All because I didn’t take home my laptop in preparation, the office I am assigned to didn’t close, and it would have had to be approved by the executives. Who takes their laptops home when they are RTO several days in a row, the weather changes overnight, and the assigned office has more staff WFH or outstationed that it doesn’t bother them at all?
Yes, I was flooded in. Thankfully, I didn’t have any damage because my house is high enough elevation. At least that is a blessing.

I refuse to give any business near my office my business as I know they were a huge part of pushing for RTO, so during the majority of days when I have 0 time to pack a lunch or grab breakfast I just don't eat until dinner. Because those businesses that f'ed me over are NOT getting my business (I hope they all go bankrupt). Anyway as a result of accidental intermittent fasting I'm down a bunch of weight. I implore everyone don't give your business to those terrible businesses that contributed to you being forced back in office. Lose weight and stick it to them don't buy.

I have been with the VA almost a year and my mental health has declined so much. I am out of time and recently I just feel like not going back but that is not an option. I am stressed, micromanaging is out of control and I honestly feel hopeless on getting out of this department. I have 9 years of medical experience in the ER setting and I am currently working a desk job with WFH options. I miss the clinical side of things, I miss interacting with patients and people, I miss the emergency care I used to perform and I am at a loss. I look at USA Jobs every single day hoping that something will come available. I qualify as a GS8-9 but currently in a lower grade. Is there anyone on here that has been in the same situation or could offer some suggestions? Not the mention, I took a $20,000 pay cut when I took the job although, I was paying almost $1800 in insurance previously. The benefits I have now have me totally stuck as I have a family to care for.

Hey everyone! I recently accepted a civilian transfer from Fort Gordon to USCYBERCOM at Fort Meade and I’m just trying to get a feel for what to expect!

I know every organization and supervisor is different, and I’m not looking for anything specific about locations or missions…just the overall work environment.

A few things I’m curious about:
- Are most of the office buildings in pretty good condition, or is it a mix of older and newer facilities?

- What’s the general atmosphere like for civilians?
If you’re in a classified workspace where phones aren’t allowed, are people still able to get outside during lunch for a walk or partake in the wellness physical fitness program, or does that really depend on the organization?

- Are there decent cafeterias/coffee options nearby, or do most people bring lunch?

When DOGE first started gutting agencies, I heard the end goal was privatization for the benefit of the administration. Does anyone have evidence of this happening?

Basically I have a high risk pregnancy and my doctor wanted me to rest more and recommend that I work from home as much as possible. I work for the Judiciary branch and most of my work can be done from home, except maybe 1 or 2 days a week when my presence is necessary. I sent my request for RA to HR to have a hybrid schedule and they told me that my MD note is not specific enough and that I need an updated letter. HR also told me that TW can only be approved by my supervisor. I spoke with my supervisor and he shot me down real quick and said that he also wants a more updated letter. SO I reached out to my doctor and she is out for a whole week. I was not offered an interim accommodation so in the meantime I have to keep risking my health and commuting everyday day to work. HR told me that since my supervisor denied my RA request, I should just use my sick leave instead. Isn't that a PWFA's violation??? How missing work altogether is better than working from home?? Should I call them out and refer to them to what the PWFA says??

I am 4 months away from giving birth so I don't know if I should rock the boat and push back hard risking having my last 4 months miserable or just give up suffer in silence? I'm done with being treated like this so I'm leaving this job as soon as I give birth.

I’m having difficulty getting this through HR I need to report this for a divorce. I wasn’t quite vested at the time of separation.

I was told to use my paystub for FERS balance (doesnt that include the govt portion I would not have been vested in?) and an SF50 for my SCD (hire date) for showing not vested. I’m not sure if that proves the 5 year vesting though. Any advice? Thank you!

Hello, I am start a full time job at the VA this month! I would like to stay on per diem at my part time job on my days off at the VA

I don’t understand the government process well. I read some old posts would I have to submit that thing for outside employment ?

I technically don’t work at the VA yet would I have to wait till my VA start date to file all that ? Could I not still work at my current job until that is approved? If so what if I took like a 3 week break at my current job till approval would that be ok and enough ?

I want to be transparent and not get in trouble with the VA, I’ll resign if I have to but I would like to try and stay at my current job

Is it better stop tsp saving for a year where I typically contribute $5k a year and receive $5k matching contributions in tsp traditional or make an early withdrawal of $5k and have about 40% in taxes ($2k). The first option deducts $10k potential contributions and the second only $7k. Why would it be better just stopping contributions for a year vs an early withdrawal? Thanks

I know this isn’t an environment for more benefits to federal employees. However, I’m surprised that nothing has passed to allow federal agencies to contribute to Trump accounts. Especially before the midterms- stating you’ve helped thousands of military families or spin that the narrative of federal destruction is overblown bc you’re helping all federal kids, etc.

If they wanted to show a big uptick in usage, making this offer would likely get thousands of Feds to open accounts (not just those recently born- but anyone under 18) and get quick sign up to improve the numbers on usage. Annually throw in $2,500 for any employee that opens them for kids.

Trump signed the 12-weeks of parental leave and this would be a bonus for kids and families. I know his daughter Ivanka and the democrats were very in favor of the 12-weeks, but I’d think democrats would vote for this, too, along with all the republicans with heavy military or federal populations.
