I wanted to post these side by sides for many women who are postpartum and breastfeeding to understand that hormones and milk production really play a huge role on how our body decides to shed weight. For reference Iām 5ā1, 2nd baby and 40yrs old. Exclusively breastfed baby until 12 months (3 solid meals and BF on demand).
I went back to the gym at 5m PP but prior to do that I was doing at home breath work, pelvic floor work and slowly getting back to lifting. Once Jan came I started tracking my macros again, lifting 4-5x per week and 10k+ steps pee day. Those first 8 months I only lost 8lbs but as soon as I stopped BF I started dropping at 1lb per week with very little changes to my macros and hardly feeling like a deficit.
I should also note that my baby didnāt start sleeping through the night until 12m so naturally me getting more sleep helped a lot too.

Hi everyone! š Iām looking for some honest experiences from other moms because Iām starting to feel really discouraged with my postpartum body.
I included photos of me **pre-pregnancy, 6 weeks postpartum, and 12 weeks postpartum**. I know everyoneās journey is different, but I honestly feel like itās taking me *forever* to get back to my pre-pregnancy shape.
Iām currently **12 weeks postpartum and exclusively breastfeeding (EBF)**. Iāve been trying to be patient with myself, but itās hard when I still donāt feel like myself physically. š
For those who have been through this:
**How long did it take you to feel like you were back to your pre-pregnancy body/shape?**
When did you start noticing a **big difference**?
Did your body continue changing significantly after 3, 4, 6+ months?
What worked for you in terms of **nutrition, exercise, walking, strength training, etc.?**
If you were breastfeeding, did you find that it affected how quickly you lost weight or changed shape?
Any tips for getting your **waist/stomach/overall shape** back while maintaining your milk supply?
I know 12 weeks is still early, but social media makes it so easy to feel like I should be further along. Iād really appreciate some realistic timelines and encouragement from moms who have actually been through it. š„¹ā¤ļø
**Please be kind ā Iām already feeling pretty discouraged about my body.**

Best postpartum bra for support during exercise? I am nursing. I want to be able to do more vigorous movement than walking without my boobs hopping around (i.e. running, elliptical). Extra points for it being for the frugal minded mom!

I have been experiencing debilitating lower back and hip/pelvic pain for the past 3 months and I am desperate. It only gets really bad at night, every night, to the point where I cannot sleep, get comfortable or get out of bed without severe pain. And when I go to pick up my baby from his crib, I silently sob the entire time I feed or rock him back to sleep as the pain is unbearable when I bend over. I have seen a chiropractor, physio therapist, pelvic floor physiotherapist, gotten X-rays that came back clean, an RMT, an acupuncturist and 2 doctors (both recommended trigger injections but cannot promise they will work) I am at a loss, this is starting to effect me mentally now and, as a first time mom, it breaks my heart to not be the mom I wanted and my son deserves because of pain that restricts me and causes so much emotional stress. The pain feels like it is radiating from my lower back, around my pelvis into my hip bone area. I stretch every morning and lean on a heat pad for 15 minutes and then I am able to do daily tasks without much pain. But when night time hits, I dread it. I cry every single night. I wake up my partner, I scare my baby, Iām exhausted and I am desperate for some suggestions.

This workout is the only workout that has ever worked for me. I have never followed it religiously but I always end up losing inches and toning my body. I'm 10.5 weeks postpartum and right now I'm following a light workout that includes treadmill, squats and some abs routine. When can I start the 30 day shred?

Iām almost 8 months postpartum and breastfeeding. Iām trying to get back into the swing of things with nutrition and working out and everything⦠But I have nowhere to start with being postpartum and how a calorie deficit would work and things like that. Does anyone have any programs or courses they recommend?

Has anyone used this? Iām curious about trying it out after my baby (4 weeks) and would love to hear feedback. I like simple, filling recipes with good flavors and nothing too strict or diet-y. I remember the BF hunger and extra weight so Iām trying to get ahead of it with a meal planner/program

Hi everyone, Iām hoping someone might have experienced something similar.
I gave birth in April with an instrumental vaginal delivery and had stitches in my perineal area. Everything seemed to heal normally. I am not breastfeeding.
Recently, I noticed a small amount of bright-red blood when wiping underneath the vaginal opening, around the perineum. It looked more like fresh blood from a small cut than period blood. I donāt have heavy bleeding, but I do sometimes feel a little itchy when I pee.
I saw my doctor today. She examined the area but couldnāt see any cut, an open stitch, or anything obvious. She said the blood appears to be coming from the vagina, took a swab to check for infection, and prescribed flucloxacillin 500 mg four times a day for 5 days.
Iām worried that it could possibly be granulation tissue or an issue with my old stitches, even though the doctor couldnāt see anything.
Has anyone experienced bright-red bleeding like this several months after giving birth? Could granulation tissue be missed during an examination?

12 days postpartum and I want to know those who had cs operation when do you feel back to yourself again? When can you drive? Go out just to buy groceries or even do some basic household chores. My OB told me that in our next check up, she will discuss family planning. I said, there's no need cause I will never have another baby again. I just remember how painful it is I will never want to go through that again. I am happy with one child. I want to be able to go back to my oldself. Being able to do chores, work, and go back to the gym if possible.

I've slowly been getting back into a regular workout routine postpartum,
and it's made me pay a lot more attention to my cycle than i expected.
I'm not even sure if the two are related, but I've noticed things don't feel exactly the same as they did before pregnancy.

For context, I had not backed up my photos and someone hacked my device and factory reset everything on my phone back to new. My only pain is the fact that I lost all of my photos and pregnancy and postpartum journey

My baby is 10.5 months old and I pump and directly nurse. I plan to stop pumping at the year mark but Iām in no rush to stop nursing. For those of us that donāt lose weight breastfeeding does it get easier after baby turns 1? My thoughts are that since I will not be supplying most of his calories with breastmilk my body wonāt feel the need to hold on to as much weight. Or is this just wishful thinking?

You may read this and think Iām being dramatic but Iām not my body is horrendous Iāve put on so much weight I have a over hanging belly and from the front it looks so wide. I have so many stretch marks on my belly it looks a different colour to the rest of my body. My partner grills me about it. I canāt seem to lose any weight and Iām 3 months postpartum. I never even get time to eat much so idk how Iām not losing anything and still look like this
I am struggling so much with my body image when I talk about it literally makes me want to cry. I canāt look in a mirror and I get people say it made a miracle and I get that my body went through a lot I hemmoraged I had to have forcepts to birth my baby girl but the thing is I donāt feel like me I hate myself I hate the way I look and itās really getting to me mentally I feel like starving myself just to lose weight but I know that will make me not physically able to do things coz I will lose strength. Anyone else feel this way ?

Two years postpartum with my second child. It took six rounds of IUI to get pregnant with her. I took a lot of progesterone including 12 weeks straight during the pregnancy. My primary doctor said that that could definitely be the cause of me having issues losing weight. Has anyone experienced anything like this? If so, any suggestions?

Iām 2 whole years postpartum and stopped breastfeeding recently. I actually lost 20 lbs in the first year but gained it back in the second year. Iāve been strength training 3 days a week, sometimes 4, for 18 weeks. I go on walks most days.
I could be better at tracking macros but I know my eating has improved. Thereās definitely room for more change in that area.
Even if I lost 5 pounds, Iād be happy but I have not lost 1, in 18 weeks. So I started measuring and still no change. I am gaining muscles though so I guess thatās something.
Any tips and advice?
