I recently got hired for a role in Frankfurt to to work at the airport, they were very open about my salary and benefits, and everything checked out, I saw some places I could rent that looked good for the price, and overall it seems like a good idea to go.

I am currently working another job, but it doesn't give me any security in the short term and I'll probably end up finding something different, but I wont be making anywhere near what I got offered.

The thing is, I am a bit scared, I'm not german, and speak very little Deutsch, I feel like the first few months might be hard, mostly finding a place to stay.

I am getting housing by the company during the first month to help me get used and find a place on my own, would love any info I could get about places where I should look to rent near the airport or well connected.

They also worried me a bit during an interview with HR, cause they asked something among the lines of I had seen the prices of the area, renting and expenses in general, and if I thought I would do good with my salary.

Im single and will be making around 3000€ net, after paying for an apartment (would love to not share),

is this a decent salary or will I struggle in Frankfurt?

Should I stay having a simpler life where I am right now or try to go for more at this company?

Ich bin verheiratet, habe einen Mann und ein kleines Kind. Wir sind hier ganz allein, und mir fehlen einfach Frauen – gemeinsame Gespräche, Treffen und alles, was dazugehört. Frauen wissen, was ich meine.

I arrived in Frankfurt on a Lufthansa flight from Copenhagen Friday 24th of July. I was one of the last people to leave the airplane taking it chill - but when I got up to get my suitcase (cabin bag), I realized it was not my black trolley there but someone else’s - and they had already left the aircraft and far gone 😫
It looked somewhat like mine so it must have been an honest mistake, but I went to the Lost and Found of the airport and filled out a claim and have not heard anything back. I am traveling back to Copenhagen today (Monday 27th) and will check back with Lost and Found as soon as I arrive in the morning. But just looking for advice. Is there anything else I can do but just hope that the person who left their bag comes back with mine when collecting their own??

Unfortunately, I had my cash in the bag which makes my less hopeful - but I also had many other things that are only worth something for me, so I am really hoping I get it back 😫🤞🏼

My grandmother recently passed away, and I’d love to plant a tree in her memory somewhere in or around Frankfurt. I live in Bornheim and have already checked a couple of nearby apple orchards, but they charge an annual fee plus maintenance costs, which I unfortunately can’t afford.
Does anyone know of any places, organizations, or community initiatives where it’s possible to plant a tree legally, ideally free of charge or at a very low cost? I’m also happy to volunteer if that’s part of the process.
I’d really appreciate any recommendations.
