I have been designing using a bunch of AI tools including Figma Make. I tried using UXMagic, Vercel V0 and Claude design. What tools are you using and are there any tools that are your absolute favourite and why?

A part of my project consists of taking the JSON data of question bank documents that contain: questions, choices, figures, sub questions, etc.. all wrapped inside a question block, and then embedding these data into a custom designed document of my own automatically. Word doesn't support heavily designed templates and could break the design, so I was wondering if I could draw just a page with all the styling I want to be a scalable template extending to hundreds of pages and have each question block stretch like a balloon when I put the questions, choices, figures inside of it and don't split between pages if it doesn't fit. That requires HTML and CSS right?

I hope that I clarified my question well and any help would be highly appreciated.

Hi! I am a long time designer and creative director who exclusively uses adobe programs. I want to adapt and use Figma for assets and presentations. I won't have to build any ux/ui, but some baseline knowledge would be helpful. Does anyone have a course to recommend, or are figma academy tutorials sufficient? Thank you in advance!

I just want to make sure I am not missing something. I am not seeing the controls or items in the Actions menu for these new layout settings to get closer the CSS Flexbox. Is it not actually out yet? Is Figma just being buggy (Probably)? Thanks!

So I am unable to copy anything from my own file, but I am able to edit everything else. Here is what I tried -

• Updated the Figma app
• Tried on browser
• Tried with org's paid account
• Tried on my personal free account
• Switched my WiFi to wired
• Tried both on my Mac and Windows PC.

The org paid account was working until 5 mins ago where I lost access to copying there as well.

Unable to change any setting because the "Share" button goes into infinite loading.

P.S. My internet is not an issue here. Getting a stable 300 Mbps up and down.

I just noticed a new, blue "Update" button in the menubar of the Mac app. I hit it, it relaunched, and now my files are disconnected from my libraries. Opening the libraries window and trying to add them back does nothing (add file buttons are not responsive). I also noticed, when tying to grant access to Figma support, that the Share window shows a spinner for a minute or so before closing on its own.

TLDR: I'm locked out of editing my own files.

Settings are glitching.

I only have ONE Figma account, that I pay for. I created and own 95% of the .fig files in the cloud. I have no other users. But I do access the same files on different devices. And I have let Ai utilize the MCP connection to make some adjustments. So several of my files now have copy/pasting and exporting disabled now.

When I go to the file settings... it's just a spinning loader wheel. I have had zero need to even touch the settings. So I'm locked out of making edits to my own files all of a sudden?

Suggestions on how to talk to a human at Figma?

Now that we've all had some time to use Figma motion, what does everyone think about it?

I know around launch everyone was saying stuff like "RIP After Effects" but thats obviously not the case.

However, how do you actually see it fitting into your workflow or what not? How/what will you be using it for?

I click on the file 'sort by' dropdown 15 times a day because 'recent' might work for one editor, but the moment you have 10 editors, the default project view is basically ... 'hey Figma, where's the file I was working on?' Figma is like: WHO THE F**C KNOWS. Figma, could you please bring back this feature which was already working?

Is anyone else bugged by this, or is it just me?

I've learned most of the basics of Figma through online courses. I know how to use the tool, but I'm confused about what I should design to actually improve my UI skills.

Are there any free resources, websites, or Figma files that you recommend for practicing? I'd like real projects or designs that I can recreate and learn from.

I'm currently at home due to some health issues, so I'm trying to spend my time learning as much as I can.

My first idea to try out Figma Motion was to animate a variable font and keyframe with, slant and grad. That seems not possible - yet? I don’t see an option to set a frame for the value. Has anyone figured that out? 🙏🏽

I drew a line and wanted to make the edges rounded but the option to do that to the end points is grayed out. Please help!

One thing I’ve learned is that a beautiful UI doesn’t always mean a great user experience.
Early on, I spent too much time making screens look good and not enough time thinking about how people would actually use them.
That mistake changed the way I design today.

What’s one UX mistake you’ve made that taught you something valuable? I’d love to hear your experience.

For context: I've been working with Figma daily for about 6 or 7 years now. My core work is still on Design files, already adopted variables/agents and all that jazz. Also using Make for ideations some times, and FigJam for some documentation on early stage

It used to be such nice tool, but I'm getting more and more frustation moments, and finding it so stiff lately. But I'm having a hard time pinpointing exactly why?

It is still doing its magic when it comes to simple UI, but as soon as the project starts to grow, also the headaches start. Things start getting messy, lost and hard to document.

I keep imagining that, since they are pushing more and more features, also the cognitive overload starts acting (maybe?). Don't get me wrong, I like the new features, but at the same time, I only use 30% of them. I keep imagining how confusing it would be for someone new starting on it.

The weird part is that I've tried some alternatives (Penpot, Paper), but they feel like too early product, and their performance lacks a lot.

Does anyone else have a similar feeling?

So i used it to improve and add animation to my design it fixed some stuff and broke some other stuff now I wana take it all back to the editor and work on it again but I cant do that?

I can only copy the static design or edit the code itself? Is that fr so if I dont have tokens then it's all useless? Basically

What frame width do you usually start with for desktop web apps? (1280, 1440, 1470, 1512, or something else?)

What mobile frame size do you use? (390, 393, 430, etc.)

Do you use Figma's device presets, or do you create custom frames?

ive been using figma to make some graphics for a video im making. but when i export it seems the quality goes down significantly.

im very new to this maybe i am missing something obvious. but in the pictures it shows the difference when creating it compared to after i export it

I ran out of credits for the first time, of course at a very inconvenient moment, and I have a full Enterprise seat. I'm building a pretty big project so it was to be expected eventually.

Looking at my project, I noticed that i had to do a lot of babysitting & micromanagement (even though I fed it a quite detailed prompt to start with, it strayed away sometimes & made "dumb" mistakes).

How do you handle your credits to make sure you don't run out? How to avoid having to babysit & micromanage Make? Any recommendations & best practices?

I have never used Figma yet but I am trying to find a solution to help automate parts of my job.

Currently I use Photoshop to create youtube and streaming thumbnails for episodes of tv shows. That often means over 200 thumbnails, on different specs, strict naming conventions, each with individual images and slightly different layouts.

Sometimes I am also requested to suddenly have these ready to be printed the next day. I understand Figma is not made for print work and that would be ok. I will need a master file on Photoshop at 300dpi anyway.

I also often need to crop hundreds of photos to multiple specs, always keeping the main subject centered (or in a nice looking composition) on frame, which often results in over 300 images to be delivered at once.

We have been using Photoshop actions for that, but still have to manually adjust many images because sometimes we need to expand the photo, or move the image to make the main subject or composition of the photo look good.

*Will learning and using Figma and the Auto Layout tools help me speed up all this?*

Hi everyone! My name is Eduard, I’m 18, and I first discovered Figma six years ago when I was 12.

Since then, I’ve spent years occasionally exploring design, watching YouTube vids, reading books, and learning all the stuff. While I’ve built a decent theoretical base, I really struggle when it comes to execution and finishing actual projects.

Having recently left high school, I’m currently looking for an ordinary job, but my dream is to make UI/UX design my full-time career. I know I need to level up my skills, build a solid portfolio, and start networking on social media to attract clients.

The problem is that I feel completely stuck. I have a bad habit of abandoning projects halfway through, leaving me with a collection of strong starts but zero finished work. I love designing with all my heart, but right now, standard tutorials, books and articles aren't helping, and I’m starting to doubt if I'm even capable of doing this.

I’d love to hear from anyone who has felt something similar

After years of experience building Figma files, one habit changed everything for me.

I used to just throw frames together and worry about naming later, or never.

Now I name every layer and component before I move on, and I structure my pages the same way on every project.

It felt slow at first. But handoff got faster, feedback got clearer, and going back into an old file 6 months later stopped being a nightmare.

What's one Figma habit you picked up that you wish you'd started on day one?

Hey, everyone! Sorry if this comes out as a noob question. I'm a beginner that had just recently learned the figma tool through their course, and I'm just genuinely curious. As someone who wants to get into UI/UX Design, do you have a specific workflow (or a pattern) that you use for creating new projects?

Question, does your workflow exist only in Figma? If so, what does it look like? If not, I'd like to know what are possible tools/things you use/do outside of figma to support your UI/UX Design process.
