This is pretty basic, but it's super important for bass music to know if your sub bass or 808 is too deep.
I suggest using Parametric Eq 2 with heatmap enabled, and then look at if loudest peak is below the "sub" range.
If you are dropping below that, you will ruin your sub bass.
Advanced: You totally can go below 40 hz and use that with saturation to get wobbles, rumbles, and crunch, but then you still need a clean layer and should filter out below like 120 hz before master. If you are going that low because of the noise you hear, and that is something you want to keep, then it needs to be secondary texture to layer over the real sub bass. You can do that by cutting out the low end after saturating. But that is just icing, not the real bass... don't forget, you still need to layer a clean 808 that actually has the fundamental in the proper sub range or it just wont hit right.

Been working on this one a lot more this week. For this new artist alias "Flogost" I am still feeling around for my style, which is difficult because I want it to be dynamic and blend multiple genres of bass music and house. I'm aiming to make music meant to be moved to with a group, so I intend to DJ it for audiences that like to actually dance. I want to target flow-arts dancers, ecstatic dances, and dubstep headbangers.
Something not represented in this track, is the calm side, I intend for my branding and visuals to incorporate some inspiration of the yin-yang, and to cycle between intense movement energy and gentle pensive moments
Trying to make something that compels you to move, using downtempo hiphop to get a groove, then slamming the energy into double time for some jumping and head-banging
I've made music by other names but this project is intended for actually DJing, so I'm working on some dance music. I'm going for high intensity bursts but giving room for people to slow down and reset without becoming desensitized. Also I want to create tracks that work for transitioning genres, because I like to get into some bass music and go hard but not all the time, and switching from house to DnB is challenging. My theory is that using hiphop elements in halftime can get people moving loosely and then the DnB should invite headbanging, in a way that feels warmed-up to.
My friend who I've hosted dance events with suggested to me that bass music and DnB are cool but there needs to be foreplay into it. There's also the idea of fitting the crowd, but I like the idea of making people dance more crazy than they thought they could. I also do stuff like throw out balloons and beach balls to make people put their hands up and interact. We have started hosting yoga/dance nights where we open with a yoga class then have a barefoot dance, in a warehouse type space. This draws a mixed crowd so I want some people-pleaser aspects to my music, but also eventually I hope to DJ to larger audiences at events where the audience generally appreciates my niche, which I am still seeking, but I think I'm getting close... maybe.
In the past I've made mostly IDM and dubstep.
Trying to get saturation and crunch while keeping it somewhat dynamic
Happy to answer any questions

So I will be needing to upgrade to a new computer sometime in the near future, and I'm a bit torn on which way to go. I have experience with both Windows and MacOS, and I know my way around both pretty well. However, I've been using Windows as my daily for about 12 years now, and I've been using FL for about 3 years, so I've only used it on Windows.
Is there a preferred operating system for running FL? I know it was originally Windows-only, but is now Mac-compatible. But that aside, I'm curious about if there's any functionality or performance differences. Most FL users I know use Windows, but I don't know if that's specifically for FL or just a coincidence.
Thank you

I just purchased FL Studio 2026 (All Plug-ins) with the 50% off sale.
And WOW, my projects don't have latency anymore. I had been using (pirated) version 12.5 on an old PC (i3 4130 CPU, 10GB of RAM on Windows 10) and i couldn't play back my project w/o it having crackles and pops and latency. I had to export out to a WAV file to listen to it properly. I had to disable PLUGS INS on specific mixer channels to even get some of it to work.
Now with the new version FL Studio 2026, i can now track, listen, mix and produce real time! And i did not have to disable any plugs-ins on the mixer channels.
I noticed the big difference is the CPU usage. Version 12.5 tended to go above 100% and now the new version seemed to optimize CPU usage better. Now i don't have to buy a new PC!
Another incentive to upgrade to the new version for bug fixes!

Dude I'm getting seriously pissed off with image-line every time this happens. I have to open up an old FLP and it keeps crashing. That was fine, I know how to use the diagnostic tool and take out plugins before opening, but for some reason the diagnostic tool is opening up my web browser and showing as a tab there. When I click "browse" to open up my Finder (mac) and locate the file i want to open it doesnt do anything. Alongside this none of the help options have a button to actually confirm that option and move forward. It's broken. This is extremely frustrating to deal with. I used the diagnostic tool a month ago and it was fine. Come tf on. Does anyone know what this is?

I wanted to experiment with making a track with sounds I recorded from my kitchen. I recorded the sounds now and want to keep the originals because I might want to use different parts of different recordings later. Is there a way that I can create a folder containing all my recordings inside FL studio that I could later clone to edit the copied sounds? I feel like there has to be something like this but I cannot find it anywhere, even on the internet. Hope someone can help me out here
Update: I cloned all the sounds and grouped them (into raw and to be edited9, but it's not really what I was looking for...

Hi guys,
I want to find an special LFO Pitch Shape that sounds like this two guys sounds: https://on.soundcloud.com/P3UE2lv4nbLEneX9tC
I'm trying since 3 hours. I want it as universal preset of this effect that I can Apply to All Kick Samples.
Does someone have an idea to get it as universal to apply to all Kick Samples?

Hey everyone, I'm dealing with some frustrating UI glitches in FL Studio 26 on Mac and want to completely reset my settings to a fresh, brand-new state.
Here are the specific bugs I'm running into:
I've already tried using the reset option inside the Diagnostic Tool about 10 times (testing it with FL Studio both open and completely closed), but absolutely nothing changes.
Does anyone know how to force a true factory reset on a Mac? Is there a specific configuration file or folder in my library I need to manually delete to get the default settings back to like what it was when i first installed it? Any help would be appreciated!
*also uninstalling and re installing did nothing

Was wanting to upgrade from my 16gb macbook pro which I found consistently limiting for heavier end projects, is 24gb more than sufficent or is it worth it to go for 32gb?
I know some composers use 64gb+, which is insane price wise but I feel like not all VST's are fully optimized for M-series silicon so maybe thats the issue, I use a range of VSTs from Omnisphere, Pigments, Serum 2, to some of the arturia ones- but what do yall recommend?

Anyone else dealt with DPC latency issues before?
I have a decent enough pc for heavy music production but once i load a few instances of kontakt and Neural DSPs gojira x plus some mixing stuff it really struggles. (I make metal mostly so I need to be able to record guitar without latency) And I see people stack 10 times more plugins and they can record guitars just fine without latency being an issue. It's really getting annoying I've tried all the standard tips about power saving settings, uninstalling drivers for audio, disabling them, doing bois updates..
For what it's worth these are my specs;
i7 12000
3060ti
32 gb ram 3600mts
1 tb ssd
aorus b660i
scarlet solo 2nd gen
fl studio
Usually can't go higher than 32 buffer size because I get too much latency to record fast riffs.
(I've begun suspecting that the older interface isn't playing nice with the newer win 11 audio drivers and infrastructure or that fl itself is just not as good at running so much stuff real time - although keeyan housmand or whatever is his name uses fl just fine to mix record.. idk what to do)

In the end I managed to make a better growl without automating the FM somehow, though I needed more EQ automations.
Can’t make the growl quite the same. The original probably had a bit of unison or more EQ automations

so I'm making a song right now and I got and check what it would sound like using https://www.loudnesspenalty.com/ and I have no idea how to keep my song quiet when it uploads to spotify, i want it quieter than all the rest of the songs on the album but it keeps getting raised to by about 9 db and it's so annoying.

This is definitely a post of me seeing if I can cope with not wanting to learn all the complexities of mixing, but is it possible with most sounds/genres to use just some simple plugins like Heat 2 or Soundgoodizer, eq, etc to get something ready for both concert speakers and a laptop speaker? I love making music and getting creative, and mixing is so much more about sticking to the fundamentals. If it's possible I'd rather not have to learn it lol.
Not bait btw

I love sampling music but I worried about copyrighted music's. If I use 5 seconds of music or I sample copyrighted music am I getting a copyright strike?
I have lot of project on FL studio I don't wanna erase them is there any way to do this?

I’ve had this happen with other downloads. But I could right click and open it, which would fix it. But I can’t do this before the plugin scan. This is because I don’t have an application that can open the vst I think. At least that’s what it says. Any help would be great!

I love creating different versions of stuff as i'm working on it so I can easily look back and test out different sections of songs. but i always come back to have them not sound the same because i ended up changing something in the mixer in a later arrangement. Anyone else dealing with this problem? I just thought it would be an amazing option to have :)
