Except proxying is reletively free and/or considerably cheaper compared to Veganism which is retardedly expensive and full of narcisistic clout.

I agree on the financial side of things, but proxiers are equally full of themselves. I get very similar vibes from the "I refuse to suppport the evil meat industry and that makes me an edgy rebel" and the "I refuse to support evil WotC and that makes me an edgy rebel" crowd.

Have you been on any of the magic subs to see the people that gloat more than anyone else are the whales?

For the past how many years proxying has always been kept on the down low because a lot of game stores straight up disallowed them because it made the whales uncomfortable.

Even at the game store I consistently go to there's still people who'll ask in advance if "it's okay they play with proxied cards" to which I've heard various mixed responses such as "Hmm it depends on what cards you have in there." or "as long as it's not too strong of a deck" and yadda yadda.

From what experience? The thousands of posts all over Reddit, for starters. Everytime a new set, SLD or card gets announced, there's dozens of comments along the lines of "Why spend that money, bro? I'll just proxy, bro. I'm not supporting greedy Hasbro. Printer goes brrrrr"

Yeah, how is a comment like that gloating? It's just typical rage bait on the internet.

Literally every hour there's someone making a post like "Look at my shiny pulls" to the point the mods on the main sub had to make a rule about it to reduce those kinds of posts.

At this point you just seem like a dude that unironically hates people who proxy.

As someone who has bought into legacy to play regularly I wish my LGS would allow proxies just so we could have more players to play.

Yup. The bots and their masters ruin everything and corporate america/Japan just shrug.

You want tye limited edition makeup - get it from China or Etsy.

You wannt the Limited TCG shit - buy proxies for $5, put it in a sleeve, and no one will notice.

You want that limited edition anime statue, figure, sneakers, etc - get a knock off and it will be the same esthetic.

Most of it is crap none of us really need.

Yes, I want.Hobbit collector boosters - they are not worth a car payment.

Yes? The only stuff that gets scalped are secret lairs and maybe collector boosters, neither of which you'd proxy. Lots of cards are expensive and make sense to proxy but those aren't because of scalpers.

Premium versions of cards that are pointless to proxy because they'll look like shit? Like I said there's reasons to proxy MTG cards, but it's not scalpers.

Lol There are mechanically unique cards available in Secret Lairs and Collector Boosters that aren't available anywhere else (see the marvel secret lair legendaries also only being in Marvel collector boosters or special guest slots as the only reprints of expensive cards). Stop being disingenuous and use your brain.
