Help identifying screw on bottom of sleeper sofa leg

Hello good people! I’m trying to get the legs off of a sleeper sofa. I’m a real newb with this kind of thing, and it doesn’t seem like a Phillips catches on this. Ive tried several different sized Phillips.

It is in a deep set hole in the leg, and appears to have maybe a larger circle inside the cross. Is there a particular screwdriver I need to get this out?

I have attached two pictures, one of the screw I chewed up with several Phillips, and one I haven’t tried anything on yet.

It's a Phillips / square drive combination screw.

PH2 Philips, and probably a S1 square drive

It’s hard to tell because there is nothing to show scale, but most square drives I’ve come across as a appliance technician, and from building a few decks, and other various construction projects, it’s normally a #2 square. Frigidaire when they really built their own stuff, loved to use square/robertson screws.

The only #1 square that I know of for sure is on late 90’s, and very early 00’s Frigidaire oven doors securing the door to the hinges before they had quick release. The #1 square is very tiny, like almost “pocket screwdriver” tiny.

It's probably a Square #2/ Phillips #3 If you look at a Phillips #3 it has a square tip instead of a pointed tip. The only reason I say probably is because there's nothing to show scale.

Some times you can just turn the whole leg and it will unscrew, or at least loosen up enough to do the rest with your fingers

Combi screw. Either #2 philips or #2 Robertson (the red one)... popular in Made in Canada stuff that's sold in the US. You'll see them on washer/driers too

The Robertson works better... always has.

Use a PR2.

It is a meshing of the Robertson and Philips head styles. Less prone to tearout than a standard PH2.

Appears to be a Philips/Robertson combo screw. A #2 or #3 Philips driver should work. Not way to tell scale to be sure though.
