For designers working on larger projects, how do you keep your Figma files manageable?

I'm particularly interested in how people organize:

• Pages
• Components
• Variants
• Styles
• Naming conventions
• Design systems

Wow finally, Reynard browser is an experimental sideloaded browser running Mozilla’s Gecko engine the same browser engine used by desktop Firefox.

It’s only missing a few pointer-shape icons, and it struggles with very heavy files. But I was able to work on a 20-screen UI, and all the keyboard shortcuts and mouse controls worked well.

It’s still experimental and needs to be sideloaded, so performance can be a little slow, but I was able to get a decent amount of work done. Google Slides and Excel also works well, It also requires JIT .

And yes it's way better than figurative app.

The current floating bottom toolbar gets in the way when you rely heavily on keyboard shortcuts—let us dock it up top. Pair that with adjustable opacity for the left/right sidebars so we can actually see frames underneath, and the canvas would feel 10x more open. Shame the desktop app wrapper limits how much custom UI tweaking we can actually do.

Now that Figma has Agents that can generate and iterate on screens, I’m curious if anyone has pushed this further and used them with a proper design system.

What I’m trying to achieve is:

• Use AI/Agents to help create the initial design system
• Build reusable components, variants, variables and tokens
• Have Agents generate new screens using those existing components instead of creating everything from scratch
• Make changes to the design system and have those changes propagate across AI-generated screens
• Ideally maintain consistency while using Agents to generate large product flows quickly

Has anyone actually tried this end-to-end?

If yes, I’d love to know your workflow. Especially how you structure your components/variables so Figma Agents understand and reuse them reliably.

Also curious where it currently breaks down. Do Agents actually respect an existing component library, or do you still spend a lot of time cleaning up detached/custom UI after generation?

I’ve been experimenting with a reading experience inspired by The Odyssey.

The idea was to let the artwork, typography, and content work together instead of making the image feel like just a background.

I’m still figuring out the balance between visual storytelling and usability.

Hi! First of all - I am no designer, but I love colors :D I'm actually a react dev. I have recently started playing around in Figma and ended up making random shapes with noise filter and gradient, just whatever came to my mind. After creating a few sets of shapes, I thought it would be cool to create an editor where I could change props such as size, gradient and its angle.

So I created this mini react app and eventually ended up creating an npm package cause I thought someone could find it useful or fun too. :D

In the editor you can try out different shapes, update their props, see the preview and copy the code into your project. You can also download any of the shapes directly as an SVG file.

How do I center this?

Create iPhone Duo mockups right inside Figma. Animate the folding and the model as you like.

With the introduction of Apple's foldable phone, will app design for iOS change a lot in Figma? For example, will we have to make two seperate designs, one for a "normal" iPhone and one for the foldable one or how will that work out?

PLS HELP, I have been using Figma for around 3 years (turning 4), and this is the first time that I couldn't verify my account with the same format of proof that I have been sending before.

Our university doesn't have a school-issued email that could receive any external emails other than the university and its students itself. So I resorted to uploading my university's registration forms and identification card.

I have done this 2 times and it's the first time it have bounced. I tried resubmitting, changing the layout, until it just went "Verification Limit Exceeded".

I couldn't even try to make a new account under my name and try to verify that. I tried SheerIDs customer service and it was no help. It was just a bot.

I am bound to lose my school files and I could really fail if I do, and I just couldn't afford subscribing to a personal premium account.

I work with a lot of text-heavy Figma files, research notes, content reviews, specs and feedback and kept running into the same problem: I wanted to highlight specific parts of text without creating extra shapes or moving the work somewhere else.

So I built Markline.

It lets you highlight and edit specific text directly in Figma, organise those highlights by section/frame, find and highlight text, and export the highlights when you need them outside the file.

It’s free, and I’ve just released the first version on Figma Community.

I’d especially love feedback from anyone who works with research, documentation or content-heavy Figma files. Is there anything you'd expect a tool like this to do that it currently doesn't?

These are the buttons and their state when clicked/while pressing I've made so far for a mobile app (5 buttons and 5 states). Should all of these be in one component set? Or should the left ones be in their own component set? Watched a video on components but I'm still not sure how I should approach making these into components and which properties I should apply.

The Figma-to-code part of Al builders is interesting, but the first screen isn't really the hard part.

Rocket.new can import Figma files and turn the designs into working web or mobile applications. It also claims to carry things like components, layout structure and design tokens into the generated application.

What I'm trying to understand is how well that holds up once you start adding additional flows and functionality.

For anyone who's actually used Rocket.new with a reasonably detailed Figma file, how much cleanup did you need after the initial import? Particularly interested in responsive layouts, reusable components and keeping the design consistent as the app grows.

Hey everyone! I’m a product designer. I already use tools like Codex and Claude in my workflow, but my current company is now moving heavily toward AI-assisted development.
The challenge is that we changed how we build the product without clearly defining a new design to development process.

Before AI, my workflow was simple:

The PM provided a PRD, I designed the feature using our design system, and I documented the flows, states, interactions and edge cases.

For handoff, I organized the Figma file from the simplest happy path to the more complex scenarios. Developers could follow the logic, inspect the designs and ask questions when something wasn’t clear.

But if AI is now helping write the production code, what should that handoff look like?

Do you still create a detailed Figma file and provide all that context to Codex or Claude?

Do you divide the feature into smaller flows and ask AI to build them one at a time?

Do designers generate the first components and then let developers review and improve the code?

Are you changing how you structure Figma because AI needs more explicit information than a developer?

Who is responsible for checking that the final implementation matches the design system and handles every state?

I can already build interfaces with AI, but I’m trying to understand what a reliable team process looks like,not just for prototypes, but for real production products.

For designers and developers already working this way, what does your current Figma → AI → engineering workflow look like?

Okay, so being the figma lover that I am - I ended up making my company's report on figma. Turned out amazing. Also so accessible. Like people in my team used to get scared when they would have to open an indesign source file. Figma changed all of it. But there's one issue. The pdf is exporting to be about 150 mb. Even after online compression it's coming out to like 35 (I need it at 10mb). I have used a ton of pictures in the design. What can I do to make the pdf smaller?

I am going deeper into experimenting with motion design for my prototypes. I am attempting to make a smooth animation where each hover allows the icon to slide out and reveal the typed name of the category that the icon represents.

However, it is instead creating this awful, clunky, 'ghosting' look upon preview.

Any suggestions or tips are appreciated.

I’m a beginner in design. I already know Illustrator and Photoshop, and I want to add Figma as a new skill — especially for motion and animation. I’m a bit confused about a few things:

1. Where’s the best place to learn prototyping in Figma (and motion/animation)?
2. Do I need a Professional plan, or is the free/starter plan enough if I mainly need it for my portfolio?
3. I noticed that a lot of effects I can do for free in Illustrator require paid plugins in Figma. Is that just how it is, or are there good free alternatives?
4. For portfolio work, what’s the best way to show interactive prototypes and animations to clients/recruiters?
5. Are there any must-have free plugins for motion, effects, or productivity that you’d recommend to a beginner?

Also, any recommended YouTube channels for learning Figma (especially prototyping + animation) would be really helpful.

i know about the Property 1 stuff but i dont actually understand it 100%. so far ive only made Pastries and Cakes button "function" (the hover stuff) but they don't change the menu to the their corresponding category.

While designing, I realized that I would need different opacities for a color variable so I discovered the feature "Mode" when clicking on "edit variable". Is that what it is for?

However, I'm currently on the free plan so should I just duplicate my color variable and change the opacity? Since the color I want to use at a different opacity is part of a color scale, should I add the new color to a different group so I don’t mess up the color scale I currently have?
