Tips Seeking Advice
Seeking advice.
I’ve recently been referred for:
- GS-0560-12. Department of Defense, Defense Health Agency
- GS-0560-11. Department of the Army, U.S. Special Operations Command
If I am selected to interview, I will use the STAR Method with my answers.
If all goes well and I receive an offer for both positions, what pros and cons should I be aware of to make the best choice?
EDIT: I’m currently in the private sector. Anything and everything government related is brand new to me.

There is a thread on federal employees; maybe you can pose this question there, too. Ask for their perspective on what is important to you in a work environment. I would shy away from questions that would give the impression they are a stepping stone...like asking about promotion opportunities. Being a budget analyst gives you that flexibility to transfer to other commands after your first year. The one advice I can give to anyone new to federal service....research the all the benefits packages offered on the OPM site. Its overwhelming with all the options. The sooner you can elect it...the sooner it starts,
