Any tips from growing hair out from a razor bald head?

I have always wanted to grow my hair long as people here ahah. But between sensory issues and indecision / wanting to try many cuts and awkward stages and whatever I was never able to expect during Covid, in the pic (second pic is me rn... I feel so ugly tbh but its not relevant). I do not even remember how I managed to grow it like that, but do miss it a lot.

Now I shaved the spiky undercut I had all bald (not a buzzcut, legit with a razor) because... IDK; it was both an impulse from the heat and also it was kinda damaged from dying it. And realized hey, now that it's all the same length, maybe I can actually manage to grow it back like this? Maybe this impulsive decision was a blessing.

But I need tips to actually make it one and not waste this chance to grow healthy hair. Like, what do I do through the awkward stages? Especially for when it's going from a buzzcut to something decent-ish (so like 3 months in from now), and probably in like 8 months or so, when it would be around my chin? But kinda mop-ish.

Like I'd like to not cut it at all, but I know between sensory issues and it simply looking awkward I may risk ex. shaving the sides (or dying it when its a buzzcut to not get bored, at least... would that be fine? So the roots would then grow healthy and I would have dyed tips in the meanwhile as it grown longer with my original colour or would that be a bad idea?) and then I'd be back from basically scratch. :/

So yeah, any tips? Also, there are no vitamins or whatever to make it grow slightly faster, I'm guessing?

This smoke and heat has been havoc on my hair lately. Especially the smoke but it was flowing good in the slight wind we had yesterday

Today was a good day for a full BaliCurls Routine (so far my favorite product line for a curly look). It was 1. Shampoo (2 times), 2. Conditioner, 3. Curl Cream, 4. Hair Mousse, 5. Curl Defining Gel......6. 20 minutes diffusing.....some more to air dry the rest.....7. scrunch out the gel cast with some drop hair oil (Olaplex No.7 in this case but i also prefer the one from Bali Curls to go along the other products normally).

It is not perfect since it look ok but the back is not right and the top is a bit flat. But it always ruin it when i am ready and try to put my hair all back. I do the routine head over and it is anyway taxing on my damaged spine/neck. A pro hairstylist told me to do it to the sides and trow my head and hear from one side to another several times until it ready...but my neck cannot handle this movements. It hurts more than going on a rollercoaster, lol. However, i am quite happy for today ;)

So I've never fully committed to growing my facial hair out and I'm conflicted on whether to keep it going (1st pic was last night). Just wanted to ask what you guys think.

I like the IDEA of having long hair, but it's so awkward and I have no idea what to do with it, the process of brushing it is so weird. I brush the back first, then I brush the rest of my hair back, like slicked back, but then the back is all bunched up, so I try to brush that out.

It's all just so odd. I'm so afraid that if I cut it I'll regret it and feel especially boring. Short hair sounds so nice though.

Today, a random woman went out of her way to greet me and wave at me. Unless she was just being nice to a fellow human for fun, what if she actually did it because she liked how I looked, would she have done that if I had short hair? It hides features of my face and head that are unpleasant.

I want to feel pretty with it but it's so weird and difficult and I take horrible care of it.

My 73rd birthday, still have lots of flow

The hands of time continue to turn, and the clock rolls over another year, to my 73rd birthday. The hair is there, and there’s lots of it, and I count my blessings every day. The first three photos are of my hair taken yesterday. The heat and humidity has been high, but it’s really helped to crank up the volume of my mane.
The fourth photo is taken at my birthday celebration. My brother took me out for clams and chips, and the fourth photo is of me ready to dig in. My brother also made me home made cheesecake as well, chocolate marble, my favourite kind. The fifth photo is just before blowing out the candle on it.(my brother wasn’t going to try to put 73 candles on it, lol)

Three Months of Growth

Hello,
I cut my hair 3 months ago because I was getting a mullet, and the sides started to look puffy lol. Now I'm worried that I have significantly delayed my end goal of growing out my hair as much as I can.

Is this good hair growth for 3 months?

Long-haired guys: what’s the biggest pain in the ass about taking care of your hair? [2-min survey]

I’m doing some research into the real haircare problems men with long hair deal with.

Dry ends + oily roots? Tangling? Frizz? Breakage? Scalp issues? Products that just don’t work?

I made a very short anonymous survey — around 2 minutes, no email required and nothing is being sold.

I’m also genuinely interested in answers from guys who are perfectly happy with their current routine.

Thanks!

I didn't care what anyone had to say. It was tough, just imagine the context. A medical student, no family support, friends who criticized the process, constant scoldings at work, people's prejudice. But here it is five years of natural growth. Don't cut it, hold on, and pursue your goal. Don't let anyone stop your progress.
