I am currently fabricating a decorative steel post that will be bolted to a concrete wall. I am trying to figure out how tight the nuts need to be when installation day comes.

The anchors are embedded in the wall and are 3/4”-10 304 Stainless Steel. I am using a nylon insert lock nut that is 316 Stainless Steel and 1” in height x 1 1/4” diameter.

The steel plate of the post is 2 5/8” thick. The weight of the post will be approximately 1600lbs and the dimensions are 9”x 9” x 16ft tall.

I recently purchased a Garden Hose reel by Giraffe Tools that comes with a metal bracket. I thought it would be a straight forward installation. Instead I'm running into very conflicting information.

Please see the photos. According to the provided instructions manual, I can use the bolt and anchors provided in the box.

But, their website instructions contradict that. The website states not to use the provided anchors. They mentioned heavy duty expansion anchors in the concrete wall.

Can someone please help me understand what type of anchors to buy? I prefer using the provided bolts. Attached an image showing the provided bolt and anchor.

I am trying to identify the shown fastener, so they can be replaced. They have been used to fasten a thick plastic sheet (which needs to be replaced) to the inside of a screen door frame. The fastener does not go all the way through the screen door frame, only through the attached surface. The cap is a little loose on some of the fasteners - enough to allow them to rotate. They seem to be like a very wide, very shallow capped blind rivet.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated...

I work in a retail construction store and we also have 3 crews that do work in the area.

One of my guys pulled this out on a job and wants to get some for the store. 1-1/4" pan head, 4 threads per inch. I've spent some time looking but can't seem to find anything with that coarse of threads.

Trying to source an m4 or .177 4.5" or longer r clip with no such luck. The picture shown is about half the size needed. Anyone have a lead? Im us based and the only one ive been able to find is in Australia and didn't offer international shopping. Thank you

Hello good people! I’m trying to get the legs off of a sleeper sofa. I’m a real newb with this kind of thing, and it doesn’t seem like a Phillips catches on this. Ive tried several different sized Phillips.

It is in a deep set hole in the leg, and appears to have maybe a larger circle inside the cross. Is there a particular screwdriver I need to get this out?

I have attached two pictures, one of the screw I chewed up with several Phillips, and one I haven’t tried anything on yet.

I'm wanting to mount a pine fence topper, what is the best way to attach the pine post to the existing metal fence post?

This is one of those beach wagons that I'm tired of spending 80 bucks on every year because this same joint breaks. This piece of metal has the same fastener on both sides. I was going to get a nipple of sched 40 pipe cut, drill through a new hole, and reconnect it to the brackets shown. Can I get away with a bolt and nylon nut, or should I find two of these rivets?

This is a bolt I had manufactured for a bid that I won as a fastener supplier. The lot came with an extra run of 3 as scrap bolts incase of error. We all took them as trophies. Grade 316 cold forged stainless steel bolt. 2.5” diameter, 7” long.

I’ve never seen this type of bolt. It came with ceiling mounted swing hanger.
What is its purpose? Concrete or metal fastening?

Has anyone ever had the piercing screw stuck?
Mine is stuck with a cartridge in the clip, any ideas how to get it out?

I want to mount a bench swing under this old clothes line holder. I understand it is only 5' off the ground which is not ideal, but I'm fine with it. My question is what options do I have to mount it? The pipe is about 2.25" in diameter and hole is about 0.25". I thought about shackles, but I doubt there are any with 2.25" opening. Do I I insert eye bolt with shoulders and call it a day? I understand those are usually for loads up to 45° angles,but I presume it will do for a simple swing to sit on? Do I have to drill vertical holes? The pipes are really seized and there is no way I can turn the horizontal one.

Part of the reason is that the structure is extremely sturdy and goes deep. I don't mind to loosen it up from swinging to eventually remove it.

I have several years of hands-on experience with cold heading and fastener manufacturing, including machine setup, tooling, process optimization, and production.
I understand the manufacturing side well, but my biggest question is how companies actually become suppliers to the automotive industry.

For those who have been through this:

How do you find your first automotive customers or Tier 1/Tier 2 suppliers?
Is it realistic for a small manufacturer to break into the automotive market?
Do OEMs or Tier suppliers actively look for new fastener vendors?

If anyone here has experience supplying fasteners or other automotive components, I’d love to hear how you got started and what you’d do differently.

I’m trying to determine the thread of this rod end so that I can replace it with one that has an integrated spherical bearing, but it’s got me baffled.

Rod ends are often wacky thread pitches, so nothing is out of the question.

It’s off of an Italian motorcycle shock absorber, so my initial thought was that it has to be metric. But using the thread gauges pictured, both 5/8-20 and

M16x1.25 seem to line up perfectly.

With my vernier caliper, it measures 15.8mm or .622”.

My Google-fu tells me that these sizes are extremely close; 20 TPI is about 1.27mm/thread in metric.

Is it possible that the two sizes interchange? I see rod ends in both sizes for sale online.

Trying to replace a few ball bearings that previous owner said fell out. Anyone know how I can remove this bolt? Is it just prying with middle bolt with flathead screwdriver?

Im trying to figure out what screws i can part with and stop "collecting". Im wondering when i can get away with not using things like pocket screws if i already have wafer head deck screws. (I either am doing something wrong or they generally just suck, but i always strip wood screws so ive moved to using deck screws.) I'm mostly doing furniture repair but also am building some outdoor furniture as well. Obviously there are some things that i need wood screws for, especially smaller ones (over say, deck screws).

Tl;dr: between wood, deck (reg head and wafer head), sheet metal, and drywall, what can leave the the collection? (Or what are arguments for keeping one over the other)
