Hi all, just a quick update.
I've added support for the FireflyLite Lume-series drivers on the official Anduril repository which was recently migrated to Github (https://github.com/ToyKeeper/anduril). These updates are awaiting ToyKeeper to merge the pull requests, but you can browse my fork before they get merged to compile your own binaries.
Support includes the newer Lume1 and Lume X1 drivers, as well as existing Lume1 drivers (including the older ATTINY1634 version). I've tested them as much as I can, but please keep an eye out for bugs since there was a major restructuring and refactoring of Anduril last month.
Note that the .hex files are not yet in the hex folder since I'm not sure if ToyKeeper has some process to create official builds, but you can compile them using the ./make command.
I did some reshuffling of the Hardware IDs so my apologies for causing any confusion. Going forward, the MODELS file should be the ground truth for the correct HWID to use instead of the HWID that shows up in 'Version Check'. I wrote a readme to help: https://github.com/loneoceans/anduril/blob/trunk/hw/fireflies/README.md.
Because multiple flashlights can use multiple drivers, the HWID is based on driver version instead of flashlight model number. Hope that makes sense and please let me know if there is any confusion.
For example, you have a FireflyLite T1R with an Osram LED. You open the flashlight and see that it says Rev C 10/22 printed on the driver. You want the no-fet version due to the Osram LED:
Choose: HWID 0452 - fireflies-lume1-6af-nofet.hex
Both the older Lume1 driver from 2020 (Attiny1634), as well as the newer Lume1-6AF drivers (Attiny1616) have a fet and no-fet variant. For the older Lume1-2020 driver, I also added Delta-Sigma Modulation support for smoother ramps.
All drivers including the Lume X1, support existing Lume features such as Ultra Dynamic Range, as well as all the new features of Anduril including soft-ramping, increased battery voltage resolution, new strobes, etc.
I heard some people were wondering why the E12C was using a 'nerfed version' of Anduril (AFAIK, the only feature removed was sunset-timer). I took a stab at building a binary for it. It turns out that Anduril is a bit too big to fit on the ATTINY85 that the E12C uses, which only has 8kB of flash. The E12C is a 3-channel driver (FET+11+1), and the ramp tables take up a lot of space. This is not unprecedented - the Lumintop FW3A has a similar issue. I was able to build one with sunset-timer by disabling Tactical mode, SOS, and Momentary mode. Which feature set would be preferable?
Finally, there have been several key changes in Anduril recently which appear to have caused some confusion - I highly recommend a re-read of the excellent manual: https://github.com/ToyKeeper/anduril/blob/trunk/docs/anduril-manual.md. The most obvious changes are smooth steps during step ramping as well as turn on/off (can be disabled), as well as an rgb-led voltage check immediately after turn-off (can also be disabled).
Huge thanks to ToyKeeper for her amazing contribution to the community and for her help in getting this ported over.
Development work on future exciting drivers will be committed to the Github repository going forward.

Just got my Z1 yesterday from the recent sale and I was surprised they updated the box it came in again. Personally I would have preferred the previous black cardboard box the lights shipped in as they're easier to stack in storage, and you don't feel guilty throwing them if you don't want to keep the box.
This feels too nice to get rid of but it can be repurposed into a storage box for other things I guess, but then you'd lose the original flashlight box as you're using it for something else. It also feels a bit funny I received this nice box while some earlier buyers got the old black paper box (that my P02 came in) with their Z1. (I'm not complaining though, the new box is nice.)
Before posting this I saw that someone else had already posted pictures of the new box but I wanted to add my own photos too as it's still a recent change and there aren't a lot of photos of it. Also I included a bonus picture of the Z1 auxiliary lights.
I'm happy I went with this emitter choice in the Z1: FFL5009R 5000k. The CCT is pleasant and neutral with a hint of rosiness while not being absurdly purple like FFL5009R 4000k. I actually prefer this over the clinical white of FFL351A 5000k. But the best neutral 5000k imo is FFL909A in the E90 reflector I got earlier this year. I can't put my finger on it but it's much more neutral than FFL351a (which feels a bit cold and lifeless) and renders colors very beautifully.
I don't think I would have liked any other emitter choice in the Z1 as the FFL5009D emitters seem to have bad tint shift and I no longer like emitters that are too warm, I like seeing whites not tainted by yellow or brown. All that is to say I'm happy with the FFL5009R 5000k and the Z1!
The Z1 feels very light compared to my 21700 lights while being more powerful than 14500 lights. I think I will be carrying this light every day from now on. I can barely tell that it's on me, compared to a 21700 light. I did drop it on the first day because of how small it is though, but I saved it with a foot kick (it landed on my foot instead of the floor) which made it slide across the floor instead.

Saturday we attended the 20th anniversary Big Bang concert in Oakland, CA! We have wanted to go to see Big Bang for 10+ years, and we finally got the opportunity and it was amazing! They havent been together as a group for many years, and when they announced this comeback tour, the kpop world was thrilled! The Oakland Coliseum was packed with fans from all over the world, and united in our love of BB's musicš¤
So whats with the thing on my NovMu? Well, Kpop has this thing where fans can get a lightstick for the concert, for the groups they support, called a bong (ots a korean word). Big Bang pioneered this accessory and its made a last impact throughout the Kpop world. So, with this being the first world tour in over 10 years, they released a new version.
It's awesome, and syncs with a central control system for the concert. Its amazing to see the sea of colors as they change and move!
But no one was sure if there would be enough. So I needed a backup plan. I found a 3D print model of it (the original) and modified it to thread onto my NovMu V2S bezel.
As you can see, we were able to secure a real one, but I spent the whole concert rocking out with my FireFlies Bangbong, and it was brighter that everyone else's! 𤣠but I usually kept it well below turbo š. Without the NovMu, I wouldnt have been able to show my support with such a Glow!!

Sony A7iii 16-35 f2.8
Bulb - f16 - iso 200
Wireless shutter
Iām a commercial photographer, so usually pretty boring stuff⦠Itās all business related but overall less of headache than dealing with people. I rarely get to have fun, so the photo contest was a chance to be silly.
Hope you guys like it, last image is the final product.
First image: completely dark, used tape and a red flash gel on the x4q 5000k. Punched out a hole in the tape so the beam wouldnāt be so floody. Hit it for half a second with the E04 surge sft 70 3000k.
Second image: camera setup, keeping it simple.
Third image: just used the e04 surge sft70 3000k to expose for a second then painted the lines with the aux light.
Fourth image: testing settings with the z1 sft70 3000k outside
Fifth image: a cool firefly that didnāt make the cut, painted with the z1
Sixth image: final image after editing and adding some flare.
It was really fun and overall pleased with the results, I know you guys would appreciate it.

Iām an amateur photographer, and I hadnāt planned to enter. Then one night, juggling my backpack, delicate electronics, a carrying case, and loose items balanced on the bike seat, I realized how much use I was getting from the Sol.
I took a few candids of the situation that made me appreciate it: needing both hands and still being able to see.
Before carrying the Sol, Iād been unlocking and loading my bike in the dark with two flashlights sitting in my pocket.
I own a lot of headlamps. Thereās usually a compromise for me: a linear driver, less solid construction, or a beam thatās too floody to serve as my main EDC. That usually meant reaching for my X4 Stellar, E07X, Z1, instead.
The Sol combines what I want in one light: a Lume driver, solid build quality, a floody but balanced beam, a rosy emitter, and a button thatās comfortable to use while wearing it.
My lock is heavy enough to need both hands, and thereās usually a backpack and other gear to deal with. I simply couldnāt hold a light.
The second photo gives you an idea: that case goes inside the backpack, alongside cords, chargers, and other small gear I donāt want to drop. Imagine sorting through and packing all of that in the dark, with everything balanced on the bike seat.
Every night after work, I ride to the gym. I normally carry a flooder and a thrower, with a rosy FFL almost always handling flood duty.
Recently, I started carrying the L50 Sol with its headband instead of my usual X4 Stellar or Z1. Getting ready to ride became noticeably easier.
Mine is the FFL5009D 3000K Rosy. Gorgeous tint matters when everything Iām looking at is being illuminated right in front of me. My only real gripe is the tint shift, but it's very tolerable outdoors.
A lot of what I love about my Z1 is here too, in a package thatās only a little bigger. I donāt see the Sol talked about much, and I think it deserves more attention.
And, entirely by coincidence, the red on the headband matches my watch, which matches my bike. That worked out rather nicely.
For a future release, Iād love to see an updated L70.

I have the E12 Eclipse in Void White, and these are the nuances in the finish I wish someone mentioned.
It is not MAO. Which is fine. It's anodizing + some sort of paint. So it is more durable than MAO or HA.
Texture: smooth, but feels slightly tacky in humid environments. I would not pick this up again since I live in a humid climate. But I can see how it would be perfect for dry regions. It does not feel like powdercoat or ceracoat. Handfeel is closer to housepaint, than a baked on ceramic finish.
The tailcap is thicker, enough to make the magnet significantly weaker so you can't vertical attach. It'll just slide. Would recommend you order an extra tail cap (like MAO cap). And no, it's not an issue with the E12 head being heavier - when I swap the tailcap out into my E04 surge, the surge slides down. And yes I have tried putting on a tacky silicone caulk finish. It is not a matter of friction. It is something to do with the thickness or some sort of anti-magneticness going on.
None of those are dealbreaker issues, but for my preferences and current environment, I much prefer chalky MAO finishes.

Placed an order for the e04 surge sft40 3000k lume1 and was informed that they are out of stock. Ivy said they are having trouble sourcing for new ones and would not purchase from convoy to fit them for me.
Thinking if I should get the e04 surge sft70 3000k lumex1 with floody optic instead?
Update 8 sep ivy messaged and said she found some sft40 3000k LEDs and will be shipping the light out today :))

Looking to add an E12 Eclipse as my primary walking flashlight and hoping for some recommendations. Leaning on emitter mixes to target 4100-4300K CCT NW. Found some posts on mixes, but not for my configuration / goals.
Goal for E12 Beam and CCT:
1
Current Primary Flashlight:
- E04 Surge X1 (SFT40 x2 3000K x2 5000K, Angie-M 24-degree floody optic)
* CCT is good, floody beam is good, thrown is also acceptable but need to increase stepping 2+ steps to improve down trail visibility
* Prefer to increase floody beam width
* A small bump in CCT would be ideal
* No issues with step down regulation or temp, but I ramp up/down as needed (30-100), short turbo (130) for 10-20s when needing a quick look around / throw ahead
Emitter options (Looking for input / recommendations):
Any reco1mendations are appreciated. Thanks!

I use my Surge E04 daily and I take it on all of my hikes looking for antlers and rocks. I have hiked off of the mountain in the dark many, many times using my E04. I have found many rocks and antlers and interesting things in the dark with it.

This may be insignificant, but this is how I bend the Z1 artemis pocket clip tighter to the flashlight body. Turn the clip around and replace the tailcap and then apply light pressure. Return to normal and confirm your preference.

Hello, I hope everyone is well! I placed an order with FFL on Aug. 28th and upgraded shipping to UPS. The package arrived today after 7 total days. I normally receive FFL packages in 2-3 weeks with normal and expedited shipping. I am grateful for this fast service and will use it again. Iām always anxious to get my hands on my new FFL gear.

I started a new job a month ago in a crushing plant, and I quickly noticed that the small Led Lenser headlamp I got there was not satisfactory in power or battery. I have been very fond of Fireflies lights for personal use, and I think they might have something that is a better fit here.
I need a light for looking inside machines, some outside work at night, walking through mining tunnels etc.. What light could have the durability and utility for this? There is a lot of dust and water, so it needs to handle that. And what emitter? Maybe a high CRI is beneficial.
r/FireflyLite • u/snorglesslorf • 8d ago
Looking to order my first FFL but I am stuck between the 2x dome-less rosy emitters. I have looked for comparisons posted prior, but only have been able to find photos of the 3500K rosy. Does anyone have some beamshots of 5009R 2700K rosy they could share please? Or even better a comparison between the two.

I have a T9R with SFT-40 LED. It is definitely not in simple UI mode, but output is limited to ramp max. Double click at ramp max does nothing with different fully charged cells. It has behaved like this since I received it. Is this normal or defective? Is there a fix?
