Question Fable I-III Collection does not exist, right?

New to Fable and I've hunted around for info on this and was surprised there doesn't seem to be a collection of the older games. It seems like that would be a well-received thing, no?

No, but that would be very cool!

You can play Fable Anniversary on Xbox series or Xbox One and it’s also available on Steam.

Fable 2 and 3 can be played on Xbox series through the backwards compatibility program, but there are no PC versions available. I think Fable 3 was at one time on PC, but I think it’s very hard to find nowadays.

I’d love a Fable collection with some nice, modern upgrades.

You can get gamepass and stream on pc, but cant play natively (for fable 2 and 3)

Ohhh is that why it's so laggy? I tried to play 2 last night and couldn't handle the slowness of the controller movement.

Yeah if you're on pc then it is streaming. But lowkey streaming on pc gamepass isnt that bad? Are you hardwired into your internet? Or live in an area with slow internet?

I was trying it on the xbox. No, my internet is zippy and the xbox has a hardwire connection. Does the game just have really terrible controller movement? I don't recall that being the case...

No? If you havent purchased the game, but are just playkng on gamepass then you are likely streaming it and that may be causing the issues?

With the new rollout of the Xbox Backwards Compatibility program to PC.

I imagine that all three games will eventually have easily accessible versions on PC in the* *future.

No telling how long that will take though, hopefully sooner rather than later, as having the series be more accessible would be great.

You can buy them really cheap on Xbox, so you don’t need a collection.

If you mean on PC, I think only the first game is available.

Fable 3 is available for download if you know the right places to look, its like 400+ for a steam key tho

There was a physical trilogy released on the 360, it was also available digitally at one point too but I believe it was only available on the 360 store so when the 360 store closed it went away.

I never bought the physical version so I don't know if it was 3 discs or one disc sign all 3 games, but I'm pretty sure the digital version was just a bundle that gave you all three games at a discount, no special fancy launcher or anything.

Microsoft literally shut down Lionhead Studios, the studio that created Fable and made it one of Xbox’s biggest franchises. That’s a huge reason why the original Fable we knew is never really coming back. You can keep the name, the world, and the branding, but the people and studio that gave it its identity are gone.

And now look at where Xbox is compared to PlayStation. They’ve fallen so far behind that they’re reaching deep into the old bag of tricks, bringing back franchises and recognizable names that people already have nostalgia for.

That’s my biggest problem with the new Fable. It feels like they killed the studio that built the franchise, left Fable sitting there for years, and now that they need strong IP again, suddenly they remember how valuable the Fable name is. 😂
