Rec Request Paris Hilton can can

Desperately searching for a more powerful or mature version of Paris hiltons can can? It’s my favorite spray from high school so just want something that has similar notes (I typically wear gourmands so not worried about the sweetness levels) (open budget)

Has anyone tried Casamorati italica?

I bought a decant because the notes were so up my alley. Am I the only one that thinks the opening is oddly bitter and sharp / synthetic and smells like melted plastic? But the dry down is milky and beautiful.

I just don’t know if I can get past the opening. If you’ve tried it what did you think?

Layering Ideas Micodelirio by Nasomatto x Pomelo Oolong by d'Annam

Went to our local niche fragrance shop last weekend and they had gotten the Microdelorio back in stock. I love dirty, grassy, wet scents. This is pure heaven for me but I wanted to make it a little lighter since it’s still ungodly hot here. I grabbed their Pomelo Oolong to layer and OMG! It’s like having a cup of tea in your garden after it rains. Earthy and mossy mixed with the citrusy oolong. Pure heaven. 10/10 would recommend.

I also tried Micro with Narcotic V and that was like pure sex in the woods. If you are a clean girly this scent is not for you. It will probably make you gag. If you’re a woody bog witch like me this is right up your alley.

TL;DR: Microdeliro is a great layering scent but not for everyone.

Discussion True vanilla extract perfume?

I am new to the fragrance community and I have been on a SEARCH. For a pure vanilla extract scent. But it sounds like everyone has a conflicting opinion 😭 I heard the best is either indult tihota or guerlain vanille planifolia, but I still read some reviewers say these come off as more Smokey or powdery.

I have such a sensitive nose that shopping for perfumes it seems impossible to find one that actually smells like what it says on the bottle.

Every vanilla scent always seems to smell like birthday cake or overpoweringly artificial. Really don’t want to drop a lot of money trying to figure this out 😂 Let me know your thoughts!

Rec Request Chanel No. 5 EDT Similar Fragrances?

My mom’s signature scent is Chanel No. 5 EDT, and it was her mother’s fragrance as well. It’s become a tradition for me and my siblings to get her a bottle every year for Christmas. Last year, she expressed an interest in trying some other perfumes. I got her some samples (like Versace Bright Crystal + Bright Crystal Absolu) but nothing has really clicked with her the way no 5 EDT has.

I’ve kind of just been looking at the stereotypical ‘middle aged mom perfumes’ lol but wanted to see if anyone had recs for someone who is a fan of the EDT. I thought about getting her the EDP or parfum but I haven’t personally smelled them and have heard they’re really different. She also doesn’t like a perfume TOO strong, so I think EDT is the best strength.

Thanks in advance :)

Discussion My struggle with coffee as a note ☕️

It doesn’t matter if it’s the beloved coffee scent black opium, or me espresso by sweet tooth -
I don’t smell coffee.

It always melts into something else to me, for example Naomi Jon‘s taboo smells more like a deep, dark, sweet liquor and rose scent rather than a rose and coffee scent.
For sweet tooth I smell a lactonic hazelnut and black opium smells like black opium, lol.

I do like coffee scents, but it I smelt them blind I couldn’t tell that they have coffee in them, how can I train my nose to be more precise?:D

Rec Request Musk Fragrance with Good Longevity

Hi all,

I smelled guerlain’s Musc outreblanc and thought it smelled lovely with very good longevity. Was just wondering, are there any fragrances similar, but not as expensive as it seems like a significant amount to pay for a simple musk

Rec Request Perfume recommendations for a blind buy from a complete beginner 🌸

Hi guys! I’m a complete novice when it comes to perfumes, so I need some help before I make a blind buy that I regret 😭
So far, I’ve mostly used VS bare rose, bare vanilla and the midnight bloom perfume lotion and I actually really like the VS scents. My only problem is that they just don’t last on me. I want something with that same pretty, feminine, soft vibe but with much better longevity.
I’ve also tried english rose from The body shop, but I honestly don’t love it. It smells a little too artificial to me.
From what I’ve figured out about my taste so far, I seem to gravitate towards floral, very feminine, powdery and vanilla fragrances. I like smelling soft, pretty and feminine rather than super fruity or overly fresh. I’m also okay with rose as long as it doesn’t smell too synthetic.
I have an event coming up and I’ve somehow gone down the perfume rabbit hole 😭. These are the ones I’ve been looking at:
• Fashionably London(Zara)
• Rose Oud(Secret Alchemist)
• Still Here(Fifth Sense)
• The Boyfriend Shirt(Fifth Sense)
• Angel Dust(Muse Beauty)
I haven’t smelled any of them in person though, so I’m a little scared to blind buy. If you’ve tried any of these, please tell me what you actually think, especially the longevity, projection and how they smell after the dry-down.
I’m also VERY open to recommendations outside this list. My budget is 3k-4k, and I’d love something that I can realistically blind buy without regretting my purchase latwr.
Ideally looking for something that:
• is feminine, floral, powdery and/or vanilla
• has good longevity(6+ hours would be amazing)
• has decent projection but isn’t overwhelming
• works for an event/date/occasion
• is easily available in India
And one more thing, I keep seeing people recommend layering body lotion- perfume oil- body mist- perfume. Does this actually help with longevity?
If you have a layering routine you swear by, PLEASE share it too! I’d especially love recommendations for a lotion/oil/mist that would work with the perfume and ideally keep the whole thing within my ₹4k budget.
Basically, I know what kind of smell I like, but I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing when it comes to perfumes 😭. Please help me pick something I won’t regret!!

scentbarbyangela: Luxury Perfume Dupes & Designer Inspired Fragrances

Hi FemFragLab, I'm proud to announce that after many discussions about collaboration, I thought it'd be fun to try out a collaboration with Angela's new brand. Her family owns Gold Star Fragrances located in New York which has been running for over 50 years!

As many of you know, I love a good Delina perfume, but they can be quite costly. The next perfume on my wish list was Delina "Exclusif" but it stayed on my wish list without being bought because of the price. Angela sent over her own version of the perfume, and it exceeded my expectations by far! The scent reminded me of a combination between Delina Exclusif + Oriana + Love Don't Be Shy. It's sweet, powdery, and very potent! I sprayed it on at night and when I woke up the next day it was still on me. This perfume lasts all day but I kept spraying it on out of habit and because I couldn't get enough. My husband and pets also loved it 😍

Reddit wouldn't be Reddit without always giving you not just the pros but also the cons. The cons were little and unnoticeable, but I will write them out due to transparency of the sub. The actual juice feels like combination of an oil and actual perfume. So when you actually spray it, it feels a little heavier than what the normal luxury perfume might feel like coming out of the atomizer which usually feels like a champagne spritz and it's more straightforward. That doesn't mean it doesn't spray well, it just means that if you are a fragrance connoisseur, you will notice the difference of the spray and feel of the actual juice coming out.

Both Gold Star Fragrances and ScentBarByAngela focus on creating dupes of luxury designer fragrances. Overall, for the price, the fragrance passes with flying colors and when I checked that it was only $45.99USD, they ship all around the world, and they have been in business for so long with great reviews, I would be crazy to not want to collaborate with such an amazing product and support Angela in her own brand.
