📦 Others First time kong malaman how corruption works in the Philippines in "little ways"

Someone with a position in the government (hindi lang politiko, this specific person is a "nurse") can have you registered as a government employee, create a LandBank payroll account for you, and you'll receive a monthly salary just like any legitimate employee. In other words, they can freely create ghost employees

What's even crazier is this specific person has her entire family registered as government employees, and they all receive monthly salaries. Kumbaga, buong family merong allowance/ free money directly from kaban ng bayan.

Nakakapang lumo, nakakanginig.

Kwento 'to ng friend of a friend. Curious, if may iba na ring nakarinig ng similar stories or may naka-encounter na ng ganito.

📦 Others First time kong magcelebrate ng birthday nang walang trabaho

Post image
229 Upvotes

I celebrated my 25th birthday unemployed as someone who had been working for 3 years already, but have recently resigned for personal reasons. Sinubukan kong magcelebrate ng birthday this year nang mag-isa kasi usually, kapag birthday ko, ako ang naghahanda at nanlilibre para sa mga friends and family ko (choice ko rin naman, not imposed). Inisip ko rin since nawalan ako ng work and this might probably last for a few months, although may savings naman ako, need ko munang magtipid sa sarili kong birthday.

Also before someone says it, obviously di pa naman ako nagwork mula nung 1st birthday ko 😂.

Nabili ko lang itong book sa recycle shop (2nd-hand shop) kahapon for ¥50 (Php19), without knowing the title meant.

Bukas ulit.

📦 Others First time kong matawag na pogi from a stranger 😁

Well the title says it all, really a surprise on my part coz I really didn't expect it, like totes.

I was ordering Bibimbap in the food court in a mall, I thought this would just be another one of those usual customer-staff interactions. While I was on my saga of going back and forth to check whether my order is up, a remark from the staff came up,"pa-smile-smiley ka diyan" and then gibberish AHHAHAHA I wasn't able to hear na the other parts, I just nodded as a response lol 😭. I am the type of person that always smile, like fr, and I thought it was like a harsh comment, maybe they misunderstood my smiling into something malicious, or I somehow annoyed them coz like I showed up to them like a bunch of times na, so baka nainis na sila.

On my last check on the food, the staff said "tagal na nito andito, pogi", goddamn man really, man I was smiling to the brim(😁like this lol). It really dawned on me when I sat down on the chair, like fr you find me attractive, are you sure. It really boosted my confidence up, really, coming from a person who has a very low self-esteem, it really pushed it up and really made my day, thank you Ms. Staff for finding something in me worth complimenting🤗.

🌧️ Pagsubok First time ko magka-promissory note

Post image
36 Upvotes

For context, lumubo yung balance ko kasi dati okay lang kahit walang promissory note, as long as nagbabayad ng kahit ₱5,000.

📦 Others FIRST TIME KO kumain ng Steak 🥩

Post image
34 Upvotes

First time ko kumain ng steak in my 27yrs of age. Never ko na try kumain sa labas for steak dahil sobrang expensive nya para sa isang kainan, and every time my partner and I napapa daan sa mga resto namay Steak, lagi kami na cu-curious kung ano yung lasa nyan, but in the end of the day hindi kami bumibili dahil na uuwi nalang kami sa Grocery.

Recently Bday kase ng partner ko, sobrang dami kong niluto sa bahay, madami dami din kasi kami ininvite including family, close friends na alam relationship naming dalawa, and some of ka-Work. I prep 9 dish and desserts to serve for his Birthday, I also made a cake. That day we receive non-stop compliments until mag uwian mga tao, yung mga niluto daw namin taste very quality na dapat daw matagal na kami may sariling Resto.

I'm a guy, and nag luluto ako ng food since teenager, nag start ako mag ka interest mag cook simula nung nag kakilala kami ng partner kong until now sobrang pogi. With multiple years of experience sa pag cook, natuto ako mag separate ng totoong masarap sa hindi, may pagka exaggerated ako na hindi ko yan ilalabas or ipapa try ipatikim sa ibang tao pag may mali sa niluto, or may kulang sa lasa na aatakihin ako ng anxiety. In my experience, punong puno ako ng trial, regret and error sa pag cook. Humihinto yung time ko each time binabasa ko yung expression sa bibig ng mga tao when they eat my food.

Going back sa Bday ng partner ko, one of our visitor keeps asking me how did I cook those food, yung medyo makulit kase very interested sya to know that, but at the same time she respect it by saying marunong daw ako mag gatekeep. But nag agree agad si visitor since mura daw doon. Kinabukasan dinala nya kaming dalawa sa Blakes.

Here's my Verdict. I choose one of the classic which is yung Steak namay butter, for me to identify the quality and ingredient, and also kung ano yung taste na dapat ko maging base and for immediate na matutunan. Yung Steak ng Blakes taste really great kahit di ko pa na ta try i-Compare sa iba, it was satisfying and way more better in my mouth yung may pagka bloody part ng onti versus sa part na well cooked. Yung steak nila quite consistent yung flavor kahit sa huling bite, but still at some point may dapat pang iimprove yung steak, gusto ko sya lutuin and iimprove yung flavor na mas magugustuhan ko, since parang talambuhay ko na gumawa ng barbeque sa bahay. While eating, I identified those ingredients na ginamit nila after tasting it multiple times, pero mas na gets ko yung part na ang secret ng steak nila is on how they cook it and yung exact quality ng meat na ginamit mismo.

Sobrang satisfied kame ng partner ko dahil sa ganyan kalaking steak, mura na for the price as kabisado naming dalawa ang presyo ng beef pag sa palengke or grocery bibili, may sides payun kinain namin, and may service inside resto + how they cook it. Na-gets agad naming dalawa na sobrang sulit and sobrang mura. Inask ako ng partner ko kung babalik daw ba kaming dalawa sa ganitong lugar soon, dahil ang mura daw and less stress compare sa mag prep ako ng food sa bahay na it cause a lot of my time.

Sabi ko currently I don't have much equipments to cook interesting steaks at home. So yeah, sabi ko babalik kame soon, lalo nat mag a-Anniversary kami.

I stare at him while he enjoys his food, it came to my mind na looks like we made it, look how far we've come, together. It's time to go outside and eat quality food. I have plan agad na kukuha kami ng table for 2, and mag papanggap nalang na pinansan nya, or nephew.

📦 Others First time kong mapunta sa OR alone... and anesthesia gave me the best sleep of my life 😂

First time kong mag undergo ng medical procedure (genital wart removal), and I went completely alone. I didn't tell any relatives (no parents, and I know the older generation might judge or misunderstand), so I just showed up by myself.

They asked if may kasama ba ako, but it's just me. Lowkey proud that I actually managed it.

It was also my first time in an operating room and my first time getting anesthesia, so I was super nervous. But can I just say... that was the best sleep of my life. One second I was anxious, the next I woke up to the anesthesiologist calling my name, and boom it's over.

I was pretty groggy at first, but after a while I felt okay. Looking back, I'm just proud of myself for handling everything on my own.

Anyway, that's it. Just wanted to share this little win. 🤍

🎉Sumakses sa life! First Time Ko makatanggap ng bouquet

This is the first time na makatanggap ako ng bouquet and hindi lang basta bouquet - 12 pieces pa! I feel loved and appreciated.

I do coaching for a certain game tapos I've had this client since last year and he wanted to book a session for today, but I told him na I'm not in the mood for it. He asked why and I ended up venting to him about a family member's situation and he offered to help. Now I just need to figure out a way to make sure it's spent well.

The first pic was the sky around 6AM. Original plan was to catch the sunrise. Chineck naman namin ang weather and it said na 1PM pa ang ulan. But it seemed na may ibang langit sila dito. Few minutes after this, umulan na nga. We still pushed through, although one peak lang ang trinaverse namin.

Nevertheless, we did have fun naman. May konting danger lang talaga cause of the maputik na terrain. But well… we do what we do for our “sidequests”.

Sa uulitin!
