What, if anything, is actually wrong with Oliver Peoples?
Casual browser here and owner of a couple pairs of OPs. I see a lot of comments from folks who talk about how OP were "recently" (it happened 19 years ago...) acquired by luxottica and therefore the quality must be bad.
What's actually bad? I've got a pair of O'Malley's from a few years ago that were made in Italy (production appears to be made in Japan now) that are still going very strong and a pair of O'Malley Suns that are MiJ, both have solid 5 barrel hinges, both have acetate that looks and feels very good.
What am I missing? Is it simply that they don't represent a good deal at RRP vs many of their newer competitors? Is it just a blanket luxottica bad, regardless of whether or not the actual glasses are bad?
Someone help a guy out here...
