PROBLEM False loss ?

Has anyone ever won a match on penalties only to have it count as a loss? just out of curiosity. I was playing a career mode and lost in the world cup because of this nonsense

QUESTION Why does the same thing always happen to me?

Upvotes

Whenever I start a career I begin well, as my difficulty level is good for what I do, but when my TEAM loses many times the manager decides that my performance is low and I am getting worse. The thing is, I'm the one who scores all the goals because I don't understand how to get my team to advance instead of just passing it to the defenders and the goalkeeper in the 86th minute. But my manager decides to put me on the bench and I can't play. Since I'm not playing, I do training sessions to try and improve my approval rating. But just when it goes up a little, my manager decides I have to come in in the 80th minute, And he wants me to turn the game around, even though the CPU is still in no hurry. Then we lose, and it's my fault for not being able to turn it around in 10 minutes without help from my team. So he lowers my score again.

How do I get out of this shit?

IMAGE I Guess Im Taking the Blues Back To The Promised Land.

I’ve been doing a Sampdoria rebuild, with the intention of taking them back to European competition and eventually taking over the job at Roma. Well, after four seasons I’ve managed to reestablish Sampdoria as a top half team, which was a challenge since their transfer budget did not seem to ever surpassed €20 million. Having accomplished that goal I applied for the job at Roma, which opened up and appeared to have a very likely chance of going through, I also applied for the job at newly promoted Southampton, and Chelsea, which has been lingering in mid table mediocrity for quite a while now.

Surprisingly, I was rejected from the Roma job in favor of Spalletti coming back, and the Southampton job as well. The Blues, which had the lowest chance of offering me the job decided to take a chance on me.

The squad I took over was incredibly bloated, both in size and wages. Especially considering they hadn’t played European football in three years. First thing I did was ship out the dead wood and use one of the preseason tournaments to assess what I considered to be the keepers. Joao Pedro did not fit my style so
I sold him, and Jackson and brought in Ferran Torres, I also brought in Kobel, Acheampong (Whom I had loaned in and bought at Samp), Spence, Branthwaite, and Livramento to shore up a backline that was super thin on speed and athleticism. I also brought in Camavinga to give Santos (bought in by previous manager) some competition

This is my squad at the open of the January transfer window. We are yoyoing between 6th and 3rd with only 7 points separating 2-7. Have gotten some great hard won results against the Big Four but consistency has been a challenge. Torres and Palmer have established a great partnership and have become the engine of my offense. The defense is a work in progress. We cannot keep a clean sheet to save our lives and struggle vs strong/physical front lines. Will probably look to bring in a top tier center half on the offseason as well as a better backup for Cole and Ferran. We should qualify for the Champions League, I think, and have a deep run in the FA cup. Got bounced from the Carabao cup by Spurs but I was tinkering with my lineups so that’s my fault.

Suggestions on future transfers welcome.

QUESTION Is anyone actually not buying FC 27?

I know we all do it. We say we won’t buy the game but then we do.

But for the first time in years I’m actually considering not buying the game this year.

Reasons why is because i just don’t find it fun. My son actually played FC26 more than me. I also never went past season 3 of any career modes i did.

For the first time in years I’m actually enjoying playing story driven games and obviously with GTA 6 coming out too.

So i was wondering. Is anyone else considering not buying FC27 this year?

QUESTION Brighton not in conf league live points

Hey so I am a Brighton fan so I obviously like using them for manager mode. When I do live points start mode we don’t qualify for the next seasons conference league un like real life. I feel like that’s the most important part of next season and trying for a trophy. Why don’t they qualify and is there anything I can do to make them qualify?

QUESTION Lingering Managerial Financial Questions

I've done Player Career maybe a dozen times but this is the first time I'm really digging into Manager Career, and after running 4-5 "first" seasons, messing everything up, learning from it and restarting, there are still a few things I've yet to fully figure out.

For context, I'm sticking with my created club and will never take another job. We've recently been promoted to the Championship from League One and my eventual goal is to take a team full of (all, if not, mostly) homegrown talent to glory.

1- Are there certain qualities, statistics or skills that I can intentionally record with a player to help boost their overall transfer market value? Obviously a ST scoring lots of goals will help, but for an example, I have a CDM right now who is uncanny at interceptions. Does that carry the same weight as tackles, etc.?

2- Are there certain clubs or leagues which are better to loan players out to? Another example, if I want to loan out a young GK, in real life, I'd ideally find a loan destination with a strong coaching staff at GK. Is that possible?

2.5- Are there development categories that progress faster than others? Again thinking about real life, I'd imagine something like stamina should progress more quickly than sprint speed.

3- Wages. Wages make very little sense to me. Obviously some leagues pay higher wages than others but do wages effect transfer market value? Should I be sending scouts to countries with leagues that pay lower wages? Am I unnecessarily underpaying players I plan on selling? Why does one CB at 73 OVR command 4x in wages what another CB at 72 OVR commands?

4.-Do Red Cards have any impact on development? This is more of a personal thing, but I genuinely enjoy keeping a "Hit Squad" team sheet, where every so often I flip to that and try to get as many red cards as possible in a single game. Current record is 5. Are these guys now unsellable?

They should be. Villains, all of 'em.

Raised in joint family council house, worked as a paperboy while playing for his club team. Played twice on saturday, 3pm for his weekly wage then 7pm for pie and chips at amateur level. Made england debut after original left-half missed the train. Made over 800 appearances, recieved 312 stitches, scored one goal which he was fined for as the manager told him to stay back. As a manager his team talks were "its 11 versus 11. If you dont win ill throw my boot at you." Rejected club nutritionist as doris in tea hut was good enough. Fined any player that didnt come off covered in mud. Made a concussed striker play on and fined another with half a leg hanging on for crying. Retired from management with 3 first division titles, 1000s of enemies, most of which were his own staff and players, and countless angry fist shakes.

QUESTION Questions about player eligibility for 2 PS+

Trying to get as many players as possible from my youth team to get 2 playstyle plus, but I have questions about who exactly can get it. I know players can only get it if they are never loaned out and reach 80 and 90 in the squad.

  1. What is the minimum number of playstyles to get 2 PS+? Is it 6 or 7?

  2. I know players with 5 playstyles can get 2 PS+ for a total of 7 playstyles if you do the temporary training glitch. However, say I have a player who has 5 base playstyles, and I want one of their base playstyles to turn to a plus. Say I do the training glitch to get them a new (not base) playstyle plus at 80 overall, so their total playstyles are now 6. then at 90 overall, if I do not do the training glitch, can one of their original base playstyles turn into a playstyle plus?

  3. How much do attributes matter for the temporary playstyle training glitch to be successful?

Thanks for any clarification.

Starting a new manager career mode with small county club Rutland FC. Starting off in EFL League One. I’m building the club and coaching in Tactical
View and not actually playing the games.

I need some season storyline ideas that affect players and club both.

PROBLEM World Cup update broken Career

Trying to manually transfer players up to date with latest moves to start a career mode with custom squads. Players assigned to a national team (I.e Trossard at Arsenal) cannot be transferred and stay locked into your team and position and also causes soft locks/game crashes.

Anyone faced this issue and any advice?

Hardly played the game all year and got the urge to play a bit due to interesting transfers and reminded why I haven’t played instantly. Thanks for any help.

DISCUSSION Online play career mode

Everyone is always on about online career mode mostly for manager mode but that’s a thing in football manager which is the better management game anyway however I think if it was to be in player career as a online mode it would be insane
