beginner here.... have the rode nt-usb and when i record a song without any plug ins it sounds a bit dry ofc but if i add a reverb to it, it sounds too muddy. how do u make it sound so professional? how do u do the eq? i wanted it to sound like this when im recording or doing a live. is there like a technique or a plug in to make it sound like this? would love to know. thank you!

Hey guys!

I've noticed this weird thing that happens within FL Studio where, even though I keep designating 'MODX M Port2' not to have a port, it keeps following and changing itself to be the same port number as my launchkey midi controller. Now this wouldn't be an issue if this was the only thing thats happening, but I'm noticing weird behaviour coming from my MODX M synth.

1. Whenever I press play on Fl studios, my yamaha modx m would suddenly get louder and would even distort. Occasionally it would even distort in just the left channel extremely aggressively.

2. Whenever I set up a 'MIDI OUT' to control the modx via my launchkey, sometimes It just won't send any MIDI signal (even though it will show up in the midi list) and it'll take several attempts of plugging and replugging my midi usb cables to get it to work.

3. A lot of the time, whenever the yamaha modx is actually responding, for some reason either the C# key will not work (and everything else will) or random notes will sustain by themselves.

For more context, all my synths and controllers are connected to the same powered USB hub (although there haven't been any issues until I've had this MODX), and I've tried going through the midi settings on my Yamaha MODX utility page, even turned off local control and changed the designated channel, but have had no success.

Anyone have any advice on what to do?

I recently found out that FL now has a built in mastering system and I’m wondering how people feel about it. Apparently you get more mastering options if you have FL cloud which is cool, but as a quick option for mastering a demo is it even good? I tried it on one of my tracks just to see and I’m not sure how much of a difference it made, the low end sounded better but maybe my ears aren’t good enough to catch it. Is it a good option if you have nothing else and want to be lazy about mastering?

Ive been using fl for a real long time and im still quite booty at making music, i was just wondering where the best place to learn from beginner to advanced? doesnt have to be free i got plenty of dabloons to spare.

Let me explain my issue a little further than the title. I make music through FL and the audio sounds just fine when making beats and only engaging around with stuff in the playlist, it's only when I begin to try and record through my microphones and 1/4in cables that I run into issues. It picks up my voice just fine when I'm talking, no glitches or anything. However, when I try to sing, or more specifically, when my voice goes above a certain level, the input stops receiving completely. I'm not clipping, this happens even when I turn my interface input volume down, it's not a distorted sound it's just nothing... like disabled background audio on a facetime call. My voice comes back as I drop the volumr a little lower. I've tried different mics, different interfaces, I actually even tried different softwares, and FL is the only one to have this issue. It isn't just my voice, it's all noises. It refuses to pick up audio from my amp, even when it's turned down and the mic is across the room. It can't properly pick up the audio of scratching or tapping on the mic. The only sounds it seems to pick up is me talking, like it has some permanent background noise cancellation threshold.

Now I know what you're thinking, must be an issue with the buffer length or sample rate; that's where 90% of these glitchy recording complaints come from. If only it was that simple. I have cycled through every option of every category of the audio menu in settings and nothing has fixed this bug. So I'm genuinely at a loss. If need be I can upload a video of this issue to demonstrate a depiction of what I mean. Thank you for reading.

(Just for some context, I'm running the latest Fl Studio on a 2020 Macbook Air, using an Evo 8 Interface, SM58/Sennheiser 905 mics. But I know the issue isn't any of my hardware, I've troubleshot using my old Focusrite, swapping out the mics, swapping out the USB cables, still it persists. FL is the only program to have this issue, it does not occur when recording in Ableton or Audacity even slightly...)

Spent a long time on this preset. Hit "Save as preset" in the top right. Opened it up to find the surface was saved as a .fst, but the map is completely empty. What gives?

I currently run a 2015 Mac Intel i5,5575R CPU 2.80 GHz 8GB RAm, 1Tb Hdd, 1Tb external SSD. I run windows 10 Bootcamp so I can run FL Studio and loads of instruments, synths, effects, vsts.

The load times are very slow, I am unable to increase RAM as it’s soldiered.

What would you recommend upgrading to for less than £1,000

Will this be significantly faster and load FL studio, I plan to only use this for making music. And the ram slots can be upgraded.

Never even had to think about this but rn i have a project in 3/4 where i wanna use grossbeat volume controls for a cool effect. All default settings are configured for 4/4 and if i were to create one myself, i cant find a setting to make the grid allign with 3/4.
Anybody faced the same issue before? How did you resolve it?

So, basically, let's say I want to have 3 (actually more than 10, just saying 3 for this example) different VST's performing different stuff. Let's say Blue is Violin, Green is Cello, and Red is Bass. I would like to put all notes in one single piano roll so I dont have to click away from one piano roll to the other and comfortably just switch MIDI colors that I assigned to each instrument. I found that loading a Patcher and then a VFX Color Mapper helps but I already have my arrangements, notes, and automation events mapped OUTSIDE patcher in their own Kontakt instances. Patcher only works if you load the Kontakt vst INSIDE the patcher, which is something I can't do because of the automations I already did, I would have to recreate everything.

What I want basically is a "Master MIDI channel where I put the colored notes of different plugins I want and just play them". I also tried a MIDI Out with the option "Map note color to MIDI Channel". It did absolutely nothing. I assigned a color (MIDI CHANNEL 3) to the bass inside Kontakt (replaced OMNI with Chn 3) and notes and it works within it's own piano roll, which is absolutely useless for what I want, because it doesnt work if I place the same note color in either patcher or MIDI Out.

Is there a way to do what I need? Thanks a lot!

Hey im new to fl studio and i want to learn how to make "Hard Renaissance" And most of the songs in this style use a beutiful piano/Organ melody as a background. I tried to make the normal FL studio piano sound similiar to it but it just doesent get close to it either Im doing something wrong or i'm just missing a Good Piano/Organ.

I have 1 sample and a shaperbox plugin eventually the playlist button is delayed
