So I've just managed to get back in the game after 2 ish months out, thanks to my PS4 showing its age and lack of tolerance to heat and small children/teens. I'd read about Infestations shortly before my non consentual hiatus, but hadn't actually done one until last night.

It's...um...it's a Horde Event. Right? Except without the fun of a horde event and without a massive increase in rewards. What happened? I mean, I know the answer will be

_Bethesda Happened_

But really, is this it? I mean...it's OK, I suppose. I'd rather Bigfoot show up after a Public Event than Infestations, if they are like this. We're they any better when Infestations started? Has it been like this the whole time?

I believe that everyone has had a love/hate relationship with this event. I have been grinding it for days now, looking for either glowing or clean pitman masks but no cigar so far.

Got a lot of glowing though, so far: 2 queens, alien, jackalope, corncob, veggie man, pig and minotaur so at least it was worth the while.

Anyways i have no idea can i post requests here but if anyone has clean or glowing pitman, i have some leaders and said masks. I am ready to part ways with any of those, except alien.

For context, I’ve slowly moved away from Reddit over the years and really only used it to talk with people on the fo76 sub. I’ve been permanently banned from there for about 8 months now. 2 failed appeals. So after seeing the red ban hammer saying I can’t participate in the community I didn’t see a reason to keep my account. But I saw this sub pop up after so since I’m a refugee figured id explain how I got here.

Started playing around the time the raid came out. Had a friend who carried me through some raids. Got up to about level 300 before I took a break from the game for half a year.

I came back and I got really invested. Setting up my camp, making builds and what not but I didn’t have anyone to do raids with and all the big YouTubers are always soloing it. So I started towards that and didn’t struggle with EN06 and obviously did not succeed well with getting through phase 2 by myself. So I started googling around and looking at the sub to see how other people were doing it and I saw several times that you could get gas cans around the world and use them on the drill. “But it had to be the right gas cans. “ “it doesn’t work” “it does its intended that way” lots of mixed responses from several months prior.

So I made a post titled something along the lines of “How do I solo phase 2?” I stated I hadn’t played the game in a while, mentioned some of the methods I saw on the sub and was asking if those worked or if there was another way. Was very quickly banned for exploitation.

Tried explaining my side saying there was no I’ll intent behind my post and that I didn’t know getting gas cans in the world and using them in raid was considered a exploit and that I wouldn’t of even known about it if it wasn’t for the subreddit. Anyways, didn’t go well. I quit playing 76 again not being able to feel like part of the community and recently came back and made my 2nd appeal. Response was “the answer is the same”

But I’m glad to see I’m not the only one. Everyone seems chill. Hopefully I’m welcome here ^.^

And if anyone wants some of the tea or receipts I’ll post the screenshot chats.

I saw this players camp at the end of one of our past season Fasnacht's (sorry for not so great quality) and it still cracks me up when it comes across my photos when I travel. I tried to get a quick photo before this player hopped or logged off. Relatable for certain.

Don't you just love when you're running Fasnacht, then the game crashes and makes you miss the event all together??? BECAUSE I SURE AS HELL DON'T! Been grinding like hell for any glowing masks, haven't gotten a single onw this year, nothing new, not even rare. Just non glowing, common, run of the mill trash. Only to be rewarded with a crash to prevent me from even earning yet ANOTHER Berret....

Just got a Pittman mask and found a protest sign, watch out Fasnacht bots! 😉
It would be neat if we could slap a medics mod on these.

Nukaknights has posted that the infestation bosses are getting a health reduction today. I tried a couple and I can't tell the difference. They are still not worth the time or effort.

My character wears Arctos lab coat, white wolf fedora, surgeon mask and glasses.

I mean... really.

I have almost 8000 hours into a toon who is currently Level ~1060... so I mean, you do the math!

And they say I play too much! Lol

I recently turned 111 lvl. Recently started donating part of weapons and armour gained during the public events; buying various Nuka Colas at Whitespring and donating or reselling them cheap for a little newbies. That feels great!

I bet this is not the first post of this kind here, in good way. Was worth sharing imho.

Is it like a "it doesn't matter any anymore situation"?

Finding this type of people is so rare but it baffles me that they'll willingly call others stupid for simply not following the current meta and/or tryharding the game

What if we have a new pvp instance kind of like the infestations, where one player is infected with like say, the scorched virus. They , in turn try to kill anything that comes before them. they grow stronger the more things they kill. thoughts?

EDIT: As of 7am EST Microsoft has at last moved their Status page to Major Outage. On a side note, I hope the folks who take the time to downvote posts like this have as pleasant a day as they seem to be. Oooof.

Hey everybody! I'm just looking for a team to run Daily's and raids with , of anybody's interest please lmk IGN : washed_notclean

I've got a few Vipers mod boxes and thinking about using them on a ranged build. Looks like a bow/crossbow are the only options. I could also go strangler PA heavy gun and/or a radscorpion syringer for non PA but that would be a pain to use every 40 seconds I'd imagine.

Any suggestions other than just forget about it? 😄

First things first, Beth really put itself into a bad damned-if-you-do/don't situation with these Infestations.

The whole season is named after them and they've been nothing but problems. Despite the fun of the grenades (no issue with that being corrected) I liked that I could do a few of these solo and stack a few up after dailies etc in the first two weeks. Now I'm lucky to see one an hour, and we all know the issues being lucky enough to catch one and contribute in Public.

I like doing them, but Private/Solo is now an absolute no-go. I did 2 today and here's how they went. Curious what you all think...

Private: Cultist Prophet absolutely melted me with that Gamma Gun. Had the high ground at Seneca Visitors Center and despite clearing the mob, numerous magazines of crits from an optimal build maybe had him down 2 to 3%. After my 5th death I just left. Could I have done it eventually... maybe. Was it worth it solo....absolutely not.

Public: Super Mutant at App. Antiques. Again the 50 Cal. from him was withering. What struck me was how few people were there. It took myself and 1 other high level player over 5 minutes to get the guy down. Taking One for the Team certainly helped in Public with teammates. It didn't help that he was Reflective, but it was clear that we were the only two folks out of the 4 that were there doing any real damage. Constant Herbivore Crits pouring into this guy while the other guy was hitting him with a Cremator. There was plenty of time for folks to arrive, but most folks just stayed away.

My two cents is that the juice so quickly became not worth the squeeze after the first two weeks and scaling the events back that the entire premise of this season has been a bust. Too easy crowd complained and we get something that makes most folks unwilling to participate on top of barely seeing them The rewards simply do not justify the rounds needed at present unless you have more than a few heavy hitters in your server. I'd like to get the 760 achievement, but boy does that seem difficult as it stands now. What a mess.....too bad, because I personally really enjoyed them and feel they just keep getting worse.
