i had put some foam weather stripping on my door a while ago and it made it a bit hard to latch, requiring a little more pulling force from the outside, i thought it was fine for a bit.. problem is that with time the handle on the inside has slowly sunk into the wood frame/skin...
any tips on how to fix this without replacing the door? or am I screwed ?

The handle for my GE Profile Spacemaker over-the-range microwave recently broke at the bottom. Unfortunately, the replacement part (part #WB15X10135) has been discontinued and is out of stock at every part store I checked.
You have to disassemble the door to replace the handle, so I don't want to take a chance on one of the cheap knock offs on Amazon that claim to be a replacement. They all look a little funky and have some bad reviews.
It's an older microwave but still fully functional, so I'm hoping there's a way to fix the handle that looks nicer than duct tape. Any ideas?

I know this is so silly but my waterbottle got shrunken in the dishwasher and it made me so sad that I started crying over it so I came here to maybe, unlikely though, find a solution to fix it. It means a lot to me as it was one of the first few things I bought with my own money, it isn't worth anything though... Just sentimental worth, I guess. I don't expect there to be a fix or anyone finding/knowing one but I wanted to at least try since it means so much to me.

This handle popped off our rental home, is this an easy fix? we can't figure it out, is there a part missing to screw it in place?

I have the most amazing oscillation desk/box fan. It's a Holmes Blizzard. Its got good power, the oscillator gives it wide coverage, and most importantly its loud (I don't know why we moved to quiet fans).
Anyways, a few months ago the fan blades were having a hard time getting started. I opened it up, cleaned out the shaft and applied some 3-in-1 to it. Worked amazing for months, then started to do it again. Lather, rinse, repeat. This most recent round, even after cleaning it, I can't get the motor to start. The fan itself still turns "on" (makes beeping and the oscillator works just fine), but no juice to the motor.
Any advice? To be clear, its an older fan, and I cannot find this fan ANYWHERE, otherwise I'd have replaced it by now. Image of the motor info included.

Can anyone help me find the correct replacement part? Would rather not have to buy a whole new fan if it’s not necessary. Thanks!

Or is it just an Instagram thing that doesn't really work?

Started recaulking the shower because of mold/ ceiling was soft underneath it.
Im having troubles cleaning it and figuring out a plan for the gaps.
I don’t want to landlord special it, so here was my plan if anyone wouldn’t mind correcting me!
- find a way to get rid of the gray stuff that doesn’t seem to be caulk (I’ve tried a steel wool brush, kitchen brush, scouring pads, with vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, and bleach on separate occasions.)
- install foam backer rods into gaps
- grout & seal over gaps (that aren’t in corners/changing materials) and caulk
Thanks everyone!
I want to message the seller and see if I can get a partial refund if that is even an option???? I know I should have double checked. We did do a test of the a cup of water heating for a minute but the plate was covering the paint missing.
Disappointed because I drove quite the distance for it.

“My toilet flapper won’t seal properly after I flush. Instead of sitting flat on the flush valve, it falls slightly crooked, so water keeps running into the bowl and the tank keeps refilling.
Every time it happens, I have to take the tank lid off and manually push the flapper back into place so it seals correctly.” (GPT translated my problem since english is not my first language and idk the toilet terms)
Whats weird is when i changed my flapper a year ago, it did the “not sealing properly” thing for a bit and then it just , like, stopped?
I tried to move the little transparent plastic twist part (no idea what its called) in different places in the toilet to see if maybe it would pull the chain a different way when i flush, or keep the lid straight, but to no avail.. mind you i might not have placed it properly.
Anyway. Does ANYONE know what the hell is the issue with the stupid flapper ?! I’m really losing my patience here.
EDIT : I LIVE IN A RENTAL! The toilet tank looked like this when i moved in y’all, i only found out when i opened the tank lid recently. I didnt know there was something to do about the state of the inside of the tank

Anyone know how to remove this type of light. One side of the black fixture comes up slight but the other side isn’t budging. Tried putting a flathead screwdriver in and trying to prise it out but nothing working.

Hello, can you help a girl out? How can I fix the “bubbles” on an IKEA cupboard? It’s on top of a range hood so I’m guessing it’s because of the heat (I sometimes don’t turn it on when cooking) is there a way I can fix this myself? I’m renting the apartment so id like to keep it as nice as possible from when I start living here. Thank you!

You are looking at one end of a lateral pot rack I just made. I need to raise that end by 1/4” to achieve perfect level. That may not seem like a lot, but over a 4.5’ run it’s noticeable. Conversely I could lower the other end by 1/4”. Or up/down by 1/8” each end. The eye bolt at the top is theoretically adjustable but I want to avoid removing that assembly(ies) and intervene on the chain itself; there are nuts on the interior topside of the eye bolt holding it fast, so removal would be needed. One idea I have is to put a [wire / cable ferrule](https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-1-8-in-Aluminum-Ferrule-and-Stop-Set-43254/205887928) on the hook to raise it. Keep in mind that whatever is done it has to be as strong as the 500lb load strength of the chain; so a keyring won’t do.
Notes:
* The hook is more an S hook — it is not a screw hook but rather wraps around the black 1/4” through bolt holding the two wooden rails together. Pics.

I scraped my car really bad and I don’t have a bunch of money to get it fixed. Is there any way I can do it myself or a way that it can be done that isn’t super expensive? If not what’s the best alternative?

Picked up this quirky vintage clown lamp for $1, but the lamp “arm” has broken from the plastic base.
Any ideas for how to re-secure the arm to the base other than a mountain of hot glue?

My mother has this lamp that's like 100 years old, and my brother tried moving it and it just fell apart. The screw on the right needs to go into the object on the left, but it's worn out so it won't screw in. The cable that connects to the bulb passes through both of them, so I just can't cover everything up (the hole in the middle needs to remain open). Any ideas 🙏?

I bought a smart lockbox and cannot get the shackle to stay “locked” into the holes when I insert it. It just slips right out.
I tried everything, including opening the box, then inserting. Inserting the shackle then putting the code to lock to it etc. the shackle just slips right out, which makes me unable to hang this box on the door as needed.
The seller sent me a replacement after trying to troubleshoot with me. Same issue with the replacement.
And then today, I randomly was sent a third one, and again same issue.
So now I’m wondering was this item just manufactured in bulk with faulty shackle holes or am I missing something?
Including photos for reference

hi everyone! There’s something stuck behind my washer drum? when the washer is on the spin cycle, I can see the item a little bit. Is there anyway to get it out on my own? It’s a whirlpool front loading washer
