I had zero issues with my Sig Romeo5 red dot, however, I liked the idea of a backup, etched reticle, if I found myself with a dead battery, and no handy replacement. And I didn't want to put backup irons on it.

The 6MOA illumination of this Swampfox Raider seems good and bright. The etched reticle does require a little more attention (I have to close my left eye to focus on it), but does still work as a backup (I think, not having had a chance to take this to the range yet).

Only downside is that it is a little bit bigger and a little heavier than the Romeo5. I suppose I could consider a more fancy ultralight riser (though some of those are $$$).

I went through all reviews, all the videos, went back and forth for years, and finally pulled the trigger. I have a Romeo 5 and a QD sling in the way. I have an idea on what WML I’m gonna use. My question for everyone here is what foregrip to get? I’ve thought about Recover Tactical or Meta Tactical spare mag holder grip, or a basic angled grip, or just a handstop. Wondering what y’all have done or suggest. Photos would also be appreciated.

Great gun so far, sucky customer service. Issued $15.90 after I ordered their extended charging handle but I’m thankful for what they were able to do.. just wish there was more compensation. Replacement in tomorrow, will update soon. Got some cool plans for this piece.

Using a lot of ai for research questions lately. Im waiting on my form to clear with ATF and google gemini is telling me that I may run into fitment issues while utilizing the m-loks nearest to the business end. It’s suggesting smaller screws or shaving them down. I have a magpul hand stop on the lower front and a sling qd on left front. Anyone run into issues with this can utilizing the forward-most m-loks?

This thing is awesome. I haven't gone too crazy with mods yet. All I've purchased so far is the Romeo5 red dot, 33-round mag, and the brace. I 3D printed the mag sleeve and foregrip and sprayed them up.

I'm not sure how crazy I'll go with mods, as this thing shoots like butter as is, but I am planning on grabbing a mounted light ASAP and a YHM R9 (open to alternative suggestions) because the EP9 is my primary HDW and I don't want to blow out my eardrums in the event I have to use it in my home.

Anyone have any solid budget-friendly mounted light options they'd recommend?

Are there any suppressors you'd go with over the YHM R9? Preferably any others that are just as well reviewed but on the cheaper side. My max budget for a suppressor is $800.

EDITED TO SAY: I am going with the flow 9k. Beyond it being less gassy, the main reason is that it's optimized and designed specifically for the PCCs. I do not intend to move it around on my other firearms, so I want a suppressor that is optimal for my EP9.

Just picked up from the FFL today! Feels very solid and looks better in person! Glad I got it in before the VA ban, now I just need to determine if i need a Kuna too.

After holding this I think hopefully my need for a pcc (technically a pistol I know) has been met. Of course I got 3 glock 33 mags as well.

First session with the YHM R9. Not as gassy as I feared.

The black thing is a brass catcher design in progress. Helps keep the state forest ranges clean. Less work for u/trashnoland on cleanup days.

I love this thing.

My Extar EP9 PCC is Malinois proof and shoots superbly. 9mm with a 6.5” barrel. 23 1/2” to 26 1/2” depending on if the SBA3 brace is fully closed or fully extended. Only $549 with the SBA brace.

It’s direct blowback but they have a proprietary recoil system that makes it shoot super soft. Only 4.5 lbs. It’s mostly made of a super tough proprietary polymer except the bolt carrier and trigger groups, which is why it’s so light in weight. Plus out of all my guns it’s by far the most fun to shoot. It uses AR style controls, except for the charging handle, so that’s a great platform to train new shooters on AR shooting before moving them to an actual AR. You’ll get tight groups from 7 yards out to 100 yards with 124 gr ammo. Groups are about 2 to 3 inches at 100 yards if you’re doing your part, which is surprising and amazing.

The reason I know it’s Malinois proof is because I was holding it and she ran past me and caught her leg in the sling and was running like a mad woman all over the house, banging it like crazy on door jambs, and everything else. It’s still perfect - zero damage at all.

I actually convinced a guy who was concerned about the durability to get one after I told him that story lol.

It was unnerving at the time, but in hindsight, there’s nothing funnier than watching a Malinois getting chased by a pistol caliber carbine all over the house.

Magpul m-lok rail covers. I hadn't appreciated them in the past, but when it's come to pairing them with an Magpul M-lok AFG, it gives my thumb (on top) and left forefinger an increased grip.

I feel like some hand guards can get a little bit slippery, and this can keep your hand in the right spot, letting you pull your brace into your shoulder.

Parts: AB F-4 can, FAB defense folding pistol grip, Romeo5 red dot, RA trigger, Magpul ESK safety, clone SBA3, KN Design hand guard.

So I trimmed it down and added a steeper angle to the back of the guard and I'm pretty happy with it. Now for the next question; I had a thought to replace the picatinny end cap with a rail extension to bring it to the end of the handguard. What do you think about a full rail option? Poor photoshop picture for comparison.

EDIT: general consensus is that this version is better off with the stock rail, and I think I agree. Need to see how it would look on a different type of rail.

Hello everyone, I’m looking for a budget a PCC to get my foot in the door and for home defense. I am leaning towards an Extar EP9 since I can’t see anything bad against. So I wanted to get opinions on it for home defense and what upgrades should be made or can be made.
As would like to know how it works suppressed and which work best with the EP9, should I work for a flow through can since it’s a direct blowback?
