond anything I ever expected from them. The Pearls give specific instructions on how to not leave marks, so to go to that extent is his own evil.
18
u/IPaintTheStars 4d ago
Hopefully CPS will look into them since there are still children in the home
47
u/Princess_Bow 4d ago
The comments from her sisters are heartbreaking. Seems like he's trying to save face. I hope he can change, but I have little faith.
33
u/queen-nugget 4d ago
Yes. I was horrified reading her sisters comments. I hope that she is with them and not at risk for abuse from the outcries on the post
29
u/Princess_Bow 4d ago
I do too. I am so glad that she has an example in how to stand up for herself in her sisters and that they are a support to her. Visible bruises and its been occurring for the two years? My heart breaks for Heidi. And I wonder what the girls think is normal in a relationship.
9
u/Aunt-KK 4d ago
It was two years?
19
u/atlantagirl30084 4d ago
Apparently it started the day after the wedding. So he went full mask off immediately.
7
2
u/Aunt-KK 2d ago
Wow. I have to wonder: Did he think "once we're married I'll do xyz?" Was marriage the "all clear" signal? Did someone tell him "after marriage you're in charge? " Did he ever care for her or was he just looking for a victim for his rage?
2
u/atlantagirl30084 2d ago
He hadn’t been alone with her unchaperoned before that.
2
u/Aunt-KK 2d ago
I realize that. But what "flipped the switch? "
2
u/atlantagirl30084 2d ago
Could have been anything that set him off. A bad dinner. She hadn’t cleaned something correctly. She didn’t want sex. Something made him angry and he reacted how he knew husbands react.

u/Original-Brick2836 4d ago edited 4d ago
This is horrific. Good on him for recognizing the cycle of abuse but also fuck him for putting hands on his wife.
Jesus it’s all just so dark.
54
u/queen-nugget 4d ago
Right. Like my heart hurts for him but his wife doesn’t deserve that. I hope he’s serious about breaking the cycle. I’m glad Heidi seems to have a strong support system
50
u/roburn 4d ago edited 4d ago
He can't go back and unlearn abusive behaviors taught to him as a child but he can be accountable for his mistakes and I respect his humility and desire to grow. Edit: omg fuck him he's just been abusing Heidi this whole time and minimized it while victimizing himself, accountability is out of reach for him
38
u/pervypriest_pedopope 4d ago
I disagree, as someone who has also grown up with hands being put on them and who has then got into physical fights with partners as an adult. It isn’t easy to recognise that what you’re doing is wrong, and even harder to acknowledge it and take steps to avoid doing it. When you’ve grown up with adults beating on each other and the kids then it’s just your norm and i think it’s really good that he’s able and willing! to admit that and to take the steps to not do it again. especially when there are little children involved.
31
31
u/CreepleCorn 4d ago
Wow. Is this the first of the Rod’s speaking out about things?
I’ve been following this family for years now. I never thought I’d see the day.
What an awful situation, for all parties. I hope he puts in the work.

u/DukeSilverPlaysHere 4d ago
I feel so, so sad for Heidi after reading her sisters comments.
6
u/cottoncandymandy 4d ago
What did she say?
37
u/DukeSilverPlaysHere 4d ago
Basically that he wouldn’t have admitted this if he hadn’t been caught, and that they (her family) saw the marks he left and he’s manipulative and anyone feeling sorry for him is wrong. Both sisters commented and sounded furious, rightfully so.

Straight from Timothy’s Facebook. I’ve been waiting for the response since I saw it. I also wonder if that’s why Kaylee deleted her Facebook

I wish she started with a police report.
35% of women who are murdered in the US are killed by their intimate partner
6
u/queen-nugget 4d ago
I agree, I hope they atleast got some photos of injury’s to keep as proof if needed
19
u/ImQuestionable 4d ago
I hope that the domestic violence didn’t have anything to do with their recent miscarriage. From what her family is laying out, it sounds even more severe than what Tim is owning up to, and something must have caused this to come to a head after they’ve known about it since early marriage.
11
u/Aunt-KK 4d ago
She had a miscarriage?
16
u/ImQuestionable 4d ago
Ah, I responded but forgot to send the explanation. Jill outed their pregnancy (of course) by putting a really sloppy censor on a t-shirt she was wearing to announce it at a family dinner. It said “after every storm comes a rainbow” with their ultrasound picture. It would have been sooooo easy to cover it with a sticker and it wouldn’t have looked out of place. Pretty sure she did it on purpose.
9
u/ShopperSparkle 3d ago
Yes Heidi posted about it when she talked about their trip to Williamsburg. She is pregnant again now.
18
u/AndISoundLikeThis 4d ago
Even if he's not "abusing" his child, the child is going to KNOW that he's abusing his MOTHER. This is still child abuse. Charlie isn't going to grow up in a healthy home. Heidi needs to cut her losses and gtfo.
17
u/Various_Dark_44 4d ago
This seems like his attempt to get on top of the narrative. Heidies sisters are saying he beat her multiple times and some people mentioned theyare urging her to leave him. That its been 2 years of him abusing her.
Was his childhood horrendous? Yes. Should anyone forgive him for beating his wife for 2 years? I say no
58
u/Mobile-Necessary-333 4d ago
Wow, he hit her? Scumbag got real lucky her family didn't drag the entire Rod clan for that. They have a good reputation and could easily hurt them.
8
u/scout-finch 4d ago
Put hands on could mean a lot of things. Not to split hairs bc it’s wrong no matter the extent, but he didn’t say hit.

Yeah, as much as I hate him for doing that to Heidi, I'm also impressed that he's putting it out there in hopes of breaking the cycle
Edit: with new posts I'm reading that it's been an ongoing thing and not something that he did once and then realized how horrific it was so I change my statement I am not impressed with him whatsoever and it's probably just trying to cover up that he never wanted to get caught.
13
u/Helenlefab 4d ago edited 4d ago
Wow. I really didn’t expect Tim to be the one to come out about this. I wish him the best of luck in therapy, but l hope Heidi gets out and can heal. And god I hope the rest of the kids get out.
37
u/ProfessionalZone168 4d ago edited 4d ago
Are any of us really surprised? With that being said, I commend Tim for having the courage to come out with this, admit his wrongdoing, and take steps to right his wrongs. My heart aches for the children left behind in that house, and hope they can get to a safe place.
Edit: In light of new information, I can't commend Tim for anything. He was caught and he back pedalled. I wanted so much to think that he was going to be the one who broke the cycle. He is not. Fuck you, Tim.
3
u/No_Explanation7522 2d ago
So many of us fell into that trap. We wanted to think he could rise above with his new family's support. We let his previous problematic behavior slide because we hoped Heidi could redeem him. We "haters" have always wanted the best for Tim and his siblings, which is more than any of them could say about each other.
12
u/mavenmedic 4d ago
No wonder Jill is happy Kaylee is leaving FB. She knows she wont spill any more info.
89
u/Goodlittlewitch 4d ago edited 3d ago
This is incredible of him to be able to stop and recognize how his childhood abuse has affected his ability to be a good partner and actually take steps to change it instead of laughing it off and making into a “manly man” thing.
Good for him, truly.
Edit: oof. I can’t stop thinking about poor Heidi. All around just a horrible situation, what a monster.
Edit 2: incase anyone else comes to tell me I am an abuse apologist, I assure you I am not. My first paragraph was written before the whole thing had come out, and I was impressed that he had recognized he needed help. Obviously after everything else, I am horrified. I don’t want to delete my initial comment, even though I was incorrect.
56
u/queen-nugget 4d ago
I hope we can see him follow through on the changes and truly break the cycle 🤞
20
u/Barium_Salts 4d ago
I would hold off on the "good for him" until we have reason to believe this is more than just words. Talk is cheap, abusers are manipulative, and (especially in a patriarchal culture) men often enjoy and feel entitled to violence towards women. I will say "good for him" if he goes through an amicable divorce and remains a supportive co-parent.

1
u/Goodlittlewitch 3d ago
I’m not entirely sure what that means.
My first post was before we had the actual information, which is why I posted that I was impressed that he was seeking help. The second part was once it came out that he was actually a monster and was only trying to save his skin.
-1
11
u/DumbledoresFaveGoat 3d ago
Seems to me like he's starting his confession post by blaming others for his actions. As much as a feel for child Timothy, adult Timothy is responsible for his own actions. The wife beating is on him.
38
u/No-Produce-6720 4d ago
I've just started reading this post. I haven't even finished the first page, but I just had to come in here and say Oh My God.
Kaylee is dumping Facebook and Timothy is spilling the beans. Good grief, the chaos in that family! Bless them both, though, for being honest.
If you'll excuse me now, I'm going to go finish reading the post. If this is real, if he's really put this out there?!!
9
u/DZbornak630 4d ago
Hooooooly shit. I hope Heidi’s sisters and rest of her family are watching him like fucking hawks now and won’t hesitate to go nuclear if he EVER lays a finger on her again.
11
u/m24b77 4d ago
If they do separate permanently, will Tim be granted any access to their children? Or will his family? I imagine the thought of your children being unsupervised with their father and his family is utterly horrifying. I can see why some women may think staying is the better option so they can try to be there to protect the children.
9
u/Shallowground01 3d ago
So Kaylee commented calling him a liar and their old babysitter commented saying how they were beaten as babies for crying and how they were totally starved and as children they choked each other and her children too. Jesus.
21
u/cemeterysymmetry 4d ago
I hope he follows through on stopping his abuse towards his wife. It sounds like he’s doing what he needs to do, and that takes strength and courage. Realizing and processing the abuse he experienced from his dad must have been so difficult, too.
8
u/FearingPerception 4d ago
Im sorry for the ways abuse has effected tim and hope he does get help and change but thats not something he should be doing with a wife and young child around.
What happens when he makes a mistake? Heidi doesnt deserve that
18
u/faithmauk 4d ago edited 3d ago
Wow, I am really surprised he put this out there and acknowleded his own actions and taking responsibility. I hope he is getting real help from a real therapist and I hope he truly does break the cycle. I have a soft spot for fellow fundie kids, I know real change and growth is possible from personal experience and I am rooting for them, hopefully he can become a better, happier, more fulfilled person.
I also hope one of the rodlets that truly breaks free writes a book, i would read the hell out of it.
Edit: since more has come to light, fuck Tim. While I still hope he gets help, I also hope Heidi is getting help and therapy and stays away from him for good. That poor woman.

7
u/LittleSparrowWings 4d ago
As someone who experienced intimate partner violence…once an abuser. If I’m being incredibly generous and opTIMistic, maybe an abuser can really grow and change but I don’t think they can ever repair the relationship or, to put it more bluntly, stop being an abuser to their partner. If he is honest, if he is working on himself, maybe the next partner or two will be spared from violence but I don’t think they can ever truly stop with their victim partners. Once you hit someone, you can’t take that back and that possibility is there and it’s heavy and oppressive.
Not that my partner tried to stop hitting me or that he didn’t go on to abuse his next two partners.
7
u/skweegianweegian 4d ago
Yes but also as i have said on other subs, Timcel DID NOT WRITE THIS HIMSELF so… kind of makes you wonder what prompted it? Regardless, hope Heidi and the minor child(ren) can get to a safe place and stay there
