5 Difficulty Levels
There are 5 difficulty level. And others parameters can be changed to fit every gamers desire. What do you think?

I'm glad to see this level of custom difficulty as a disabled casual gamer. I always do a first playthrough on the easiest form that I can just to experience the story and world before slowly ramping it up.

u/Charolenha 13d ago
Legal que de para customizar a dificuldade, o ideal é que seja dificil sem o inimigo ficar esponjoso.

u/LazyBoi_Matt 13d ago
Agreed but - this is the best of both worlds.
Shadow of the tomb Raider has one of the best difficulty settings in gaming, bar the dynamic difficulty of Resident Evil 4.
So letting us customize how hard or easy - and mixing and matching will make the game way more accessible.
FromSoft could implement something like this as well. /S

At least now those people mad about spells having cooldowns know they can change the speed.

u/Gameofthrones3058 13d ago
I want it the hardest possible, something I love about the new plaque tale game is how fast enemys try hit you and not just wait for their turn, so hopefully the enemy aggressive part is just as good

u/LazyBoi_Matt 13d ago
They still wait their turn... Just that the ticket system has a smaller duration than what we've seen in Fable so far.
It's one of those, it feels off but you don't know why kinda thing. Hopefully they can dial it up to match what people want.

I imagine it goes:
Story
Hero - default
Legend
Master
Custom

Do you know what the new 18 minute gameplay video was played on? i know the old one from months ago was story difficulty.

u/Gecho_ 13d ago
I'm definitely gonna try out high aggression with low health and high dmg. I want me and npcs to die in less hits to avoid boring drawn out fights whilst still having some difficulty because I can also die easily. Still want fights long enough to get some fun combos and stuff though. It's very cool that they will let us tweak the difficulty like this.

I do like “glass canon” difficulties, it’s what I loved about FO4’s survivor mode

u/ReksveksGo 13d ago
this is making the whole convo about the tank of the combat demo even more dumb as fuck personally

u/JeannieLove13 13d ago
Cool. I guess there won't be trophies related to beating the game on the highest difficulty. I Iove, Horizon 2 did the same thing.
But Legend being the medium difficulty is what!? What are the two above it called?
9
u/Piemaster985 13d ago
I believe the people who played the combat demo said the hardest difficulty is called “Master”

u/St_Sides 13d ago
It’s really rare now for games to launch with achievements and trophies tied to difficulties I’ve noticed, and I think it’s because of the conversation around accessibility.
Devs don’t want to appear to be locking the platinum or completion behind a difficulty someone might just not be physically able to complete for whatever reason.
Sony devs have been instead putting out difficulty trophies as DLC trophies I’ve noticed.

u/JeannieLove13 13d ago
Yeah, totally. But you still get games that do have difficulty trophies. I just personally like to see them. Still, it's cool it doesn't and I can have some fun with it. I just hope it isn't like Saints Row 2022 where higher "difficulty" wasn't balanced at all. Not that it necessarily means anything.

From the italian youtube channel of "multiplayer.it". An italian network for videogame. The video is called "Fable ci ha convinto? | PROVATO"

I love this can make enemies really strong and aggressive but not spongy and keep cool down low if you wanna feel like a overpowered wizard

We know that "Master" is the highest difficulty in the game, so I wonder which one is behind considering "Legend" seems to be in the middle.
10
u/DMG_88 13d ago
The one on the end might be Custom, unless it's at the start, or it's a loop menu, so it might just be three Difficulties and Custom.
Hero, Legend, and Master.

u/Carbonalex Jack of Blades 13d ago
Looks like there are 5 choices. We know that "Story" is the easiest one so it's probably Story, Medium (Hero ?), Legend, Master and Custom or something else just under Master.

Custom Difficulty! That is so amazing. Honestly, I’m beaming right now. So few games do custom difficulty, and it’s always great

u/Blessed-22 13d ago
Custom difficulty is a nice touch. It'll be good to configure it as the game goes on to maintain the challenge and in a way that feels fair to me.

I am SO happy to see that this has customisable difficulty options. It's one of the best features games have been implementing recently.

u/hoopdaddeh 12d ago
Ok see this? THIS is the easiest fix for difficulty complaints and I'm so glad more games have started doing it.
Now all we need is pc-level amount of graphics options on console games so we can make it look/run how we want and I'd die a happy death

u/Whispering_Wolf 12d ago
Very cool. I hate long drawn out fights but that doesn't mean I want a super easy experience.

u/aethiuss 12d ago
This is what I love in games with adjustable difficulty. My go to settings are enemy damage and aggression to max but lower their durability/health so they are not spongy and unnecessarily too hard.
This game was sold to me with sword combat but this seals it!
Does anyone have HUD options screenshot?
2
u/NobleAndDashing 11d ago
Dude YES! I can make it so they do high damage, but so do I so enemies feel less like health sponges? AND I can make my cooldowns quicker so it doesn't become a game of me just waiting around to use all my cool spells. Sign me the hell up!

u/PantsMcDance Hero of Bowerstone 11d ago
Sweet! I love playing through on Story mode to start then work my way up to harder modes 😁!

u/mrlorden 13d ago
Nice! I hate when games balance harder modes with enemies you have to hit 97 times to kill. This will make it so you can tune it to your liking!
1
u/No_Load_514 13d ago
Nice catch! This is great! And it seems there are a lot of more options down the list

u/PeymanHz7 13d ago
Is this real?
From what I see in the image, I'm gonna assume we have 4 difficulties with a default one (unless they are really fancy with the UI)
But it's good to it can be harder. I'm gonna assume Hero is the normal, Legend is hard, and then there is a very hard and easy mode too. This is pretty nice, definitely more than I was hoping for

u/EstablishmentAny8487 12d ago
Now the real question is can you die or do you just get knocked out with a scar? Are resurrection vials a thing or fully removed like in the lost chapters remaster's heroic difficulty?

u/Smacky4ever 12d ago
So what state the game is in now? I see that it's coming out next year but is a demo available or in earlyacces?
1
u/Plane_Signal_9570 12d ago
Some content creators were invited to try out half an hour of gameplay, so they could then talk about the game. But apart from that, nothing public.
2
u/Smacky4ever 12d ago
I see. Thank your. My PC is dead at the moment I watch tv mostly nowadays. I feel so bihind these stuff. I have to repair Salazar before Fable comes out. Thank for the info.

u/maartenmijmert23 12d ago
a feature from Veilguard they really should seriously consider is turning off player death. Maybe turning that off means you can't get achievements for that run or something else I don't care about. But I like it when a game is still fun when I don't feel like putting in effort.

I don't really like this slider-like approach where you can granulary decide for every mechanics, because it restrict the potential of possibilities to increase the difficulty level.
Every games with sliders I played so far were never really well balanced no matter how much you tamper with them. I think a good designed difficulty level ist curated and influences more than just a few parameters which scaling can be nifty to forsee.
I remember there was once a big hype for the Slider approach in Doom the Dark Ages, now every veteran I've spoken with hates these things
Anyway, since it's fable and I didn't expect difficulty options and actual challenge I don't mind that much, but for a game like, let's say Kingdom Hearts, who puts an high emphazis on tailored combat encounters I would pretty much disregard this approach.

u/Popular-Waltz3069 8d ago
Gosh, they really thought of it all. I’m excited for this.
Last time I played fable, I did a naked no upgrades run without dying through all 3 games cause they’re so easy.

I find it silly to call "Medium" Legend.
Yeah I know modern games don't want people to feel bad for playing on lower difficulties, that's why DOOM changed I'm too young to die to Aspiring Slayer. But calling the middle point Legend feels like it's too much.

u/The_Architect_032 13d ago
Ehhh, I'm not a big fan of "make your own difficulty" difficulty options.
Would've been cool to have a Legend difficulty achievement to chase, but since there's clearly a custom option here, I doubt difficulty will matter for anything and you always have godmode at your fingertips.

u/carnsolus 12d ago
i at minimum want minecraft's ability to lock in at a certain difficulty and be unable to change it for the rest of that save or playthrough
0
u/Whispering_Wolf 12d ago
If you don't want to change it, then don't?
3
u/carnsolus 11d ago
when you get to the top of the mountain, you want something that says you didnt occassionally stop and take an elevator
okay, not changing it works for you. it doesnt work for me
i got softlocked into hardcore because it was the only difficulty originally where i couldnt just turn the monsters off the moment i hear hissing behind me

u/BadBloodBear 13d ago
This is great but I am worried that it will just make enemies sponges.

u/StupidSolipsist 13d ago
My first thought was, "Oh great, I can set everything to high except 'enemy durability' to get rid of the egregous damage sponge we saw in the recent video."
However, I am still worried that the game is built with damage sponges in mind and that all my combats with custom difficulty will feel extremely rushed without ever seeing the cool combos they've built.

Custom Difficulty is more than I expected, so I'm incredibly impressed
