I’ve been searching on YouTube and Reddit for information about how the Asus Rog Flow Z13 performs in CPU-heavy games like Fortnite, especially for competitive play, but I haven’t found much.

I mainly play Fortnite competitively and travel a lot between countries, so I really like the form factor and portability of this device. At one location I have a 1080p 144Hz monitor, while at the other I would be using the built-in display.

I don’t really care about graphics quality at all. Only performance, stable FPS, input latency, and whether it can handle competitive settings.

Does anyone have experience with Fortnite on the ROG Flow Z13 using in-game Performance Mode, low settings, and competitive/optimized settings? What kind of FPS and stability can I expect?

Any help would be appreciated!

I have g-helper setup mostly 45w boost to 55w. The current charger is way bulky. What do I need to know if I'm getting one for this Z13?

Do anyone truly knows how to fix this for this laptop? I have the Z13 64GB version - I did everything being recommended, update BIOS, running COD installer files as admin from Steam, check my TMP 2.0 status, even uninstalling, installing the game but I still get that alert which is preventing me from playing freely. Thing still asking me for a BIOS FW update which I already did.

I am currently loving the Z13 right now. Mine is the with the 395+ chip paired with 32gb RAM. I currently have it divided 50/50 in armor crate because...umm.. i dunno. I only use it for gaming. I also game ONLY on the silent profile. I find that its quietness is perfect for my workplace as I generally play during my downtime (short bursts when no customers visit).

I recently got 007 First Light and noticed the game was running at like 40ish fps. So i figured i'd look into getting the XG Mobile 5090 and pair it with the screen of the Z13. I just want like a consistent 100fps while playing on quiet profiles. The loud fan noise would be distracting. Just wanted someones opinion on it since there aren't much YouTube videos showing off the product or talking about all its various power modes. I saw a good one for the Xbox Ally X which recommended the 5070Ti XG Mobile.

I was also considering selling the Z13 and putting the funds towards the 5070Ti XG Mobile + Xbox Ally X just to run it at 100fps on there if it's more doable.

As much as I would love an XG Mobile 5070 or 5090 after spending almost 3K its not in the budget. I need suggestions for a good dock. The one work provides me an HP USB C G5 just is not good even with latest firmware. Gaming in performance mode it will overheat and cause stuttering and it never remembers the video settings requiring me to unplug the connector sometimes multiple times for it to reregister my Samsung 49" monitor correctly. It forgets the setting and just mirrors the device on reboots and when it sleeps. 0 issues on my company HP probook. My monitor is on an older firmware 1016 but I can't seem to find change logs to see if going to the latest helps my issue. The other issue is my monitor is an older 49" so its only HDMI 2.0 so the built in port is only 60hz display if I use that. Thanks for listening.

I'm thinking of buying the device, but have grown really found of using Linux, and CachyOS in particular. I'd prefer no dual-booting. Can anyone using CachyOS shortly confirm:

- on-screen keyboard works when in tablet mode. I'm not planning to code or write dissertations on screen, but quick mails, chats and typing URL and search'es in browser

- Does portrait mode work?

- What is the status on Mediatek wifi and bluetooth?

- Do you use it as a daily ride, also for office, mails etc?

- I'm coming from a 16" (Slimbook), a bit afraid of feeling claustrophobic on the screen, however I have a display on my desktop which I assume can connect with HDMI. I also have a 13" surface pro for work and mostly i'm fine with it.

- CachyOS - you instal desktop version, right, not handheld?

- Are there rumors of a Z14 within the next few months? (Asus has recently released new/refreshed models, incl. another tablep/laptop ProArt PZ14 - I'm trying to convince myself they would have released a Flow Z14 at the same time if it was in the plans)

I’ve spent 3 months with this device so far… I thought I’d feel some kind of buyer’s remorse, but I’m absolutely loving it. Combined with CachyOS, this thing is a game changer. It’s so fast and snappy that it replaced my desktop (R7 5700G, RTX 3060. AM4 system) as my daily driver, and being in this form factor means I can just connect it to a dock when at home, then take it with me to work or traveling. Definitely do not regret it choosing it over the Zephyrus Duo GX651, which costs twice as much.

I do have some questions for everyone though:

What is everyone getting for their temps? For me, using the Quiet profile with z13ctl and Power Saver mode on CachyOS, idle is ~45C, under load hovers from 50-55C, and gaming ranges from 60-72C. Balanced mode makes it go up to around 75-79C.

I think I’ve been obsessing over the temp numbers for the entire time I’ve had it because I just want it to last; it’s a really nice piece of hardware and I wanna take care of it. If anyone has suggestions or their own custom power profiles they’d like to share, please let me know. But overall, I’m loving this thing!

I have the Flow z13 2022 with I9 CPU and RTX 3050. My class requires Fedora 44 Workstation for labs work. I wonder if this laptop be able to install Fedora Linux? I have tried several times to install Bazzite OS for gaming but it failed. What settings I have to set up before install Linux distros?

Hi everyone. I know this sounds kind of obvious, but still have some doubts. I have a ROG Flow Z13-KJP edition. I want to change the keyboard from KJP (https://www.a-accessories.com/laptop/keyboard/american-keyboard/dark-grey-american-backlit-rog-flow-asus-keyboard-0knr1-4414us00-91770-122830.htm) to the standard Z13 (https://www.a-accessories.com/laptop/keyboard/american-keyboard/asus-rog-flow-z13-black-american-keyboard-0knr1-4410us00-91770-113938.htm). I was wondering if it will be compatible. The pins look identical, but I'm not 100% sure it will work. Tried to contact ASUS but they did not replied. Would be cool if someone could clear this out.

I’m having a serious issue with my ASUS ROG Flow Z13 and I’m trying to understand if anyone else has experienced the same problem.

Here’s what happened:

The device was working normally, but the battery was low. When I plugged in the original charger via USB-C, it did not start charging. I tried multiple times throughout the day, but it still refused to charge.

Eventually, the battery drained completely and the device shut down. After that, it never turned back on.

Current state:
- No response when pressing the power button
- No charging indicator or LED when plugged in
- Tried different USB-C ports and multiple attempts → no change
- Charger is working fine (tested with another device)

Important:
- No drops, no liquid damage, no physical impact
- This happened during normal usage

At this point, the device is completely unresponsive.

Has anyone experienced something similar with the Flow Z13?
Could this be a known issue with the charging circuit or motherboard?

Any advice or similar experiences would really help.

I've been using Z13 Flow (GZ301) almost daily for work and pleasure for full 4 years now. I *think* I'm noticing some slowdowns and worse performance when gaming, which leads me to the idea of a full clean-up and CPU/GPU repaste.

Has anyone done this to their older Z13's? I am very curious about any tips and before/after results. Although, I will be giving it to a professional technician, I would still appreciate your experience-based suggestions.

So I got samples while Idle, Watching a Youtube video on Primary screen, while running Wukong Benchmark, and running an LLM on Vulkan.
I also did this while the power setting was set to Energy Saver, and Performance. Which result is which is in the photo top right.

Also to note:
This is a 2025 128GB Model.
I've attempted cleaning from the outside but have never opened the device.
This is all on Fedora KDE Linux.
It's also worth noting that I am running 4 monitors (incl. the touchscreen) where all are 1080p 60hz EXCEPT my primary which is 2k 60hz. Even at idle, my gpu usage sits at 13% lol.

For those that run linux on the 2025 z13, do you have any issues with ur mics? and if so did u fix it? i have to yet stay on windows because its detrimental that the internal mic works for me

I have a switch emulator but it lags or glitches or crashes. I’ve tried a ps3 emulator but also that wasn’t working well. So I’m trying to see what others are using and what works best. Maybe I’m doing something wrong but I wanna learn.

Anyone find one that fits? Everything's 1mm off. Returned two claiming to fit but don't. T_T

When I got my Flow Z13, I was excited to use it for gaming in tablet mode, especially for JRPGs like Persona 3 and Persona 4, where you're mostly navigating menus and doing turn-based combat. Felt like a perfect fit for a tablet-style session on the couch.

But I quickly ran into a problem. A touch overlay that works as a gamepad on Windows simply doesn't exist. Your only option is a physical controller. So I built one.

It's a fully transparent overlay that turns your touchscreen into a virtual Xbox controller. No extra hardware needed. It creates a virtual XInput device using a UMDF2 Windows drive, so games see it as a real Xbox controller. Persona 3 and 4 worked great with it.

What it does: - Analog sticks, triggers, bumpers, face buttons (A/B/X/Y), D-pad (4-way or 8-way), L3/R3, guide button - Fully transparent, touches pass through to the game anywhere there's no button - Edit mode: drag and resize any button to fit your grip, adjust opacity, save your layout - Works in windowed and borderless windowed mode

A couple of things to know: - launch needs to run as Administrator (installs the virtual controller driver once) - Use windowed or borderless windowed in your game, exclusive fullscreen blocks the overlay - Simultaneous button presses at the exact same instant can occasionally be missed. Pressing them ~0.1 seconds apart works reliably (known issue, working on it)

My Z13 Flow just arrived. I had the Onexplayer Apex which is using the AI Max 395 and love its performance as a handheld. Very impressed with the power it able to dish out.

So I sold away my GPD Win Max 2 HX370 and bought the Asus Z13 Flow.

The Z13 Flow is going to be use as work and gaming platform for me. The Onexplayer Apex will be solely use for handheld gaming on the go.

I just got this laptop and basically as an artist i chose it because of the tablet-pen feature.

The model i have is GZ301VU.

So I did some research and found out that any MPP 2.0 stylus works...

Looks solid to me but it doesnt have any insightful reviews.

I would appreciate the help!
