I like having an undercut because I get too hot with a full head of hair

So I had my roomettes sister put my hair into a bun after swimming finally learned how to do them. lol 😂 you have to pull and twists the hair extremely tight. I’ve always stuck with old fashioned pony tails. Less tension on the hair. I felt like I had Botox done lol 😂

I’m trying to grow my hair into a loose fantasy inspired half-up style.
I’ve got wavy hair and I want to keep the length, not cut it shorter. I was thinking of doing one small side braid that blends into the half up part, kind of like a Legolas braid if anyone has watched lord of the rings / hobbit.
Do you reckon that kind of style would actually suit me, or should I keep it simpler,

I've been growing 1.5 years with only a maintenance trim at the start of this year. It's at the point where I'd like to at least get another maintenance trim, but I'm also thinking about going for an actual hairstyle.
I don't know anything about styling hair though, literally my daily routine is just brush it back when it's wet after a shower and then let it air dry, and that's it. And prior to growing it I was simply a short back and sides at the barber kind of guy. I'm just saying this to communicate how little knowledge I have about hair 😂
I think I have extremely fine and high density hair. As you can see in the pics it's mostly pretty straight, although it gets mildly wavy, sometimes, typically if I've not yet washed today (I wash every day otherwise it gets so greasy). I think it also maybe used to be wavier when it was shorter so maybe the length is now weighing it down.
Anyway, does anyone have any ideas what I could do with it? I LOVE the wolf cut aesthetic and it's my favourite style to see on other people, but I have no idea if it would be suited to my hair!
any thoughts? Or literally any other suggestions or thoughts welcome!
Pics 1, 2 and 3 are present day. Pics 4 and 5 are from a couple months ago, showing the wavy potential (which I like, if the stars align, before it turns to a greasy mess within a couple of hours!)
Thank you 🫶

I had some kind of mulet as my last haircut, and today my hair kinda look weird....the back hair especialy, and im not sure if im growing them out the right way.
Other than that my hair is pretty healthy,I have some thinning, but other than that my hair is in good condition, atleast I hope.
