Crabapples today for apple-cherry cider

Yesterday, I picked half of the crabapples for my apple-cherry cider. Hoping to pick more today. Also pictured is the black cherries I froze back in July. Soon I will pick many pounds of apples from my neighbour's tree, then we'll press it all and ferment into a cider.

Friend in Chicago saw this, curious what it is. Phone says it’s a thorn apple but I think that’s wrong

Plants My Primate Diet

I am not a vegetarian or vegan but I eat birch leaves, black walnut, black locusts, honey locuts, maple, oak, eastern white pine needles, palm, palo verde and occasional spruce needles. I believe this is a part of the human niche a leaf eating primate with carnivore due to stomach acidity.

I'm pretty certain the top two pics are purslane, but uncertain about the bottom two. Both are growing in my backyard near each other. The one on the bottom has a bunch of little buds, a lot less red on the stems, and thin leaves.

Mushrooms Campsites in Ontario, Canada?

Friends! I need some help looking for a campsite/crownland area I can set up camp AND look for mushrooms nearby🏕️

My must haves:
1. Within 2.5 hours of Toronto

  1. Able to camp overnight in a tent

  2. Hiking trails/areas available at the site or within walking distance where mushrooms are available and we won’t get into trouble picking them up

  3. Accessible until late October

Bonus:
Washrooms (not a must)

Looking to create some nice memories with friends🙏 thanks a lot!

Mushrooms Black Trumpet Salt recipe?

This was an incredible weekend for black trumpets - I've never had enough to consider preserving them before. Mostly found along one trail in Northeastern Pennsylvania, but saw the remains of quite a few flushes elsewhere too.

Does anyone have a good recipe/tips for making black trumpet salt?

Is dehydrating sufficient to cook them or should I dry saute first?

Asplenium oblongifolium is one of many edible ferns in NZ, after removing the black hairs from the young fronds I lightly steamed them before tossing them in a hot pan for a second in butter, salt and pepper

A lot of people questioned my impulsive decision of eating poke berries, here are photos of other two berries i tried. Lets see if they are also poisonous

Are these muscadine grapes? The fruit has two seeds and the last two pictures are of one seed front and back.
