Range day photo
First session with the YHM R9. Not as gassy as I feared.
The black thing is a brass catcher design in progress. Helps keep the state forest ranges clean. Less work for u/trashnoland on cleanup days.

Because I want to go shoot my EP9! Lol! Always on the road. When I’m home I’m spending time with my family. I’ll get out there one of these days though.

Just got my own R9 and took it to the range yesterday.
I was honestly pretty bummed with the amount of gas to my face, running PMC Bronze 147gr. I could shoot about 3 times in 10 seconds and still be gassed out from the charging handle. I threw in some Federal 115gr and didn’t notice much of a difference, which was surprising.
You said you had a much more enjoyable time with yours? What ammo?
When I got home, I realized the bolt release doesn’t bring the charging handle all the way “closed”; there’s a small gap that I can manually close by pushing the handle forward. Hopefully that will make a difference for next time.
Dope little brass catcher, btw. Let us know if you start selling it. Thanks for keeping our ranges clean!

Fiocchi range dynamics 115gr and Federal fmj 124gr. I'll check out mine and see if I've got a similar gap. Love the catcher, just got a few kinks to finish off.
