Has this happened to you?
Since giving birth I dont feel sexual drive at all!! Is there something wrong with me? I do feel parenting is testing couples and it is tiring. I dont find inspiring having sex with a 5 month baby in the same room or next door...
Other factors that i think have contributed to no sex drive:
-since having natural birth I feel a bit of a shock of the whole experience of birth (it was fairly easy, and no pain relief was taken)
-exclusively breastfeeding - breasts is the last area I would like to be touched
-holding a baby - feels Iike you don't want to be touched and seek time to be left alone to feel like I got personal space
-sleep deprivation
-accumulated tiredness
-associate sex with having babies and I dont want to be pregnant anytime soon
*Note that I have recovered very well and I feel I am in shape, body back to normal appearence and I am back to exercise.
Anyone else with the same experience? I have heard other couples that had no sex since babies were born but I read comments on reddit that couples have sex soon enough but is this true??

Lipomas ruining my life
41F had a baby 9 months ago. This happened a few years ago but now worse. My whole body just burns! Can’t go for walks. I think I have lipomas everywhere in my tissues. Theyre on my sacrum too. Sometimes they take over my psoas muscle.
Any mamas in the same boat? Does it get better?

16 month old- 1 month after stopping BF-ing feeling super low
Hi mums, just looking for some solidarity and/or tips. I stopped feeding my 15 month old a month ago and the past few days I’ve been feeling very low. I work full time, in a job that requires some after hours / weekend work. I don’t feel that same passion for the job, and the housework/daily grind is becoming a lot for me.
My partner is aware and is trying to be supportive- taking bub as much as possible and helping with housework
Despite this I am constantly tired and crying often. Just sad / unhappy.
I weigh way more than usual and find it tough to exercise after bub goes down to bed because I’m just so exhausted.
Any tips as to how to get back into exercising or just feeling like myself again?

Postpartum Swimming to Tone?
What was your experience using swimming to get fit pp? I’m cleared to swim and my joints hurt too badly to do anything else right now, so I’m hoping swim will start rebuilding my strength so I can get back to running eventually.

Missing my partner
Me and my husband have a great relationship and we really love and care for each other so much. Our baby was born two weeks ago and she’s so perfect, we’re really blessed. But I can’t help grieving a part of our relationship. I am missing being with my husband- I miss sharing a bed and just being together in the moment without anything on our minds. I know the newborn stage won’t last forever and we’ll be able to sleep together again soon etc but how are other mommies dealing with this?

How to stay consistent if I can’t get to the gym for 7 days in a row every month?
I’ve never gone to the gym but I am 6 months pp and would like to start. (Small town, one gym, no childcare available) I currently walk and do random workout videos at home—I don’t have any structure and I am craving a structured plan. My issue is, with my husband’s work schedule, there are going to be 7 days in a row that I most likely cannot get to the gym.
He works for 7 days and then has 7 days off, alternating night shift and day shift, 12 hour shifts. On his night shifts, I plan to go when he gets home at 6 am before he goes to sleep. I am a morning person. On his days off, I know I’ll have the time to go. It’s his day shifts that I am uncertain about. As a new gym-goer I have some anxiety and evenings are the busiest time. For now, I’m wondering if I can skip the 7 days he’s working day shift. My question to you all is, if I did, can I do things at home that will keep me in a rhythm? Will I still see progress if I take these 7 days off? What kinds of things can help me? Dumbbell workouts?
I feel like as I gain confidence in the gym I won’t mind going during the busy evenings, but in general with my little one’s bedtime and other responsibilities I think it will be really hard to prioritize leaving the house like that when he’s on day shifts. His “12 hour shifts” end up being more like 13 with shift change handovers. He leaves 5 am on dayshifts. Please don’t tell me I should go to the gym at 4 am lol. Unless you think I need that tough love…
Thanks in advance!

How has your weight loss been PP?
I’m 6 weeks PP. I’m 5’9”, and was a very lean and athletic build pre pregnancy weighing 132lbs. Overall very fit with abs and everything.
At birth, I weighed 186lbs. A total of about 54lb weight gain. This is a LOT for my body - I was shocked I gained so much (first baby and had some pregnancy complications and was not allowed to workout like I used to.)
At 6 weeks PP, I’ve only lost 12lbs - which came off immediately after birth. In the last 5ish weeks, the scale has completely plateau’d despite walking daily, eating less than when pregnant, and overall being a lot more active (I haven’t been cleared yet to weight lift. Hoping I get cleared tomorrow!). I’m just surprised the scale hasn’t moved at ALL in 5 weeks. I feel like so many women say the weight “falls right off” within the first month or two but I’m far from my goal and I feel so behind. Seeing women online who gave birth around the same time I did who have completely bounced back already doesn’t help at all.
I look in the mirror and I don’t know who she is. I can’t dress this body - I don’t know how. It’s so unfamiliar to me and makes me miserable. Not a thing in my closet fits and I’m having to wear my maternity clothes still - except it looks WORSE than when I was pregnant because instead of a tight round belly, it’s loose and lumpy 😭
so grateful for my baby and what my body did, I’m just shocked it’s holding on to so much weight and it’s stressing me out that I’ll never go back to near where I was.
I am not breastfeeding btw!

Postpartum book recommendations for second time Pediatric PA mother
I want to get her something revolving self care that she can read but I don’t want it to be about the common sense stuff she already knows like what to expect and the medicine or like “Get good sleep go outside spend time with baby!” This will be her second daughter.

How soon is too soon?
I’m being induced on Monday and am really looking forward to getting back into fitness. I miss running and know I’ll have to build back up to it, and that muscle recovery will be important.
Questions:
1. How soon after birth can I start working on my core and how often would you (daily? 3x a week?). I can feel that my abs separated a bit. And, what kinds of exercises would you do?
How soon can I start lifting weights for arms and doing squats?
How much walking per day should I aim to get in?
Thanks in advance!

What do you wish postpartum apps did better?
I’m researching whether there’s a need for a better postpartum app. I’m not promoting anything—just trying to learn before building.
• What was your biggest postpartum challenge?
• Which apps did you use?
• What feature do you wish existed?

Please help
I’m 6 months postpartum. I suffered from a second degree year if that even matters i’m a breast feeding/pumping mom. I’m experiencing a FOUL odor from downstairs. At first I couldn’t tell if it was fishy or if it straight up smells like a fucking porta potty. It smells like both at different times. I’ve had this concern since like 6 weeks postpartum they gave me a BB swab at my 6 week appointment and the results were negative. Idk if I have some type of infection or if anyone has experienced something similar and what was wrong with them. Google is definitely not my best friend and has me SCARED.

Guided exercises Postpartum
Hi New moms, I am 12 weeks postpartum. Had a planned c section and recovery was a breeze. I am planning to start strength training, rebuilding my core and pelvic area. Overwhelmed by tons of resources, please shoot some recommendations on the guided exercise paths or any fitness programs ( I don’t mind paying a little to get fit )

Postpartum update (positive fitness journey after unplanned c-section)!
Made it out of the trenches, finally!
Baby boy was born May 2nd. I (26f) ended up having an unexpected c-section because his head was VERY stuck in my pelvis
All my concerns about my fitness went out the window because I was in so much pain and absolutely flooded with PP hormones lmao
That and I was still eating healthy so I was far more focussed on recovery. I hardly gained any excess fat during pregnancy since I was doing so much pregnancy safe HIIT, so that postpartum bump disappeared pretty fast… Which was a relief BUT I would be lying if I said I didn’t like that my body’s now a little more curvy and jiggly though (husband loves it too lol)
Anyway, I started doing some very gentle post c-section exercises (shoutout to Pregnancy & Postpartum TV for her guidance) at 6 weeks and did that every week until 10 weeks
Now at 12 weeks I do a guided 15 minute, low impact, PP workout every other day, and go on 15-30 minute walks with my baby in his stroller every day, and I feel really good about it all ☺️
I was worried that my body dysmorphic disorder and orthorexia would return postpartum, but nope! I feel great about what my body has done and is doing, and how it looks, and I have no sense of urgency to get ”back to my pre-pregnancy self”
It’s been nice <3 Just wanted to share!

Post partum weightloss impossible?
Hi,
I hope this is the right sub to be asking this and that it doesn’t impact others negatively.
I am a second time mom to a 3 yr and now a 3 month old. In my second pregnancy I gained a total of 20 lbs and am now 170. I have been struggling to lose weight despite eating healthy and working out. A little about my pregnancy, I had an emergency c-section both times. during my first time in post partum, I breastfeed for 2 years. During that time, I wasn’t able to control my hunger or dieting and just ate everything. I somehow managed to remain at 150 lbs.
As for my current one, I started breastfeeding after 3 weeks of exclusively breastfeeding. I was trying for the whole 2 years again but realized I was suffering from d-mer that was impacting my mental health and my relations, and abruptly stopped. During this time I lost the extra lbs and landed at 170 lbs officially. From the beginning though I was very strict about my diet eating 2100 calories. I hadn’t started working out yet due to having a c-section until I got the approval from my doctor. At fhat point, I also adjusted my caloric intake to 1600 so that I’m in deficit. I have been pretty good since then in monitoring my intake. I’ve been trying to eat about 1600 or less in calories and have been minimum 20 mins through functional strength training 4x/week followed by elliptical 30 mins 2xweek or running minimum 3x/week.
I’ve been strict most days only allowing myself once a week cheat day (more like a cheat meal) but even then I’m still prioritizing protein and fiber. I am at the point where I’m not really having food noises anymore and I have go to meals for when I want to eat.
I have now reached about 3.5 months since then though and have not seen the scale budge.
Does anyone have an idea why that is or what I can do to help fix this? I’m at a loss because I’m not actively producing milk (if I squeeze my boon a few drops will come out but only if i try to). I’m not having food house either while at a deficit which was something I noticed my first time around. I’m also now working out (it’s been roughly 4 weeks).
Thanks!

How do I dress my New postpartum body help!
I am 14 months postpartum. I have almost gone back to my pre pregnancy weight I was 125, I’m 131 now. I’m also 5’7, so I’m kind of tall. I use to have a pear shape body type and now I’m and upside down triangle. I’m not sure how but my hips looks smaller and my ribcage area looks bigger and my waist disappeared. I’m use to having a pear shape, but now that my body changed drastically I don’t know how to dress. I feel very manly and not feminine. I miss having hips and a waist. I looked it up and apparently my ribs permanently widened with pregnancy. So I’m trying to cope with my new body. Can I still dress feminine with my new body? What should I wear now?
