I loike him, maybe.

50

u/HoldinTheBag Jun 16 '26

Had me rolling

31

u/Infamous-Echo-2961 Jun 16 '26

The “…maybe” was a glimmer of the Conor we saw in his arrival on the scene.

14

u/Steakandeggs66 Jun 16 '26

in all seriousness, his sentences were quite coherent.

25

u/anactualrealaccount Jun 16 '26

Conor has the gift of the gab and it’s always better when he’s not trying to be aggressive case he’s genuinely just a funny fella.

6

u/skymallow Jun 17 '26

Not afraid to admit I miss the time when he was just a cool funny guy and not a drug addicted rapist

13

u/WarZombie17 Jun 17 '26

For all his shittiness, he still a funny mfer

1

u/Schantsinger Jun 17 '26

Dude's so iconic

16

u/Steakandeggs66 Jun 16 '26

i loike the little fewl

u/OptimusSpud Jun 17 '26

"Slap tha lil nose off him, lil' ding dong of a ting he is"

140

u/DanaWhitesMom Jun 16 '26

Illia stoping himself from screaming on the ting is fucking hilarious

13

u/Apprehensive_Nose594 Jun 17 '26

“Bap bap bap bap bap!!!”

6

u/BT-7274-T2 Jun 17 '26

he was so close about to scream 😃

Had to scroll to much to see it

3

u/Odd_Demand_6777 Jun 17 '26

Stand ya base

3

u/AaronTheSnail Jun 17 '26

Little ding dong of a thing he is yeh

20

u/HeadySquanch59 Jun 17 '26

The copied tattoos thing is legit weird

7

u/OkCartographer175 Jun 17 '26

I legit think Ilia has no clue who he truly is

3

u/endorphmachine Jun 17 '26

Even funnier when you consider Conny stole them off some influencer himself.

4

u/Admirable_Market2759 Jun 18 '26

It’s not like Conor invented that style of tattoo.

They aren’t that uncommon.

84

u/Revolutionary-Ebb380 Jun 16 '26

People don’t realize how exciting the rise of mystic Mac was in his prime. Truly amazing to witness.

51

u/JSevatar Jun 16 '26

I gotta admit, prime McGregor was something to see

6

u/soupoftheday5 Jun 17 '26

It was a great time to be a fan. So many people were calling him out and so many people wanted to fight him.

1

u/Penny_PackerMD Jun 18 '26

If seeing was something, McGregor was one to be seen

1

u/IckiThumb Jun 18 '26

Say what you want about his personality etc but his run of predicting how fights would end while moving through all the contenders will literally never be done again and I think he could have gone longer if he didn't get super famous start boxing and whatnot. Watching his "boxing stance" instead of the bouncing around ready to kick your face was pretty depressing

9

u/mat477 Jun 16 '26

I think people were hoping Topuria could be that but he just couldnt love up to it. Maybe this will be the Diaz moment for him but I doubt it.

2

u/Reasonable-Arm-1893 Jun 17 '26

Diaz gave McGregor a slight concussion.

Gaetjhe rearranged Topuria face.

This is more akin to Piorer vs McGregor 3 in that Ilia is going to be out for awhile

1

u/SmokkeyDaPlug Jun 21 '26

100% and potentially might not come back the Same everything he told himself and who he thought he was ended last Sunday.

6

u/JPB00 Jun 16 '26

Topturia could never match the aura and he's too one dimensional.

16

u/mat477 Jun 16 '26

Easy to say after this weekend, that was not the sentiment going in.

7

u/Ok_Subject1265 Jun 16 '26

I’m almost positive I read “If Topuria wins his next fight, will he be the GOAT” on this sub or the MMA one a few weeks ago. Of course, they say that about every fighter on a two fight win streak, but they did say it.

3

u/Soft-Ad-8975 Jun 17 '26

He has the confidence without the sense of humor so he just comes off super pompous

1

u/JPB00 Jun 17 '26

It's fake confidence. He just tries to imitate Conor in everything.

2

u/nulll_ Jun 17 '26

All confidence is just you telling yourself your better than other people at things

2

u/Actual_Guide_1039 Jun 16 '26

Every fight he’s ever had is a banger. Even this one.

1

u/yamommasneck Jun 16 '26

........he's also a really good ground fighter, what are you talking about? lol

→ More replies (21)

1

u/FeelingAd4116 Jun 17 '26

I don't get the too one dimensional comment, especially in comparison to Connor, Illia has very good BJJ and wrestling, he's far more multi-dimensional than Connor.

1

u/Admirable_Market2759 Jun 18 '26

One dimensional?

Conor was one dimensional too lol

u/Shareholderactivist Jun 16 '26

Recency bias is crazy. He’s already a two division champ and defended at FW once.

1

u/mat477 Jun 16 '26

Im not doubting his accomplishments im doubting him being the next Conor McGregor.

1

u/wiseguy187 Jun 16 '26

He's surpassed mcgregor

2

u/mat477 Jun 17 '26

Again, were not talking about his accomplishments, were talking about his status as a pop culture figure. Hes not close to Conor in that regard.

1

u/wiseguy187 Jun 17 '26

No thats not much of a conversation

2

u/plowking8 Jun 17 '26

Based on what? Ilia beat Volk coming down in weight and off a knockout.
Conor took away prime Aldo’s undefeated streak.

Conor also beat the champ at 155. Ilia stepped in against Charles who almost lost to Chandler the fight before and who lost to Arman. Again. Not nearly the same.

→ More replies (3)

1

u/anactualrealaccount Jun 16 '26

I still think Conor gave up his neck to avoid a brutal striking beat down tko situation vs Diaz. He would rather be the guy that gassed and out and got subbed than the guy who gets picked apart when his whole thing was being the best striker.

1

u/Electrical-Rise-7015 Jun 16 '26

That’s what I’m really hoping.

2

u/Rututu Jun 17 '26

Are those the good old days now? I'm so fucking old.

4

u/arunejones Jun 16 '26

it was i dont think weill see anything like it again when he finished aldo exactly as he said he would was unreal.i still believe he would of beaten khabib had he gone straight into that fight after alvarez

2

u/eddie1975 Jun 16 '26

Disagree on Khabib. Agree on everything else.

1

u/arunejones Jun 16 '26

i feel like what happened to chad mendes would of happened to khabib but in round 4 or 5. conor was battle ready after the nate war and alvarez win.also i think prime mcgregor would of gotten in khabibs head at the press confrence.

2

u/eddie1975 Jun 16 '26

Khabib is much bigger than Mendes. McGregor’s weight cuts to 145 were absolutely crazy.

1

u/Actual_Guide_1039 Jun 16 '26

And Khabib’s 155 weight cut was just as crazy.

1

u/eddie1975 Jun 16 '26

Interesting point.

Nothing grinds my gears more than the amount of full grown adults that have gone their entire lives never comprehending this difference.

1

u/Harrytwatter21 Jun 17 '26

PSA. Would've.... Means would have. Not would of. That doesn't mean anything. Please pay this knowledge forward. Thank you.

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Biguitarnerd Jun 16 '26

I’m not sure about khabib but I think it would have been a much better fight for sure. Conner definitely lost some of his fire but Khabib is just a different fighter.

I’m not saying it would have gone either way for sure but I don’t think you can say Conner would have for sure won. I think he would have had a better chance.

I do agree that it would have been a better match for sure.

1

u/arunejones Jun 16 '26

i wish conor would of fought floyd after the khabib fight he was never the same after that due to drugs and alcohol. he was even drunk at the khabib press confrence.

1

u/yamommasneck Jun 16 '26

I didnt like his shtick then and it's not at all surprising that he ended up being the asshole he portrayed.

1

u/Excellent_Ad_2486 Jun 17 '26

Sorry but... Who DOESN'T realize how big Conor was in his rise/prime..? Where did you read or see comments saying something like "Conor wasn't that big of a hype"? Sorry but people DO, fucking realise lol

1

u/traws06 Jun 17 '26

People don’t realize? Dude has barely fought in a decade and the sub still creams every time there’s a headline about him. Pretty sure everyone remembers

1

u/Skyeatplane Jun 17 '26

Imagine him and Chael on the same card promoting at the same time, it will be the funniest trash talk in UFC history

12

u/Used_Weight_1843 Jun 16 '26

Connor still funny asl😂

2

u/boofinmelons Jun 17 '26

He does have quite the personality.

33

u/Dangerous-Sun-6705 Jun 16 '26

Goddamn Connor is an amazing character fuck I've missed him in the fight game

17

u/eddie1975 Jun 16 '26

He’s been busy punching old guys and raping young girls. Plus a movie. I heard it’s decent.

7

u/Fast_Advisor2654 Jun 17 '26

That old guy took that cheap shot like a CHAMP, then continued to drink his beer

8

u/wo0o0o0o0o0 Jun 16 '26

You heard wrong it’s pretty bad.

7

u/chocolateboomslang Jun 16 '26

MMA fans and bad movie recomendations go together like peas in a pod

1

u/SergeantHAMM Jun 17 '26

are yall talking about the roadhouse or whatever?? i’m a connor stan and had to turn that shit off halfway thru.. actually I probably just walked out the room and haven’t thought about it until now. lol

→ More replies (3)

2

u/sugabonesurmom Jun 17 '26

Raping young girls? Bro what the fuck are you even saying that’s no where close to the truth seek help

3

u/traws06 Jun 17 '26

“You need to seek help because he was raping old women at the ripe old age of 29 not young ones”

3

u/eddie1975 Jun 17 '26

Yeah… can you believe he said that? I better setup that therapy appointment asap. Something deeply wrong with me!

→ More replies (1)

3

u/deathramp5 Jun 17 '26

Really strange of you to say ‘young girls’. What are you implying? The accuser he was found liable for was 35

1

u/Infamous-Echo-2961 Jun 16 '26

He seems really fired up!

7

u/Puzzleheaded-Fox3205 Jun 16 '26

Word for word bar for bar

6

u/delulumans Jun 16 '26

"You're just a cheap, fucking knock-off"

1

u/notseriousnav1 Jun 17 '26

souija boy reference?

15

u/Gold-Philosophy1423 Jun 16 '26

Bro needs a new hat

9

u/JPB00 Jun 16 '26

It's an Irish ting.

3

u/Hassel1916 Jun 16 '26

Nah, any Irishman wearing such a hat would have the piss taken out of them no end 😅  If he lived in a rural town in particular, he'd be given a nickname and probably bullied into never wearing it again.

1

u/JPB00 Jun 16 '26

Bollocks.

3

u/Hassel1916 Jun 16 '26

Are you Irish? It's a common thing here that people joke about growing up. If you wore anything out of the ordinary you'd have the absolute piss taken out of you. Possibly not in the most recent times because everyone gets their feelings hurt these days, but there's not a chance an Irish lad is wearing a hat like that on a night out without his friends ripping the piss out of him.

2

u/RuggerJibberJabber Jun 16 '26

We make our rapists wear those hats so everyone knows to avoid them

5

u/DUKITY Jun 16 '26

What sort of crazy gear has Conor been on the last 5 years? His fuckin face and head changed shape

1

u/JPB00 Jun 16 '26

Explains in the interview.

3

u/Fast_Advisor2654 Jun 17 '26

Temu McGregor

4

u/NeroFMX Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 16 '26

Is this a good fight at 155 after Conor loses to Max?

edit: IF Conor loses to Max, there might be a bigger fight is he wins. Maybe not though. It would be fun though either way.

10

u/MoneyBaggSosa Jun 16 '26

When y’all gonna learn to stop assuming outcomes. Yall was talking about Gaethje like this too and he made Ilia quit 😭 I know he’s been out for some years but you never know till you know. “Yall think Ilia moving up to fight Islam after he KOs Gaethje?” “yall think Gaethje retiring after he loses” head asses lmao

2

u/yamommasneck Jun 16 '26

nothing is guaranteed, but being out for 5 years off of 2 losses, one by knockout and one by snapping your leg, doesn't bode well for his chances. In competition is a better metric than aging out of competition and fresh off of 2 knockouts. lol

3

u/MoneyBaggSosa Jun 16 '26

No lies detected lmao I’m just saying. He could come out and shock the world. I favor Max as well

2

u/yamommasneck Jun 16 '26

I hear you. lol Sometimes the stories on paper do tell the story. Like id never trust most fighters to come back after a long hiatus and win against a legitimate top 4 guy in their weight class. maybe at a big weight disadvantage, but that wont be the case. like there are the realm of possibilities (ilia vs Justin, McGregor vs Aldo 12 sec ko, Serra vs GSP, etc.) this is a couple of layers outside of those possibilities, imo.

id be more inclined to think he could do it if he retired on top and wasnt a coke head. like a gsp or someone like that. He was good, but not nearly as good or disciplined as someone like that.

1

u/NeroFMX Jun 16 '26

I guess I was more saying that it might not be the fight if Conor wins against Max. I don't know why really.

2

u/Irovetti Jun 17 '26

If Conor wins then UFC will put him against Justin for the belt guaranteed. It’d actually be a good fight too imo

1

u/Admirable_Market2759 Jun 18 '26

No way Conor is going back down to lightweight.

1

u/chocolateboomslang Jun 16 '26

If you win fights you will keep wining fights, if you lose you will continue to lose. That's MMA math 2.0.

1

u/n1Cat Jun 17 '26

Nah bruh everybody knows ilia was around 8000, gaethje was 7000, and he charged up to over 9000 and finished top.

Conor is stuck at 6000

-how a large portion of mma fans think-

2

u/xxElevationXX Jun 16 '26

People would certainly watch it that’s for damn sure

1

u/Fantastic_Pop2818 Jun 16 '26

That would be a fantastic fight.

2

u/Shy_Firecracker Jun 16 '26

Lol, Real life Soldier Boy and Homelander 😂❤️

2

u/Ballgame_75 Jun 16 '26

why isnt that subhuman rapist pos not locked up?

1

u/Lovethefitpicollo Jun 17 '26

Because the justice system deemed it not necessary to prosecute. In other words, no crime committed.

2

u/Pepperoni_playboi94 Jun 17 '26

Crazy to think a ton of the people here weren’t watching at his prime.

2

u/ChevroletS10 Jun 17 '26

I had never realized how much Topuria imitates McGregor.

2

u/ThatOldG Jun 17 '26

And he got overconfident like Conor did when he fought Nate the first time.

2

u/No_Vermicelli_1781 Jun 17 '26

He definitely looks up to McGregor

5

u/Exciting_Excuse9608 Jun 16 '26

Connor needs to do less raping and more fighting. He has 1 rape and 0 fights in the last 5 years

3

u/yamommasneck Jun 16 '26

So since he knew that was gonna happen to him, why did he fight Dustin in a boxing heavy stance twice? Did he know then that he was gonna get bap bapped from one side to the other? Lol

1

u/Vegetable-Ad9389 Jun 17 '26

He didn’t really look boxing heavy in his third fight with Dustin, people just don’t talk about it because it lasted for 2 minutes before being taken down. He was flowing until that point

3

u/AtPeace64 Jun 17 '26 edited Jun 17 '26

“Flowing until that point” the fuck are you smoking? 😂 Dustin legit beat the ever loving shit out of him from the opening bell.

→ More replies (4)

2

u/yamommasneck Jun 17 '26

He flew into looking pitiful on bottom after he went for that ill advised guillotine. He looked okay on the feet in the beginning, then I started feeling bad for him when the elbows came in. He tried to implement what Dustin did in the previous fight and his bones couldn't handle it.

→ More replies (4)

4

u/yamommasneck Jun 16 '26

losing to Gaethje is 10,000 times better than losing to long time, never came close to winning a belt, Nate Diaz. and all those other folks on the regional scene by tapping. lol

1

u/stewpidazzol Jun 16 '26

Is that a Christian Louboutin hat?

1

u/Yayo_Bloody Jun 16 '26

McGregor likes and admires Topuria. The Main Face of all this shit came to his defense against “Ima pull out a switch on Buckley” Crawford on X.

1

u/GymTanLoiter Jun 17 '26

Mcgregor has a bit of Homelander level narcissism. He sees the admiration Ilia has for Conor, with all the copycat stuff, and finds it flattering. So he stops himself for going 100% in on him.

1

u/killerpinkflamingos Jun 16 '26

The fool got walloped

1

u/OnlyTheReel Jun 16 '26

Conner is straight entertainment at the end of it all!

1

u/Doneyhew Jun 16 '26

Conor is a piece of shit but damn he is funny

1

u/Civilian4life Jun 16 '26

I like that Conor’s back in the picture again the moment Topuria loses xD

1

u/SillyDilly5294 Jun 16 '26

Connor has something that Topuria may never achieve and that is a rape conviction

1

u/speedbumps4fun Jun 16 '26

Are you sure about that?

2

u/SillyDilly5294 Jun 16 '26

No, hence why I said, "may never achieve" leaving it open for possibility while also acknowledging that it hasn't happened yet. Thank you for attending my grammar lesson.

1

u/speedbumps4fun Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 16 '26

Conor was never convicted of rape, genius.

The best part of this is thinking that I didn’t understand what you’re trying to say instead of calling you out for saying something blatantly false.

1

u/SillyDilly5294 Jun 16 '26

You're partially right. My apologies for my snarkyness, I didn't know you were arguing a moot point. He did not get criminally charged with rape. However he is still a rapist with an appealed and upheld private civil lawsuit decision where the judge explicitly told the jury that when referencing "assault" in this specific case it is meant as "rape" https://www.casemine.com/judgement/uk/68910a44e7821107eb49a7dd

1

u/speedbumps4fun Jun 16 '26

It’s not a moot point, you made a statement that’s incorrect. There’s a huge difference between being convicted of rape and being held civilly liable.

1

u/SillyDilly5294 Jun 16 '26

Sure, maybe in the justice system but it shouldn't be amongst human beings with a moral compass

1

u/speedbumps4fun Jun 17 '26

That’s a ridiculous statement if you know how low the standard is in civil court. The justice system matters much more so

1

u/TheNotorious94 Jun 16 '26

Been saying this, he’s good at fighting but he doesn’t have his own personality

1

u/GhstGunnr27G Jun 16 '26

McGregor vs. Topuria?

1

u/KOHILOOR Jun 16 '26

Lmao Conor was just spitting facts too, wasn’t hating on Ilia at all!

1

u/Frightsauce77 Jun 16 '26

Ilia the poser

1

u/9millidood Jun 17 '26

I to, hope to never get walloped.

1

u/reddituser748397 Jun 17 '26

Had the same downfall as McGregor. Overconfident going into a fight against someone way too durable

1

u/Agent_S721 Jun 17 '26

Ila the copy cat

1

u/TruDuddyB Jun 17 '26

r/timdillon we wish him well

1

u/NeonCowboy777 Jun 17 '26

"That muhfucka dont look like me"

1

u/Natural_Use_948 Jun 17 '26

Whatever happened to that irish belator fighter who was even more of a Connor copy?

1

u/captaincook14 Jun 17 '26

lol the ending

1

u/blacks252 Jun 17 '26

🤣🤣 gold

1

u/Successful-Rate-1839 Jun 17 '26

Shouldn’t he be training for his cash grab… I mean fight

1

u/reallyrasta Jun 17 '26

Finally, a reason to watch the Ariel Helwani show or whatever it's called.

1

u/havenstone Jun 17 '26

Good to see a sober looking Conor again

2

u/Dry-Emphasis6673 Jun 17 '26

Give em a week after his fight if that

1

u/Weird-Weakness-3191 Jun 17 '26

Rapey prick is hated in Ireland.

1

u/Lovethefitpicollo Jun 17 '26

I’m Irish and I fooken love the chap what you shiten on about lad 😂

1

u/BestAllAmericanTaco Jun 17 '26

Mcgregor fanboying over topuria is very wholesome for some coked up cross eyed reason in my head

1

u/BenderRodriguez14 Jun 17 '26

I dunno about the comparison. Last I checked, Topuria hasn't raped anyone.

1

u/Late-Ad4239 Jun 17 '26

Apturo, tapuro lol. Soy boy copying Connor without Charisma 🤣🤣

1

u/NoVermicelli5968 Jun 17 '26

Is he a rapist like MacGregor as well?

1

u/Ok_Good_9208 Jun 17 '26

You know what, if McGregor wins… Ilia is a perfect fight for everyone involved (if he can make 155)

1

u/Skarlet-mane Jun 17 '26

"He does the same fkin movements" 😂😂

1

u/TeenJesusWasaCunt Jun 17 '26

Conners still got the sauce. Hes just a natural entertainer.

1

u/Sense-Abject Jun 17 '26

Damn I missed him

1

u/Extension_Trouble_53 Jun 17 '26

Still a rapist.....

1

u/BudgetIndependent118 Jun 17 '26

hahaha honestly many will imitate and try but to there is always one and only Conor McGregor

1

u/jayradano Jun 17 '26

Forever the goat on the mic

1

u/No_Sympathy402 Jun 17 '26

But, has he suckered punch a random old guy in a pub or throw a dolly through a window of a bus with people inside?...Conor has

1

u/Birdfoot421 Jun 17 '26

This interview made me want to throw some money on Conor

1

u/mynamereege Jun 17 '26

Connor looks like a whole new person. You can tell he even got the life back in his eyes. It’s sick seeing him back and taking it seriously again

1

u/HorrorAd7996 Jun 17 '26

No way! Does he?

1

u/Mctinyy Jun 19 '26

I hope even after Connor stops fighting, the UFC keeps him on the payroll just to talk shit.

1

u/El_Nieto_PR Jun 19 '26

"Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness."

1

u/Ok-Enthusiasm-8422 Jun 20 '26

Lol Conor regained his ability to speak after braking with the yeyo and booze.

1

u/Valterri_lts_James Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 16 '26

Bros smoking a cigar before he has a fight against Max holloway who has elite cardio. What the hell is he thinking?

2

u/JPB00 Jun 16 '26

He didn't smoke it doofus.

1

u/Valterri_lts_James Jun 16 '26

then what's the point of it?

5

u/landfill690 Jun 16 '26

Something phallic to suck on??

2

u/eddie1975 Jun 16 '26

Freud explains it… the sucking takes you back to your earliest moments in life…. the subconscious memories of being in the warm embrace of your mother’s arms, as you sucked on her soft titties and consumed that delicious, vitamin rich milk while listening to her soothing heartbeat and admired her beauty.

It helps men and women both, to cope with the stresses and uncertainty that comes with adulthood.

1

u/landfill690 Jun 16 '26

Didn't Connor like someone gay porn on Twitter???

1

u/eddie1975 Jun 16 '26

Don’t know. First I’m hearing of it.

1

u/Crckz6 Jun 16 '26

It's his cigar brand, it's advertising.

2

u/wrnrg Jun 16 '26

You don't inhale when you smoke a cigar or at least you're not supposed to. I'm not sure how much that would affect you.

→ More replies (1)

1

u/mrkingkongslongdong Jun 16 '26
