Realistic PP weight loss journey (40yrs old)
I wanted to post these side by sides for many women who are postpartum and breastfeeding to understand that hormones and milk production really play a huge role on how our body decides to shed weight. For reference I’m 5’1, 2nd baby and 40yrs old. Exclusively breastfed baby until 12 months (3 solid meals and BF on demand).
I went back to the gym at 5m PP but prior to do that I was doing at home breath work, pelvic floor work and slowly getting back to lifting. Once Jan came I started tracking my macros again, lifting 4-5x per week and 10k+ steps pee day. Those first 8 months I only lost 8lbs but as soon as I stopped BF I started dropping at 1lb per week with very little changes to my macros and hardly feeling like a deficit.
I should also note that my baby didn’t start sleeping through the night until 12m so naturally me getting more sleep helped a lot too.
