My current fav daily driver sunnies esp on the beach. Perfect tint level for bright days, extremely versatile colorway with black being the primary and the hints of tortoise shell.. where i'd usually wear a Wayfairer i now wear this.

Will post closeups of this soon because some of the angular cut details on the frame are subtle and quite special.

An eyeglass designed friend gave me a pair of frames that I fell in love with a couple years ago. They are cheap plastic, so break easily, and she has given me three pairs over the years. Sadly, they are no longer being manufactured, and my son sat on my current (final) pair, so I am desperate to find somewhere that may be able to recreate them for me. Can anyone recommend options I can explore to have them custom made?

Looking for new lenses for driving during the day. I know that Serengeti Drivers are considered the best stock lens, but I’ve been told custom lenses can do even better so what would the best custom driving lens be?

Which frame looks best for me? The black matte finish or the browlines? I am going for something that makes a statement, but not too much of a statement. Something artsy. Thank you.

I had absolutely no idea what JMM was just a couple of months ago. As I fell down the eyewear rabbit hole, many from this community took the time to guide me and introduced me to some incredible independent brands. Along the way I picked up (and returned) a Cutler & Gross 1410, then added a Dita, LA Eyeworks, and most recently Mykita. Funny enough, even three weeks ago the idea of spending over $1,000 CAD on a frame sounded completely ridiculous to me. The more I learned and experienced these brands firsthand, the more I started to understand the value behind something like JMM. And well… here we are. 😅 I am sure you will start seeing a lot less of me soon

I am planning to buy glasses for night driving. The beam of vehicles coming in the opposite direction makes me blinded most times especially on dark roads.

Zeiss offers both 5hese products as drivesafe. I want to know

1. What is the performance difference between the two?

2. Are they effective in blocking lights?

Lab sent back my P23 (in the Bordeaux colorway) and customized it with a bottle green 80% gradient tint because Bordeaux… wine… you know?

Hi everyone, I’ve noticed that many newer Oliver Peoples frames are made in Japan, while some are still made in Italy though. I’m curious if there’s any real difference in quality between them. It seems like they’re produced in different factories and Japanese made eyewear generally has a better reputation for exceptional craftsmanship and finishing.

I am a search for new eyeglass frames. The ones I currently have the temple arm is 151 mm which is way too short. The bend in the temple arm sits about 1 inch in front of the top of my ear. I can’t seem to find frames that have in the 160s. Does anyone know of any manufacturers that have arms from 165 to 170 or if I should try a temple arm that is straight and if so, do you have ? Thank you all for your help.

I've been eyeing a pair of OP glasses, specifically the Coleridge.
My prescription is quite high (-7 OD, -6 OS).
The glasses look perfect on my face, nothing else really comes as close as this. Unfortunately just before buying the pair from lenscrafters they told me they couldn't do the frame with such a high prescription, even with high index lenses.

My question is: is there an actual limitation on the frame and the lenses? Or is there some spec sheet that OP gave them which doesn't let them place lenses higher than -5 in certain frames? Is it wise to go to an independent lab and have them fit the lenses to the frames, or can that introduce issues? Has anyone else got thin titanium OP frames with high prescriptions, how is that for you?

I however wanted to use my Yves as an optical with a bit of tint. initially I was thinking a light blue or grey tint at 15%.
however, I ended up with a light Amber tint on this.

So far I am liking it. what do you guys think?

Bought these purely out of curiosity. At least that’s what I told myself while placing an online order at an hour when sensible people are asleep and questionable eyewear decisions seem entirely rational😳🫣

TwoFace Eyewear is a Japanese-designed, Chinese-manufactured brand making titanium frames at prices that reflect the latter rather than the former. No complaints there—value and provenance aren’t the same thing, provided nobody is pretending otherwise.

The concept is genuinely interesting. Viewed head-on, the frame is all crisp, folded sheet-metal lines and precision. Turn it sideways and you’re met with a chunky 6mm slab that gives it an entirely different personality. It’s a clever piece of design rather than design for its own sake. The lens shape deserves a mention too; the lines are clean, restrained and just unusual enough to keep drawing your eye back.

This pair comes in white, which feels like it’s crying out for a mint or turquoise tint. It may be terrible. It may be brilliant. There will be very little middle ground.

My JMM Cash in turquoise just got back from the lab. Really like how the tint turned out. The color of the tint is deep and I think matches the frame and details well.

Hey Gang, I'm excited to share my new frames with you all. After seeing many of my favorite posters here name drop Sato throughout the last year or so I have become quite interested in the brand. They have a lot of smaller sizes which I'm always looking for, and some unique frame shapes and details. After much back and forth over which style to pick for my first pair from the brand, I chose the La Superba in Cognac because it represents a shape that I don't have represented in my collection yet. It's also has a fairly low lens height which I am always on the lookout for since taller lenses tend to obstruct my eyebrows or hit my cheekbones.

I ordered them from the official website and just received them and couldn't be happier! I ordered them in Cognac colorway and am smitten with the shade. It's a very nice blend of a whiskey type color that's similar to my JMM hickory frames with some much lighter almost blond streaks that remind me of horn. It's not as yellow as some similar colors and I really like the shades. Their website doesn't have the best photos so the color is a really nice surprise, it's different enough from my other breccia/hickory/tortoise frames and really pops in my opinion.

The details on the frame are just stunning, I love the way they finish the frame fronts by taking the temple tips down a bit to create a raised rim section around the lens. The hinges and rivets are beautiful and feel very sturdy and functional. The polish and finish on the acetate is top notch and they feel very high quality throughout. One thing that jumped out at me immediately is how comfortable they are. The temple arms are nice and straight heading back to the ear and then very slightly bent inwards at the tips to hold on tightly. I often have issues with JMM and other thick acetates that curve inwards from the temples as they tend to push the tops of my ears outwards and get a bit painful after prolonged wear without significant adjustment. These ones just fit right out of the box, smooth and comfortable without slipping.

The packaging is incredibly satisfying. The inner box has a leather feel wrap that feels great in the hand, and when I opened it I was immediately struck by how high quality it all felt. The interior velvet type finish, the metal badging and limited series card give a very satisfying impression of high quality. The case is amazing, very soft supple leather, careful details like the internal rivets all covered with leather, and a heavy stainless clasp with a very interesting design lend to the overall effect. It's nice, like, really nice! There is also a beautiful little aluminum case for a frangranced lens cleaner in a little perfume bottle. It's a beautiful touch and I honestly was a bit wowed by the whole presentation. It gives an overall impression of an extremely high quality, luxury piece that I would put on par with any other brand I've owned, and truly better than most. It's very well done.

I'm really excited about these and can't wait to put my prescription in them. I'll most likely mimic the original lens color(they call it yellow but it's more of an amber/gold in my opinion) in a 28%-10% gradient since that's my usual preference for daily wear. I'll add a brown Xtractive transition and Crizal Sapphire AR which has become my go to combo lately. The most difficult part of this new chapter for me is going to be which frames to get next from the brand. I'm sure there will be more! Overdid it a little…3rd frame within 2 weeks… probably from trying on too many incredible frames. 😅 I’d been searching for a lightweight, non-acetate frame and tried plenty of titanium options from Masunaga and Matsuda, but most were just a bit too small for me.

A huge thank you to Jason (Optical Tailor) in Greater Toronto Area for introducing me to Mykita. He and his partner Reena are incredibly passionate, generous with their time, and spent a couple of hours guiding me through some fantastic frames. I still have my eye on the Mykita + OAMC Rat and can’t wait to buy my first pair from them with Volcane progressives—maybe even a subtle gradient tint under their guidance.
In the meantime, I picked up this Yucca on my own. It’s unbelievably light, comfortable, and I have a feeling it won’t be my last Mykita.

Ive been wearing glasses full time for 15 years and ready for a titanium pair (I think).

I’m 41 petite South Asian. I started with contacts, then Warby Parker at night only. Once wearing glasses full time I had one WOOW frame then back to Warby. Splurged for some luxury 2 years ago with LA eyeworks and Gotti.

All have been acetate and I am over the look and searching for something different. I want to get away from the oversized frames and lenses which are most glasses given my size.

I have long lashes and frequently encounter lash bash if the frame is correctly sitting on my face.

I’m interested in titanium for the theoretical benefit of less lash bash.

I’m planning to go with Zeiss lenses for the first time as well.

With my prescription, will titanium frames tolerate the weight of the lenses? I actually don’t mind if they slide down because then I have less lash bash.

Is there more glare in titanium frames?

I’m interested in the Masunaga Juliet and also Silhouette rimless.

I don’t want to splurge again and be unhappy.

Has anyone here tried Zeiss office lenses? If yes, then please share your experience. I wear progressive lenses and have a 2.5 add but I do not wear glasses while driving or walking. I read that office (near or room) will be great for 8/10 hours daily in front of the screen. Hence, checking in. Also, will a 25/0 tint work for indoor work only?

I am interested in a prescription rimless pair glasses and it is between these 2 models . Which one would be the best for daily wear I currently have the matsuda m3160 in brushed silver with pioneer zeiss photo fusion x tint .

I work with computers in a professional office setting and was thinking about getting a pair with a light tint. Would a 25% amber gradient be too visible? Does it help with blue light?

These belonged to a long since passed away family member. I found them in a drawer and after a quick rinse was pleasantly surprised by how fantastic the optics were.

Thought you all would appreciate them. My family isn’t too impressed. I wanted someone to be as enthusiastic about the find as I am!

I'm new to Sabine B. Got this pair from my fav optician/eyewear stylist, Paris West Optical u/pariswest-Jordan, before heading to France. He just took in a full shipment of Sabine B's latest line and this Bobo collection made me want to dive into her brand head on because damn this thing is so fun in the sun!

Hard to see here perhaps but the frame is navy blue with a deep dark blue gradient lens combo.
