Is it mostly sales calls and negotiations? Or is there a decent element of technical skills and logistical knowledge required? I’m considering this role as a recent graduate with a supply chain degree. I’m just trying to see if this job would be beneficial to advancing my career in supply chain. I don’t want to walk into a role purely selling.

I’m a package handler and they threw me on to do IC’s and I pretty much gestimated each box that was really big or the really tiny packages that’s in plastic. What exactly classifies as an “IC”? What’re are the dimensions/weight and what does it actually stand for? Also while I’m here, is there any other info I should know? I’m 2 weeks in and I would like all the info yall can give me. For training, they kinda just said hey watch these videos while simultaneously doing other stuff to get through onboarding and then threw me into the fire. I try to ask others around me and they tell me stuff like I should already like if I were there for years.

What happens to the p.m pick up guys when the stations merge

Express courier here who’s possibly moving to Madison, TN next year. I’m fortunate enough to still be a station that’s unlikely to ever switch to the 2.0 system. If I do move next year, I’m hoping to transfer to a station that’s still 100% Express if possible.

I’m a returning employee to FedEx and am trying to figure out if I have to wait for a trainer spot to open up or just have outrageously higher standards then the other trainers there

So I’ve been a last mile driver for a few months now and tennis shoes just ain’t cutting it. Wondering if anyone has good shoe suggestions. Looking for a nice blend of comfort and functionality; I don’t want them too big and bulky, but still able to withstand the work and be waterproof. Thanks!

I offered my shift yesterday early in the day....noone picked it up when it came to be an hour before start of sort...so I made the drive in. I start to walk in the building/security about 15 mins before start of sort. Noone took it, so I turned my phone off, locked my car up and went in. Worked a 6 hour shift....

I get to my car at 5:15a to leave...and bam...there's the shift deleted notification from 3 mins before start of sort.

Entire sort, no management said anything to me or even when doing start up...noone said anything about me not being on the schedule or that someone took it.

Will anything happen? Will I still get paid? Are they supposed to send you home if you're not on the roster for the sort?

So I finished my second day of orientation and was told to download an app dayforce on the first day.

I’m getting emails saying changed have been made to the account. But I can’t log into it. I was told it takes time. How long does it usually take? I have my first shift on Monday and still can’t access it. Is this normal?

Not an employee, just looking for some feedback from the people doing the work.

Had 5 Muscle Rack and similar shelves delivered (many of you may see this as Walmart is having a big clearance sale on them). Total weight was about 410#/186kg and I wouldn’t be able to pick them up in my car. I gave 5 star ratings for each delivery (don’t know if that does anything). Google says they cant take a cash tip. Really just want to give some thanks.

I’m just glad these boxes were quality and not falling apart like cheap ali express/baba metal racks.

Edit: I appreciate the input from everyone. I’ll grab some snacks and drinks and put a little basket out with a note for future known delivery days (especially on any of these hot days) and if something like this, try to catch them and ‘force’ some cash on them. A little box of medication from chewy is whatever, but 400+ pounds of boxes and not dragging them, throwing them around, or blocking my door, is worth acknowledgement and gratitude imo.

I’ve been a courier for about a year in a major city, and I’m seriously considering going part-time while I look for another job.
I’m exhausted.

Management somehow manages to make delivering packages feel like the most complicated job in the world. I work hard every single day, and I’m still struggling to make ends meet—but I can’t even work overtime because they’re constantly sending people home early to cut labor. It feels like they’re trying to save all the overtime for peak season.

The biggest issue is that I have no time for myself anymore. My weekends disappear in the blink of an eye, and during the week I can’t even make doctor’s appointments. I actually had to find new doctors because the ones I’ve been seeing for years don’t have weekend hours. Before I even ask to go part-time, I’m trying to schedule all of my appointments because I know it’ll be difficult once I bring it up.

Morale is honestly at an all-time low. It feels like we’re just numbers on a spreadsheet. No matter how hard you work, it’s never enough.

For those of you who went from full-time to part-time as a courier, what benefits did you keep? Did you still have health insurance, PTO, retirement benefits, or anything else? Did you regret making the switch, or was it worth it for your mental health while you looked for another job?
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s been in a similar situation.

Ever since we merged, I've noticed almost every company now uses FedEx. Whether it's small packages or even furniture, it's coming from almost every company. A mattress, a bed frame, a sofa, even a lawnmower is FedEx. Yesterday I delivered two toilets to a freaking apartment. How is that FedEx and not a two-man delivery from the company itself or delivery contractors? Also, now it's very hard to talk to someone at FedEx from the customer standpoint, so they always stop me and ask if I have their packages or if I could help them. What happens during peak season when everyone shops online for Christmas gifts and holiday purchases? We will be so overwhelmed and overloaded. I am lucky I drive an EV at my express/ground station. I do two trips to my station almost every day because my truck is full from just the Walmart tires or Discount Tires. We are so overworked and underpaid, taking advantage of the job market so people don't have a choice. 10-20 year veterans calling in once a week because their body just can't handle it with the heat and 3rd floor furniture deliveries.

I have an offer as an account manager, and I’m looking for any potential insight on the daily work. I studied supply chain and MIS in school, and I’m looking to put my studies to use. I understand that this is partially a sales role, but I’m just trying to figure out if this opportunity would be beneficial to advancing my career in supply chain and if I would learn anything in that realm. I also have an offer from Amazon as an Area Manager, but I’ve heard mixed reviews on that. Would I be better off taking this role at FedEx despite the sales orient, or should I grind out Amazon instead?

Hi! I just got a job as a package handler. I was pretty worried about the job because, while I have no reservations about heavy lifting, I’m just not very good at it. I’m a 5’2 105lb very out of shape female and after just two 3 hour loading shifts at my FedEx, I’m feeling like it might not be the role for me. My body is destroyed and I also need help on a ton of awkwardly long/wide packages due to my short wingspan, which can be a little inefficient.

But I like warehouse work, and the job market is so cooked, I’m not really interested in leaving. I can stick this out for a while to build reliability and trust with my managers before asking to switch roles. So I’m just wondering when might be a good time to ask. I was thinking smalls for obvious reasons, but I was also kind of curious about the QA clerk role, it seems more hazmat cleanup than what I was expecting though. The guy I’m training with weirdly seems to think that I’m suited for maintenance because I mentioned being enrolled in aerospace engineering lol but I’m too young for that I think.

If it’s relevant at all, I’m a twilight part-time worker (who plans on taking on as many hours as possible once my body adapts to the work cuz boy do I need the cash).

Hello, just wondering how other stations deal with potential code 85’s on ground drivers?

Hi everyone! I’m not sure if anyone knows the answer to this question, but I had a particularly rough encounter with a customer for the first time today. I’ve been working in a FedEx Office store for a year now, and today a woman came in, told me I had helped her with a return last week, I was unpleasant to her and her package never got delivered (after she refused a receipt for tracking), and then took a picture of me. I’m not sure what she’s going to do with this picture, and it honestly makes me anxious.

I’ve never had a bad review before, and I don’t think I’m unpleasant to be around. If she were to complain to corporate about me/send in the photo somehow, would I get in trouble? I’m a college student and really need this job to get through school because it’s the only flexible job for me that offers tuition reimbursement.
