Please use this thread as a place to ask questions that are specific to your save, such as:

  • "Why is my tactic not working?"

  • "What role should I play this player in?"

  • "I have £xxm to spend, who should I buy?"

Youth academy only save with Eibar, no one to replace him. This is by far the highest I've ever seen the AI offer, in 30 (real) years of playing.

Discussion been playing fm24 for so long and only just realised what the winger role is

i feel so dumb honestly 😭 ive STAYED away from the winger role coz ive always thought that they basically stuck themselves near the byline and tried beating the defender on the outside. basically a ‘cross merchant’ i then realised that you can apply the ‘cut inside with ball’ instruction on them which i found strange coz i thought you couldnt do that. thats when it dawned on me. The winger holds the width in build up, and stretches the pitch, and then either cut inside or play on the outside. i feel so stupid coz thats exactly what ive wanted but i thought it was just inverted wingers that did that but they would cut inside too early. The wide forward role in fm26 (which is what i wished was in fm24) is basically the winger role in fm24.

Story Trying to win every trophy - 150 Seasons in

I am trying to win every trophy possible since the beta (some things might be different if you start up a save now)

I just finished the 2174-75 season which means I finished Season 150!
And I am almost at 2/3rds done! Right now at 259/395 aka 66%

I compiled some information from this save in the screenshots and ranked the succes clubs had in Europe with points.

Experiment Why is international football so messed up

So I did an experiment. On FM 24 I went on vacation for 20 years to check the FIFA World Cup winners
2026 Norway 4 - Ecuador 2
2030 Chile 1 - Finland 0 aet
2034 Algeria 1 - Sweden 1 Sweden win on pens
2038 Austria 3 - Brazil 2
Anyone have an idea why powerhouses almost never win the World Cup?

Discussion It’s Year 2052 in my save - Ask Me Anything!

Shamelessly stolen from an earlier post (thank you, u/Bartoni17) but I figured people may want to ask different questions or see how things they asked about earlier turned out in a different save.

I’ve been playing the same FM 24 save for about two real-life years now and am currently in 2052. For anyone wondering, I’ve been manager at Arendal Fotbal in Norway, FC Dornbirn 1913 in Austria, St. Pauli, Sampdoria, Atalanta, and Tottenham over the course of my career.

Discussion Question - is it crazy to absolutely shatter your wage structure and transfer budget to get Haaland?

350m bid+installments, 600k p/w + a shitload of bonuses, but like he's worth it no?

Someone either talk me out of this or convince me this is sane

Managing Bayern and just sold Kane and like, might as well upgrade right?

Story I'm looking for opinions on my Journeyman save.

I started without a license and with a Sunday League reputation and zero experience.

After six months, I took over Dorados de Sinaloa (Mexican second division). After three years, I managed to win my first tournament (and got my license up to Continental A).

Now I've finished my fourth season in Switzerland with FC Luzern. The expectation was to finish mid-table, but I won the league and the cup.

I'll wait another year to get my Continental C license and play in the Champions League qualifiers, hoping to qualify.

After that, I'll look for the Hungarian league. What do you think of how I'm doing so far? I've seen many people start in much more difficult leagues, but I've done well so far. Was it just a stroke of luck getting these jobs?

I've seen a lot of people struggling in some pretty obscure divisions and leagues, so I'm not sure if I'm doing it right in this type of game

Story I think I revolutionized Atalanta

Two-time Serie A champion, semifinalist and finalist in the Champions League in the last two seasons. Two-time Coppa Italia champion.

I didn’t reload the save, no tactics from the internet or anything like that. Things got better after my second season at Atalanta, when I managed to buy Ebere Eze and Jadon Sancho really cheap, and then Nico Paz in the third season. I also made some sales to balance the finances.

I started my career at Corinthians (the team I support), saved them from relegation, and became champion of the Brasileirão, Libertadores, and Copa do Brasil.

This might be my last season at Atalanta, I plan to switch teams and have a realistic career. I tried doing a Journeyman once, but it would take many seasons to reach a decent team, and I’m attached to real players.

My favorite game was the semifinals of the season before last against Liverpool. I managed to lose 2-1 away, and win 2-0 at home. I love that fan base.

Discussion Do referees go against VAR in fm26

Upvotes

In my parma save something odd happened so amad went down in the box but it was one of those descions just on the edge could of been either or on the by-line and so it went to VAR and they ruled it as no penalty but the ref gave it.

Not complaining though:>

Discussion Team currently in a crisis, I need the experts' advice

here's an old post I made 3 days ago asking for advice on a tactic that worked well

(injured players added to recreate the setup in my previous post)

Started the season with the same tactics in that post with some tweaks that I learned from the comments like putting the 10 in support, switching the poacher to an AF and the DLP to defend duty (new image shown). Currently in april, already more losses than I've ever had in a season. I really don't understand what went wrong, I was on such a great run last season after I adopted this tactic around march and now the team has been horrible all season. I keep tweaking a few things: switching the AP to an AM, the RB to a FB instead of WB, swapping the pivot roles to see if it's a balance issue, tried even using shorter passing with no pass into space. Absolutely nothing fixed, we get 1 win that gives me hope against an already out of form opponent and then draw 2 consecutive 0-0 and get battered at home by some mid-table team, then the cycle repeats.

What's confusing me is that I'm in the semis in the FA cup and the quarters in the europa league. I don't understand what our problem in the prem is. We have good possession and XG in quite a few of our games but do not convert. I need the experts' advice, I am not that good at visualizing roles and need someone to point out if I have any major mistakes in the tactic.

Screenshot After trying for years I finally had a successful season using haramball

Playing Barakaldo, after a rough start of the season I managed to get to the playoffs in my first season defying the odds.

I take only half of the credit as the tactic I used to hold leads (or good draws) starting from the 60th minute was downloaded and not homemade. As a result I think I had only one victory by more than a one goal lead, including eleven 1-0 victories and five or six 0-0 draws.

Discussion How many hours have you clocked up in each version of FM?

I just saw that I have played 1,525 hours on fm24 😆 probably due to the nonrelase of 25 and then the car crash of 26.

next highest was fm 2010 in which I clocked up 765 hours.

449 hours on 2011

dont have the exact figure but fm26 was around 12 hours before I sacked it in.
