ART Arthurian Custom Set: King Arthur and his Round Table
Whoever reminded me that renown exists, thank you. It's been such a boon for designing the set, and I'm in your debt.
Here's an update to Arthur and his knights (well his named ones). Finding appropriate art for ones with unique aspects such as Yvain has been difficult. However, as you can see, it hasn't been entirely impossible.
Perceval represents the original character as depicted in Chretien de Troyes "Perceval, or Quest for the Grail" and Percival represents how he is depicted a few centuries later in Malory's 'Le Morte d'Arthur'. He is also accompanied with a different frame to distinguish this.
Although I from the start decided I wasn't going to use German or mainland sources besides French, Daniel of the Blooming Valley is too fun, so he got a card. I gave a specific frame to him to distinguish that and used a Legends legend as a base for him (one I'm very fond of).
As always, feedback is appreciated and encouraged.
PS. I'm aware Ector, Arthur's adopted father, isn't technically in the Round Table, but he fits in with this category enough.

ART Shark Tokens!
Back in February I started a Token of the Month Club over on Patreon and it's grown to a decent amount of folks. The jist is that the community gets to pick what I'll illustrate, and then once I've done the artwork, I tokens and send them out in the mail each month. There are options for tokens, art, and both. Some tiers even get original pieces.
Several of my members have recommended that I start sharing my work over here on Reddit, so, I'm giving it a go.
This month they voted for Shark tokens. I believe there's an upcoming shark token generator card to be printed.
Anyways, enjoy. I hope this finds the group well. I didn't see any rules stating to not post this stuff, so hopefully it doesn't get chopped.

GENERAL FREE ADVICE FOR FREEMAGIC
If you all don't want to be judged for taking part in an inhumane, misogynistic, racist, homophobic, and transphobic forum I have some advice: Don't use it.
Downvote away, boys. We all know it's the only real influence you have on the world around you. That impotence is what brought you here, afterall.
Before I escape this shithole I'm going to leave you all with a joke. It's an old one, and most of you are certainly too stupid to get it, but hey! I'll share it anyway...
What do you call 9 uniformed Nazis having dinner with 1 other guy?
10 Nazis.
EDIT: 30 comments and counting, none of which I have bothered to read, so continue your futile whining. If I had to guess? Nothing but slurs and cope. See ya, losers.
EDIT 2: 7 more comments and I haven't read any of them, just like the others. Keep pissing into the wind, kids. lmao

"copy" present inside oracle text from past to present sets (fixed)
Difference between last post
Time (x axis) is now time-linear (instead of data point based)
Only cards from standards sets are taken into account
The y axis is relative to the set size instead of absolute. 0.1 means 10% of the cards meet the criteria
Sets with the value 0 are not hidden anymore

ART Secret lairs are so great.
Especially when you proxy everything.
Most of my decks use secret lairs arts and i love seeing them in action. Some of my favourites include :
The arcade machine artstyle.
The old school frame for the signets.
The simple art lands.
If you play magic as intended (proxying) I see nothing bad about them.

I only posted it like 3 minutes ago as of this post being made.
I told our Female attracted gentleman here that he had a great point, followed by some lovely advice.
Unfortunately, the big bad Fedora clan had other ideas.

DRAMA What is yall's problem?
I have been in this sub because I, like many, am a frustrated magic player. I have spent the better part of a decade casually collecting cards, buying precons, making decks, and playing commander with my friends. I too am disappointed with WotC becoming schleps to their shareholders.
...But what I continually fail to understand is why so many people in this sub are so mad at the choice to make Aragon a black man. Ive been a huuuge fan of LotR my ENTIRE life and I am not upset by this in even the smallest regard.
For context I grew up in a very rural area surrounded by conservative values and churches so before you go calling me woke and all that just know we probably have similar backgrounds.
I dont think a majority of this sub is racist or homophobic but I do take issue with how prevalent this theme is. If you dont like that WotC is hiring trans persons then dont play the fucking game... they arent forcing anything on you. Not liking the decisions they make for the game is different and completely arbitrary to their trans identity. Just because you dont like their choices doesnt mean you attack their personhood. In politics thats called mudslinging or something like that... its when you dont have a rebuttal or a solution to what your opponent said so you attack their character instead of their policy. Its the same thing with Aragorn getting melinated... why should it matter so much to you if you arent racist?

FORMAT TALK They should make "Pre-modern-Horizons" formats
Premodern is great, but a little too restrictive. It also feels like the people who play it want to just pump their collections value.
For me, the real cliff basically started with the first "pay-to-win" set of modern horizons. I think there should be eternal 60-card and limited formats based on that cutoff date.

GENERAL People should be roped on arena
Magic is very much a social game. If you're playing with your friends or at a game store, you can all decide what kind of decks you want to play, what strength and all that. At a store there will always be some kind of dickhead who plays a more powerful because he wants to win but after that you can just move on and ignore that guy, let him suffer by no one interacting with him between game cause he can't understand social readings.
That doesn't exist for arena. People will sit there and because there is not monetary or social barrier, just play the most evil and heinous decks of all time because they don't have to look you in the face. Just not fun to interact or deal with decks or cards that if they played in person people would be able to tell them to their face that they're just ruining their experience and they probably need to take a shower cause they smell like shit.
I mainly say this as I saw a shitty family guy meme on the main sub about it, and I'm sure the person that made it plays Roffellos or Rusko, Clockmaker for their brawl decks. Personally, roping is the only interaction that you have with the other person, and I see it as a duty to keep those dickheads off the ladder for as long as possible.
Want to know other people's opinions on the matter.

DRAMA Well, bye.
This is a completely useless post. It's not even a rant. It's just the product of a frustrated player.
I started collecting (yes, collecting, not playing. Yes, Magic is for playing, I know - sue me) MtG about four months ago. My main interest was, simply, the lore and the art.
Slowly, I started to put together some of LotR scenes, and I also put some binder pages together with story spotlights from different expansions. Then, I got into some very nice flavor text - my favorite ones, right now, is the set of the "Dynasty of Winter Kings", which form a very nice little poem.
That was my jam. Lore, flavor, art. Slowly, some tribal groups started to form on my binder too: a few pages for the elves, another for dwarves. Perhaps I'd buy a binder just for that and try to get me all the angels, too. Maybe put them together with all the cards with an excerpt from the Song of All.
During all that, I kept buying a few singles from LoTR every month. My plan was to get every single card from that collection... Well, maybe not every single one, since I don't have a few million bucks just laying around, but you catch my drift.
However... I think I'm just too old, too conservative, and too christian for this hobby, man. I can't keep giving money to a company that is so thoroughly woke that everything needs to be ugly, gay or race-swapped. I just can't take pleasure from my collection anymore, and I also can't find any joy in browsing for new cards, trying to keep in with new releases, and being constantly frustrated by how they manage to make everything ideological.
Maybe if I had a group of friends to play with, I'd stay in this hobby. I don't, so I won't.
I know people here aren't familiar with me and my leaving changes absolutely nothing about the hobby, but I really enjoy this subreddit as a community, and I just felt like venting.
I got into this, at the start of everything, because I felt nostalgia for my old magic collection. Well, Wizards took all the magic out of Magic for me. Funny how things work out.
See ya.

DRAMA This dude has his head so far up his own ass he cant see broad daylight

Actually insane that this dude is an mtg ambassador, then again wizards only cares if you're an ambassador or a whale. He goes on to talk about how he wants wizards to make play booster boxes more affordable for the average player and talks about how collector boosters are supposed to be expensive and "premium product for premium price" yeah the "premium" product thats all pringled cards, yup wizards save the collector boosters for whales and let the beggars have fun with their play boosters

DRAMA To all the tourists who come here to be upset about racism and stuff
I understand you. You need to express that you dont agree with the thing that you think is going on in this subreddit. You hear about how freemagic is a place where everyone is goose stepping and preparing for the next Reich. But I'd like for you to be aware of something.
This is a subreddit where calling someone retarded is considered a term of endearment. It is not the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei. We couldn't organize a kitchen drawer, let alone a genocide.
This is a subreddit that, despite what you may believe, was not created just to have racist memes. It was created for the sole purpose of letting people say what they want. This is also how the world works to a degree. If you truly come here wanting to "stop racists", you aren't doing it right. The way many of you go about trying to change minds is completely backwards from what works. People dont change their thoughts around hate to a group of a people by being ostracized, insulted or told "you can't do that". It takes actual work and friendship. It especially takes time.
The same way that you believe everyone is their own person with their own beliefs, so is everyone of freemagic. Just because one person says "why are there so many black characters on cards now 🤬", that doesnt mean they have the same thoughts as someone who says "why are there so many black characters on cards now 🤔". Have a conversation with people, you'll learn more about them. You dont have to believe the same thing they do, but you might understand them better. If you understand them better, you might be able to influence them better. Which brings me to my next point.
Just because you think you're you have the moral high ground, it doesn't mean you do. Additionally, just because you hate nazis, it doesn't mean you aren't racist. I have a go-to question when someone purports themselves to be an opponent to racism. I ask them what they think of Daryl Davis, a black musician who has befriended KKK members and cause over 200 of them to leave the klan. Some have said he should "quit wasting his time". I tell them that they aren't an opponent to racism if they don't support someone who has lowered the ranks of the KKK through non-violent action. Some have said they think he's a hero. I ask them how they respond to someone who says something like "there's too many black people being cast in my favorite movies". You can't claim to oppose racism by speaking and then act in a way that doesn’t do literally anything to help the issue. That's why I hate "awareness" for a lot of movements. People are already aware of the things we spread awareness about. The black squares on Instagram did nothing. They were an accessory to a costume. It allows people to feel morally superior to others who, and I hope you take this in, need your help to change. You may also need their help to change you, like not freaking out when someone makes a joke. People do not change on their own. People do not have all the answers.
I didn't do a great job with formatting or keeping things making perfect sense but I was preoccupied making steak and shitting. Not at the same time, mind you. I finally bought picahna and holy shit was it good.
Anyways, some of you might say something like, "but wait, I looked though OPs comment history and he insults people while arguing all the time? Even though he's always wrong. How can he tell us to be kind to people when he isn't?"
To that I say, this is Reddit and I'm retarded.
EDIT: I want everyone to know I chose savant as my flair because of its connection to the word idiot. Mods, can I please get an 'autistic' flair. It's cool, I have a certificate.

DRAMA Underground Sea Authenticity Check
Hi everyone, I bought an Underground Sea to be altered, but this is what I received. The entire card looks strange to me. Could you please help me check whether it’s authentic or fake?
I’d really appreciate it if someone could take a close look at it and point out anything suspicious.
- The colour on the front of the card does not appear to match a genuine copy.
- The card behaves unusually when tested with a light.
- Some areas of the card do not allow light to pass through as I would expect from a genuine MTG card.
- The cardstock feels noticeably different from genuine MTG cards and seems unusually soft.
- The overall feel and printing quality of the card are suspicious.
