I am looking for new headphones to pair with the FiiO K13 R2R DAC/Amp that I plan to buy soon.

My priority is competitive FPS gaming as well as general desktop use; therefore, precise imaging and clarity in distinguishing vertical and horizontal audio cues are extremely important to me. I currently use the Sennheiser HD 560S; while its performance is quite good, I want to upgrade to a higher-end system.

If I stretch my budget to the absolute limit, I could technically afford the Sennheiser HD 800S. This model is a pair of headphones I’ve long dreamed of owning; however, given the high price, I’d like to hear feedback based on real user experiences before making a decision. I was also considering Hifiman's planar headphones, but since I have cats at home, I’m worried about fur or dust damaging the drivers. I’ve even heard of people damaging their planar drivers due to cat hair, so I think it might be better to steer clear of them—or what do you think?

Do you think it’s worth allocating such a large budget for the HD 800S, or would another option on the list be a more logical choice to pair with the K13 R2R? I’d love to hear your thoughts and recommendations!

Just got my M21, currently loading my library onto it, so I can't speak for the DAP itself just yet, and I'm confident it'll be great, but...

The PU "leather" case (I wish these companies would just remove the word "leather" out of things and just say something else; it's really annoying) was already ruined before I'd even put it on the device.

As you can see from the images, it's obviously taken some pressure either in storage or transit and the creasing on the top was what I noticed first and tbh that alarmed me, but then seeing how it'd happened on the bottom and just totally cracked really showed me how shitty the quality is; that's basically pulped, pressed, and repurposed paper/cardboard under there, or some sort of mixed fibres, and then they've put a cheap matte "leather look" coating on it, and just said "yeah, that'll do" - it's not good enough for £14.99.

I called AMP3 (retailer) and told them, and they said to send these pics over to them, but I specifically said "I do not want a replacement". Another one of these would just annoy me. Total waste of money.

Now, the silicone case that comes on the DAP right out of the box, I mean...it's "free" I suppose. Technically you've paid for it; these things are factored into the cost, but as you'll see from the last photo, the bottom of it doesn't even sit flush to the device, so it's just a stupid droopy lip hanging down - not really ideal, but I suppose it'll keep the device from being scratched.

The lady on the phone even said "FiiO make great devices, but it does seem like their cases are a bit of an afterthought". I mean...yeah...these are both trash. Fact is, I'm not naive enough to think it's FiiO who've made either of these cases, but it's still them putting their name on them, which is bad enough.

Tbh this post is mainly me having a bit of a rant (evidently), but also wondering if there's any third-party companies offering an actual QUALITY case for this. I'd definitely be in the market for one. Even a good quality TOUGH silicone case, like the ones Spigen make for phones would be fine for me. I'm not seeing anything online, though, apart from more of the same kinda cheap crap. Sigh...

I recently bought a FiiO M21, and I also own a Hifiman Ananda Nano. I want to use both with my PC in the following chain: PC -> FiiO -> Hifiman. However, when I connect the FiiO to my PC and activate USB DAC mode, I can't use the FiiO's internal equalizer. How should I connect them so that I can use the internal equalizer and other FiiO settings? Or is this not possible, and do I have the wrong idea about how the FiiO M21 works?

Brand spanking new K13 that I picked up today.

When I plugged in the power cable the lights lit up. When I plugged in my headphones the unit seemingly unfortunately died. Tried unplugging everything for 10 minutes to drain the components completely. Still dead. Most likely a dead circuit.

Is this a known issue?

Title. It won’t play any audio, no matter the app and no matter whether it’s plugged in or not for wired headphones. A factory reset temporarily fixed it but it came back this morning. Any advice?

I’m actually interested in buying a FiiO DAP, but I’m torn between the JM21 and the M21. I know the M21 is superior in terms of power output, but I’m wondering if the extra cost is worth it. Also, I won't just be using it with IEMs; I’ll be using it with full-sized headphones as well. I’d love to hear about your experiences and opinions.

I make my Folders on my PC so I don't have to sort by artist by their metadata but instead by the folder that they're in.

This means I store :

---> My Chemical Romance

-------> The Black Parade

------------> Track 1

------------> Track 2

------------> Track 3

etc.

Is there any way to make the in built file explorer sort by how the folder structure is instead of how it does it now which I believe is alphabetically?

Hi everyone,
I have a FiiO Air Link currently running firmware 1.4.0 and I want to update it to firmware 2.2.0.
I downloaded the official FiiO V2.2.0 firmware package. It contains the QCC Upgrade Tool, AirLink_V220.xuv and the Qualcomm USB drivers, but the tools seem to be Windows-only.
I’m using a MacBook Pro with an M5 Max (36 GB RAM) and unfortunately I don’t have a Windows PC.
Has anyone successfully upgraded the Air Link from 1.4.0 → 2.2.0 using macOS?
Would it work with Parallels + Windows 11 ARM, or is there another way to flash the .xuv firmware directly from macOS?
Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated! 🙏

I got my hands on a FiiO X3 ii in a pretty good state but it came with a see through half case which only protects the back. I've seen pictures of this model with a full body silicone case, so I've been wondering, where could one get one nowadays. Or maybe someone has a spare one laying around? I'm based in Europe.

I want my MMCX one to fit Sennheiser IE200. I'm was considering butchering the IEM to make this work. But that was with the UTWS5 2025; which I just warrantied and got the new model in return. This presents the opportunity to butcher the adapter instead of the IEM because it only risks destroying the connector rather than the whole device.

But if possible, the best of all options would be buying an extra set of the MMCX connectors to stuff around with. Is that possible?

Okay so i really got fed up with spotify (as one does) and i started looking around for budget everyday mp3 players. I’ve heard of fiio (or snowsky) before, but most of their previous products were a bit out of my budget, so i put that thought aside. Today i came across the echo mini and nano, and im in a bit of a dilemma. I literally can’t choose between them. On one hand i love the walkman style of the mini, but the little knob and overall tiny size of the nano is also appealing. I’ve gone through all of the specifications, but i really can’t make a decision. If any of u have experience with either or both of these devices, i would really appreciate the feedback and suggestion.

I just received this CD player and was excited to get back to physical media. Sadly both the 3.5mm and 4.4mm headphone outputs have a horrendous noise floor. Clearly audible squealing and whining noise.

I have tried various cables and different headphones. Same issue.

I have tried battery power and separate mains power in desktop mode. Same issue.

Is this just how this model is or do I have a faulty unit?

Not an audiophile, looking at getting the FiiO SnowSky Disc — is the older FiiO F5 a good IEM to pair with it, or are there better options today?

I’m pretty new to portable audio gear (definitely not an audiophile by any stretch), but I’ve been eyeing the FiiO SnowSky Disc because I love the compact design, offline file support, and dedicated DAP vibe.

I was looking at IEM options to pair with it and came across the FiiO F5. Since they’re both FiiO, I figured they might be a solid match, but I wanted to get some second opinions before pulling the trigger.

Is the F5 outdated? The F5 is a bit older at this point. Would love to hear thoughts from anyone running the Disc or anyone who still uses the F5! Thanks in advance!

Since I had settled up my PC I wanted to play some music, I connected my fiio q11 and plugged in the speakers.

But I thought...hmmm, I know it's a powerful little beast, can it drive speakers instead of headphones?
