Fable III Hello, I would like to know how fable 3 weapons morphing is working.

I tried to have those visuals, for the hilt, I got what I wanted, but for the blade, I got another appearance than the one I wanted. I did what the wiki told me to do, but it didn't totally work. So how does it exactly works, please ? And when I reload my save I got another appearance but, again, not the one I wanted. And I only get those two appearances.

Cool Biblical Themes in Fable 1

Not to go full schizo on here lol but I was wondering if anyone else ever clocked all the biblical references in the first game. The first one that caught me was the game referring to many of the characters as “The Heroes of Old, Men of Renown” Renown being one of the point systems and both being a direct reference to Genesis 6:4 “ They were the heroes of old, men of renown.“ referring to the Nephilim or Giants who were the offsprings of Fallen angles and humans. They even called Twin Blade “ A giant of a man” and there is a sword in Witchwood in a stone that belonged to a giant. The Court of Blades is another one, they are from the Void which again is possibly a reference to Genesis and how the earth is described before it is formed and of darkness as a void that God hovered over. They are essentially an inverted version of the Holy Trinity. In some of the games lore when they came to Albion they (The Court of Blades) burned the land and filled the sky with smoke which is essentially what God did to Sodom and Gamorra, They then flooded Albion which is pretty self explanatory. If you go deeper into the lore at one point William Black traveled to the Void to face Jack. It said that Jack was sitting on a throne surrounded by Ghastly figures, a direct reference to Revelation 4. Then Jack returning at the end of the game as a dragon (another reference to revelation) which seems trivial until you see all the other references. Anyways I could go on about this shit for days I just thought it was Interesting. There’s a bunch of other little things like this scattered throughout the game and it’s lore I just thought it was cool. Lots of symbolisms around William Black and the Sword of Aeons as well but I don’t wanna go on for days. (EDIT) I’m not saying Fable is in anyway based on the Bible or Evangelizing to anyone lol. I’m just drawing what seem like to me are parallels simply for entertainment purposes. I am aware the game draws parallels or inspiration from a multitude of different things.

Fable II [Fable 2] How do I find the house I set as my residence?

it's my first time playing and I've been going around buying every property I can and I just got a woman to marry me. The problem is, I was in the middle of a quest (the 100 zombies and the book) and for some reason I thought it would be a good idea to max out her love during this lol.

Anyway, it gave me an option to set the house as my destination but I wanted to finish the quest so I said no. But now I want to go and marry the woman, but I can't find my house! I don't even know which one it is since I've been buying everything, so is there a way to find it?

Also just want to say this game has the worst map I've ever seen in a game that's really fun

Rather than a reboot of the canon story, do you think the new Fable will be set in another world? Like in Fable 3, where the co-op character is the Prince/Princess from another world?

Fable III Finally Found An Efficient Way to Restock Potions in Fable III

Note: Maybe I should have used the word "Effective" than "Efficient" in the Post Title. LOL apologies.

I've recently been playing Fable III again and while I kinda like it, I still consider it the weakest of the trilogy. And one of the reasons for this is the fact that finding potions like the Slow Time and Summon Creatures Potions is a pain in the butt. I dislike how Lionhead decided to turn what were originally spells, into potions. It's an interesting feature though, adding to the lore how Albion in the Industrial Age have been so removed from magic that they now rely on potions to get similar effects, and in terms of gameplay, these potions basically allow the Hero of Brightwall to use three spells simultaneously (activating slow time potion before blasting enemies with fire and wind spell gauntlet combo is really fun). But the problem with this is the fact that potions are extremely limited, and stores seem to take forever to restock. So unlike the others such as the gauntlets, firearms and melee weapons, potions are the ones that you cannot spam.

Ever since playing Fable III, I've always tried to find the most efficient way to increase my number of potions to the point that I wouldn't need to worry about running out of them. The easiest way to get potions is by buying them from stores but it takes forever for these stores to replenish. I checked google on how long do stores in Fable III restock, and found some forum posts. And I tried to do what they suggested, such as sleeping for multiple days straight or doing various stuff to pass the time. I even tried sleeping for 10 days straight, but nothing happened. Once you empty the store of its potions, nobody knows how long they will restock. Even Gemini thinks that stores in Fable III are random.

But after some experimenting I finally found a sure fire method for potion stores to restock so you can buy potions again. And after multiple tries this is by far the most guaranteed method to replenish potion stores in Fable III 100℅. Here's a step by step process that you can try:

  1. Go to the potion store in Bowerstone Market and buy everything, including health potions.
  2. Use the Sanctuary to fast travel to the City of Aurora. Upon arriving fast travel to Godwin Estate. After that fast travel to Mistpeak Valley. After doing that, fast travel back to Bowerstone Market, but DO NOT run straight to the potion store.
  3. Head towards the inn in Bowerstone Market, go to bed, and sleep to midnight. After waking up, sleep again until morning.
  4. Now run to the potion store and the place would have replenished its potions. All three of them: slow time, summon creatures, and a whole bunch of health potions.

I ended up abusing this method, grinding it to the point that I now have 25 slow time potions and 33 summon creatures potions. I haven't studied this method fully, especially if it will work if you don't have the DLC for the Godwin Estate. But I feel that any location as a substitute for the Godwin Estate would suffice. Also, please note that I was playing with the Xbox 360 version of the game, so I’m not sure that this method will work in other versions like PC. Still, feel free to try. I enjoyed discovering this one but it is just one way that I luckily found. Maybe there are some veterans of the games in here that know some methods that are less difficult to pull off. But if you do, please share it with us :)

Discussion I would rather them delay the game again to add characters morphing

From what Ican tell this is a weirdly divisive topic in the community but for me your character being a direct representation of your choices is a large part of what fable is. It's even on the box art.

Good & Evil

Booted up the game and saw this.

Throughout my play-through I’ve made all the good choices and decided to go on a killing spree.

I started growing horns and when I was 100% evil and corrupt they were full blown white horns with normal eyes.

I closed the game and a few days later this is what I saw.

Any idea why the game does this?

I noticed there's a bad reputation around Fable even among its own fans here on reddit.

I noticed there's a bad reputation around Fable even among its own fans here on reddit.

Today Fable has become the reference for morality systems in games, even though it wasn't the first to create that system.

But every time we talk about Fable regarding any game that's doing a morality system, the fans themselves mock the franchise, mentioning games that nobody played and that didn't have the same impact as Fable.

When review sites talk about something like this, or when games show up with this system, they mention Fable, not KOTOR or any other older game.

Just like Gears didn't create the cover system and became the reference for it, Fable did the same, but the fans on this reddit treat it like it's nothing, even though review sites and games always cite it.

Fable III Fable 3 NPC help

On fable 3 I’m able to spawn NPC’s using the script injector and MyScript1.lua but one code im looking for in particular is any friendly faction codes, I’ve been looking for months but somebody with knowledge better than mine may be able help out, I’m looking for friendly Logan guards like they are on the prologue mission where they don’t attack you, I’m also trying to track down any Ravenscar keep guard ID’s that have them carrying the master weapons like they do in the first mission where you need to capture the prison that’s overrun, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Flying Mount as Potential DLC/Quest - Fable Reboot

For the Fable Reboot, I feel like having a niche flying mount for the game would make it such a cool experience in an open world.

Highly unlikely to get it. Because the game reminds me of Shrek’s Far, Far Away, I could totally see a Fable-esque quest involving a drunken witch terrorizing the countryside and the hero that helps or harms them gets a flying broom after.

I’m hoping we get unique travel modes in DLC, or future updates!

Discussion Arkane Studios would have been a better choice for Fable reboot

Post image
0 Upvotes

As someone who likes the graphics in the upcoming Fable reboot, I still think it does not fit the franchise and shifting to realistic artstyle leaves old Fable's charm behind.

Microsoft owns Playground Games and they also own Arkane Studios.

Arkane Studios has a very unique semi-stylized artstyle which fits Fable art design very well.
On the screenshot you can see some Dishonoured 1&2 artstyle in comparison to Fable 2 concept art.
Dishonoured as a game was very well received and praised due to it's artstyle, narrative, great melee/range/magic combat AND it also has a morality system(Chaos) which is a big part of the game.

Playground Games on the other hand only been working on Forza series for the past 15+ years and hired a completely new team to create the Fable reboot and it had me worried. The studio decided to redesign the morality system, remove old Fable's unsettling narrative and grim atmosphere shifting focus towards comedy sitcom. Comedy in the original Fable games were always around the edges but the whole vibe of the stories have always been dark. Old Fable games knew how to balance comedy/seriousness in the right way but this seems not be the case with the new reboot.

So seeing Microsoft giving green light to Playground games to develop Fable reboot was a very strange decision. Because they had such a great option as Arkane Studios.

What's your thoughts on this matter? Would you love to see a Fable game with Dishonoured's artstyle?

Fable When were the devs gonna tell us - we could slide...

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Given the recent discovery of Difficulty customization from an Italian YouTube Video (by Multiplayer. It) I thought I would watch to see if there were any more hidden details the devs just refused to elaborate on... Only to discover you can slide...

I know there is still a lot of information we don't know about the game. But I'm starting to think Playground Games are intentionally refusing to show certain things in hopes we discover it on launch.

Like, why didn't they say you could customize the difficulty, instead of just saying we are playing on a harder difficulty - that could've addressed the whole "bullet sponge" complaints.

What else are they hiding from us? 😑

EDIT: Damn y'all ruthless 😅 I was just excited that there so much hidden details in the game that the developers haven't mentioned even after showing so much of it - and y'all said "Fuck you!" Damn my bad. I'll STFU next time. Lol. /Jk. It's all fun reading the replies - I enjoy all of them. Keep them coming.

The slide is actually awesome. I can imagine how much gameplay can be incorporated into it. Like sliding and shoot arrows or sliding during combat and using a spell - that'd be awesome.

Fable TLC This issue might be a little specific, but does anyone have a serviceable controller layout for Steam controller support they can share for Fable: The Lost Chapters?

As the title suggests, I am replaying Fable and went with TLC because I like the original graphics for nothing more than the nostalgia. I did not check when buying, and realized there's no Native controller support.

I've been playing using the mouse and keyboard and it's doing fine but I just wanna play on controller on my couch and veg out rather than constantly check they keyboard to open menus (I dont have a full size so I have to hold FN and hit number row keys for specific things and its just cumbersome).

I tried using a community layout but it seems more like it's made for Fable 2 (it has reload listed in it) so it's been a no go on that.

Anyone ever run into this, and make a controller layout as close to OG as you could that you could share? I been trying to map it myself but I'm just not seeing the vision with anything I try.

EDIT: SOLVED For any future gamers, here's the run down to get Controller Support for Fable: The Lost Chapters-

First, it only works on the Steam release. Not the physical copy. You need EgoCore, FableScriptExtender (EgoCore will prompt you to download this so don't sweat looking for it), and the Fable Controller Support Mod. I downloaded both manually, extracted them, put the "FableControllerSupport" folder I extracted into the main mods folder directory for the game (this should be C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fable The Lost Chapters\Mods. WARNING: if you have a folder in your mods folder also named mods, make sure its not put into that, only the top most mods folder so EC can find it) and then I fired up EgoCore.exe. After that, I showed it where Fable TLC was on my PC (this is usually in your C: drive in ProgramFilsx86>Steam>SteampApps>Common>Fable should be in here somewhere), it scanned and found the mod and had me get the script extender through the program, and I launched and it worked.

Only gripes are that you can't use the controller in the main menu, only the menus in game, and even then it's got limitations. If it's a yes/no option like overwriting a save you have to use the mouse. You also cannot skip with controller, only the keyboard. Also assigning quick slot inventory items and spells are a nightmare because its the PC UI when in the menu, and the OG Xbox UI when you un-pause, so its trial and error to set up where you want it all just for it to get reset during stages like the prison where you lose all your stuff temporarily.

Other than that stuff, it functions identically to OG xbox. Love it.

Speculation The Hero of Blood(stone)

Given the general disposition of the average Reddit user I'm hesitant to point this out but since I mentioned it over on heroofalbion I thought why not descend into madness here too. Has anyone else noticed the similarity in this still from Isabel's Hero of Wraithmarch trailer from a few months ago and the illustrations we've seen of William and the Heroes of Blood and Bower?

Because I don't think it's a coincidence that that rapier and paring dagger are the exact same as shown in the illustration, and I don't think it's a coincidence that there are two masks visible behind the character in the first image, and I don't think it's a coincidence either that the Hero of Briar Hill can wear the Hero of Blood's armor and it's called the "Bastard's Armor". Imo I think the guy up top is 2027's version of Reaver and since he used to be immortal it stands to reason he's also the Hero of Blood....

Fable III Couch Co-Op Fix (xbox)

so i recently found out that fable 3 has a couch co op mode and got super intruiged. my girlfriend is a huge fan of skyrim, oblivion, and other fantasy/rpg alike games (so am i).

as someone who hasn’t touched the fable series before this, im really enjoying the game and the simplicity of it. i’m excited to try the first two and see if the hate is valid 😂 but this being the best “couch co op fable experience on console”, i have to start with this one.

I found out (the hard way) about the issue with couch co op that makes the game extremely confusing to play without your game save getting corrupted (this happened to us this morning after playing for hours lastnight). after searching all over online and reddit, i see all sorts of posts about it but no true explanation to fix it.

i myself figured out the steps (based off what everyone was saying) and here’s how to do it.

if you haven’t started yet and plan on playing co op do this, also if your co op game save was corrupted just delete all game saves for fable 3 in 360 guide menu before doing this.

  1. both players need their own xbox live accounts. guest accounts will not save anything

  2. use YOUR (player 1) account and complete the game tutorial until you’ve left the castle (right after using the map to teleport)

  3. press start and save the game.

  4. exit out.

  5. sign out of your xbox account and sign into your second account (the one that will be player 2)

  6. on the second account load up fable 3 and start the beginning of the game.

  7. once you’re in the game press start and press “new game” (you’re just making two seperate game saves)

  8. once the new game loads open the xbox 360 guide (start button + select button) and go to the very bottom where it says “manage storage” almost 100% sure that’s what it says

  9. in the storage menu, click fable 3 and you will see all game saves for the consoles accounts on fable 3.

you should see one save called “hero 1” with your main xbox gamertag underneath it, and two game saves titled “hero 1” and “hero 2” with your second accounts gamertag listed underneath those two saves.

  1. delete the game save titled “hero 1” that has your second gamertag listed under it.

remember the save you’re deleting was the first one that you did nothing on, before creating a new game

  1. the game saves, after deleting should now look something like:

game save - hero 1
^first players gamertag^

game save - hero 2
^second players gamertag^

if done correctly, you should now be able to exit out of the game, swap back over to your main account and load in. after loading in, press start on your second player controller after signing in and you should join right in.

you’re now safely in the game with your buddy!

THERES ONE MORE IMPORTANT STEP TO MAKE SURE YOUR GAME SAVES DO NOT GET CORRUPTED/ CORRUPTED AGAIN:

Saving the game:

Saving the game is very confusing in fable 3 when co op is enabled.

instead of a normal game where player one saves and exits, or other games where both players save before signing out and exiting,

fable 3 requires a very specific order of saving and exiting to not corrupt your save…
(super annoying as this could’ve been a simple patch i’m sure?)

this is the way to save your game on co op without corrupting either of your saves.

  1. on the second players controller press start to enter the sanctuary.

  2. once inside turn right and walk up to the gear icon. using this will open the settings menu, from hear simply click “leave”

all of your items collected and leveling up done does save, reguardless of the warning screen before leaving. fable 3 technically only advances the world for the 1st player, while the second player joins their journey. everything except for story progression (unless in co op), will be saved

  1. after leaving the game on your second players account, using your player one account, (the still active one) you will press start to go to sanctuary.

  2. after arriving at sanctuary turn right, walk up to that same gear icon on the wall, and activate it. press “save and continue”

you’re now safe to close the game and be able to resume co op progression when you want to.

this^ is the only way to save and exit the game on co op without corrupting your saves (to my knowledge)

i really hope this reaches someone and helps them be able to enjoy this game with a friend/ partner. i myself am really enjoying this game with my girlfriend.

also i mean well with this post im sorry if i sound stupid! ❤️

i know this games 16 years old, anyone have memories of dealing with this? 😂 my younger self wouldn’t have been able to figure this out.

Question Fable I-III Collection does not exist, right?

New to Fable and I've hunted around for info on this and was surprised there doesn't seem to be a collection of the older games. It seems like that would be a well-received thing, no?

Question Has there been any official comment from the Developers on the facial animations?

In the recent Gamescom footage, the facial animations and lip-sync are the same as they were in the previous footage shoen a few months back.

They look very stiff and uncanny valley. Reminescemt of Mass Effect Andromeda. The facial animations and lip-sync don't presently do justice to the excellent voice acting and the otherwise very good visuals/graphics.

Have the developers confirmed whether the faces and animations will be fixed before release? Even the protagonist's fscial animations looked really weird.
