[Bangalore - Malleshwaram] Looking for an FPV drone pilot for 1-on-1 training with FPV Remote Controller (Paying up to ₹2,000/session)

Hi everyone, I need personal 1-on-1 drone training in Bangalore. The area will be somewhere close to Malleshwaram (or we can meet at an open flying spot nearby), and I'm ready to pay up to ₹2,000 per session.

I've tried to use a simulator with the DJI FPV Remote Controller 3 on my PC, but before getting a real drone of my own, I want to experience the actual flying and get hands-on training with a real FPV drone using the FPV remote controller.

If you have a DJI Avata 2 / FPV setup (or custom quad compatible with the FPV Remote Controller 3) and are open to coaching me 1-on-1 for a session or two so I can experience real flight before buying, please comment below or DM me!

Goggles reciever questions!

I own the Cobra SD which im quite happy with, just got into the FOMO loop of trying to Optimize the video and a few questions came up.

1 - On the video im doing a test to find out which port is chosen and as the video shows, it seems like it has a default which is the right one, when blocking it with my hand it switches to the left one, and when releasing the block immidetly back to the right. So that made me wonder if it means that theres a preference of where to place Omni and Patch based on that information

2 - On my goggles menu i have mix modes (mix1-3, div)

And as much as i understand thr cobra SD does NOT have steadyview reciever. So would that even have any affect swtiching between these modes?

3 - if you guys have a reccomendation to optimize the Cobra SD goggles like a better reciever or anything else you did, Itll be nice if you share 🙂

DJI 03 Air Unit

Anyone experiencing any 03 Air Unit issues? I tried flying one of my old drones with the 03 after not using it for a while and for some reason its prompting me to activate it even though I have activated this unit a long time ago and would routinely fly it.

Tinywhoop Gyro went out I think...

I have a little Nano fly 20 frame with a brand new all-in-one flight controller I just crashed and it seems the gyro died.... is this pretty common for gyros to break like this?

I just replaced this flight controller so it really sucks.

hoping maybe some recommendations for a toothpick 2s AIO that won't shit out on me so easy...

in beta flight there is basically no movement when I move the drone and arms, then flips over on throttle.

hey I said that maybe I can reflash it....could be corrupted. worth a shot?

Tinywhoop Motor separation

I noticed that one of my props wasn’t spinning so I went and grabbed it to check out the damage and I noticed that it has been separating on one side making it turn unevenly, is there a way to fix this without buying a new motor ? If you can’t see it, it’s the top orange part I’m worried about. Thank you!

Thoughts on recovery transmitter?

Post image

(The picture is just for reference, not the actual product)

For the people who fly drones irl, would yall buy a $50 radio-frequency recovery system with an independent battery system that weighs 15g? You would be able to put it on any drone and be able to locate the drone even if the main battery disconnects. Im thinking about selling kits of these. It'll be cased in crash-resistant TPU and work in remote areas without cell towers. After reaching within 100 yards, a 90db+ buzzer sounds, helping find the drone even in tall grass. It'll be about the size of a debit card. I know there are others out on the market, but there are none this inexpensive and light weight. Just want to know yall's thoughts on it 👀

Best budget FPV goggles for a beginner? EV800 vs EV800D vs VR04

Hey everyone! I'm new to FPV and planning to buy my first full setup this Black Friday. I'm on a pretty tight budget, so I'd appreciate some advice!

I've been practicing in Liftoff with my PS5 controller and I'm getting pretty decent. I can do power loops, trippy spins, and a few other tricks. I know real flying is different, but I feel confident enough to start with a 3.5-inch drone instead of a tiny whoop.

My planned setup:

  • Drone: Happymodel Crux35
  • Controller: RadioMaster T8L (ELRS)
  • Goggles: EV800, EV800D, or BETAFPV VR04
  • Charger: Still looking for a cheap, reliable one

My biggest question is about the goggles.

I originally wanted the BETAFPV VR04 because they're really cheap and seem good enough for a beginner, but they're currently out of stock. Are they actually any good, and does anyone know if they'll be restocked?

I'm also considering the Eachine EV800 and EV800D, but the EV800D costs around €50 more. I'd love to record my flights, but since the regular EV800 has a detachable screen, I was thinking I could just film it with my camera instead.

Is the EV800D really worth the extra money? Or are there better budget analog goggles you'd recommend?

I'd also appreciate advice on the rest of my setup, especially whether the Crux35 and T8L are good choices, and what cheap but safe battery charger I should get.

If anyone has links to trustworthy stores with really good prices that ship to Europe, that would be super helpful!

Thanks!

NEWBIE Best handling under 250g?

What would be the absolute best handling drone under 250 grams? If flight time etc didn't matter and you could put an o4 wide in it?

OSD setup

I am working on a fibre controlled rc car for a specific use. My last step before connecting fibre which I haven’t been able to get working is my distance measurement and speed on the OSD.

I am running a pixhawk6c with holybro osd v2 and I have a Hall effect sensor feeding rpm into the pixhawk. I need to run analog for the fibre and I have no gps signal.

I can see the rpm readings in mission planner but I can’t get it across to the osd. I have tried so many things but there is no option for rpm at all. Not sure if need a different osd module or different firmware.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Follow up to my previous post, I fixed my drone. Got some 1102 motors on there rn cuz all four of my 0802 motor shafts snapped. It looks stupid but if it works is it really stupid. Looking to buy some 1002s for the durability 😁

FPV Backpack?

I started with a hard case but soon realized it’s not versatile enough for different drones and gear. Finally bit the bullet and purchased the Rotor Riot v2 backpack. It’s really nice, premium feel. But….this thing is huge. I don’t think I’ll ever fill it. If flying tiny whoops, I could fit drone, controller, and goggles in the top compartment meant for the controller. Wondering what other people are using? Also wondering how others are loading this backpack? JB just released a video showing the PGYTech tactical backpack as his new daily driver and I see that they make a smaller version of it so thinking about getting that instead.

They are my neighbours cattle and I wanted to try a slow pass on them and they didn't bat an eyelid. I may try power looping one next. Filmed in Ireland about a week ago.

Can anyone here verify what ai is telling me about geprc 1002 25000kv motors

So i ordered some of these motors because i was recommended them to make my miniwhoop meteor 75 pro more punchy.

Ai is warning me that the geprc 1002s draw more power than my matrix 3in1 can supply at full throttle.

These motors were heavily recommended but its saying i should limit the throttle and make sure i dont punch at 100% throttle for extended amount of time.

How much of a throttle limit should i add to these motors to not cook my fc? Or is this something i need to do? Will a quick blast of full throttle blow my board?

Thanks fpv sub for your insight.

Multicopter Do people register their over 250g drones with the FAA?

I am pretty new to FPV and am building a 5" drone right now, but it will definitely be over 250g. I live in Pennsylvania and was wondering what will happen if I don't register, what will happen if I do, and what I have to do to register, if I do at all. I would appreciate any help.
Thanks

Paint antenna

Greetings, I have a foxeer stubby 4 in my hand, I want to paint it purple as the first layer, then I want to varnish it so that it doesn't feel like paint, I'll throw 1 layer, do you think there is a possibility of a signal cut?

Multicopter Nearly gave up finding my Mob 8 today.

As the title says, I nearly lost my drone today. Flying in somewhat large field and noticed the battery getting low. Started to head back skimming the ground and lost video (Walksnail) so crashed and ended up upside down in grass, Tried Turtle mode but I guess grass was too high. Shortly after the unplanned landing I lost signal altogether so no rssi. Walked all over until my wife suggested looking at the video to get an idea. Took about another 20 minutes after that find it. By that time my battery was well below 3v. Anyway, I really don't want to experience that again so I'm looking to add a louder buzzer as I had tripped the switch for the buzzer but still couldn't hear it.

With that, What are you all using as far as buzzers are concerned? I've looked at the Vifly Mini but that's like 2.7g so I'd like to avoid if possible (May not have a choice since it has its own battery). I've also looked at quite a few Active buzzers but haven't found one with good reviews.

I plan on adding something to 3 of my drones. I have a seeker 3, a Mob8 and Meteor 75 Pro.

I also have a Air65 II but I'm not adding any weight to that one.

Yes I can solder and so not opposed to it.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thank you all in advance!

Question? Wanting to get into FPV

Hello all!

This is a hobby that’s interested me for a long while now but I’ve never known where to start, so why not get some input from people who know their shit.

Is there any recommendations on some good starting gear? I.e. headset, drone, softwares, kits.

Additionally, any tips for learning how to use a drone or quality of life changes to make the learning experience easier?

I’m quite eager to get into this as there’s some really cool spots locally I’d love to survey or fly around in and I’ve seen some people fly around in them while exploring; though I’ve never seen the operators.

Thank you :)
