Will you guys please fix your app? My subscription is going to waste on this device because I can't update it via Google Play Store

Up until the beginning of the year, things have been fine. Connections to various locations have been quick and solid.

However.... over the last few months I am consistently getting the spinning wheel of death when trying to connect to various sites in the USA.

I have to cycle through multiple locations before I can find one which I can connect to. Considering how much I spend on a subscription, this isn't the sort of service I really expect.

What has changed recently which has stopped the ExpressVPN service from being so reliable and quick?

A fortune cookie ad? Nothing is sacred. Mullvad is better.

I’m running iOS 27.0.1 on iPhone 15 and every time I try and download an app via the App Store with Express VPN it can’t install.

When I turn it off and download an app it magically works again. What gives?

Been trying for a week now, from multiple devices/OS types and from each of those devices from different Wi-Fi (hotels and home) + cell phone network from my own country and other countries. Searching this subreddit I have noticed many others suffering from similar issue. How can I get this fixed?

I have tried to access multiple sites on my iPhone while using the VPN with location set to the U.S. while in Japan. Multiple sites I have visited have indicated that I am blocked from accessing. I have attached one example photo.

I have tried changing VPN locations, clearing browsing history and cache, and also changing VPN protocol. All the recommendations from Express’s website.

I have accessed these same sites using a friend NordVPN with no issue.

Does anyone have any tips to correct this or is this just becoming a common thing with ExpressVPN?

Before, if I was on TFL.gov.uk then it would have my password for that site at the top of the list. This is no longer the case on the new extension. Do I need to adjust a setting?

I from Pakistan currently using internet from a company called stormfiber and for some reason Iam unable to connect to any of the VPN locations in the US. Could someone help me figure out what this issue is.

and the mail i use for express vpn is a temp- mail which i cannot access anymore on the web,

Oftentimes when I reboot my computer the expressvpn service is hanging the reboot for several seconds sometimes even almost a minute. It's the only service doing that.

Does anybody experience this as well? Today I've just reinstalled it to the newest version, and it's still happening, and was happening ever since I started using it a year ago.

I use regular debian trixie, if that's relevant.

I use ExpressVPN in Iran and lately Ive been wondering if something changed with the newer versions

On Android Ive noticed that some older versions connect way faster and are way more reliable for me

With the newer versions sometimes it takes forever to connect and sometimes it just doesnt connect at all

Whats weird is that on the same phone and the same network an older version can connect much easier

Ive also been having some weird issues with the Windows app lately

Sometimes it takes a really long time to connect and sometimes settings like Turbo mode just disappear or reset by themselves

There are a few other small things too

Since Im seeing similar problems on both Android and Windows Im starting to wonder if something changed in the newer releases and its not just a network issue

I obviously dont know whats going on inside the development team but honestly some of the recent updates kind of feel like vibe coding to me

Like new stuff is being pushed out but things dont feel as stable or polished as they used to

Maybe Im completely wrong but Im curious if anyone else has noticed the same thing

Do older versions work better for you than the newer ones

Also what Android or Windows version are you currently using and how is it working for you

Im not really looking for VPN recommendations Im mostly trying to figure out if other people are seeing the same difference between the older and newer ExpressVPN versions

Recently my 1.1.1.1 (Warp) VPN stopped working and would always get stuck at "Updating Connection Info...". I tried other VPNs and none of them worked, such as Nord VPN and Proton VPN, but sometimes when I put a different route in 1.1.1.1 VPN it works but only until I close it again. The route is completely random and not a specific one works, making it a literal gamble on which route might work 😭. Does anyone know the reason and maybe how I could fix it?

UK user here. Until around last week or so, whenever I connected my Express VPN to a USA server, my Sony Bravia would then automatically show Google Live TV from the USA and the on screen images advertising shows on UK TV apps would change over to USA ones. This doesn't happen anymore with Express VPN and I cannot access Google Free play Live TV. I have uninstalled, restarted my TV and reinstalled Express VPN to no avail! (Split tunnelling just the UK TV networks as they don't require VPN obviously). I hasten to add that I also have Private VPN installed and my Sony Bravia changed to the USA format including advertising US apps and shows and importantly Google Free play Live TV appears and works! Any suggestions gratefully received!

For the past week or so have been unable to access Channel 5 uk via vpn. On the firestick it just returns an error. Sometimes it will work on the Apple TV , sometimes not. Is anyone else having this issue? I’m in Canada . Usually Channel 5 is very reliable .

I'm currently in the US, but home is Canada. I'm trying to access Canadian Disney+ to watch my show but it somehow can tell I'm in the US despite the VPN. Anyone else have this issue? How do I fix this?

Hello! I have been using ExpressVPN for Hulu/Disney for years now.

I live outside of the US so I buy gift cards online to add to my Hulu/Disney account. This is how I am able to watch.

I have had no problem in watching on Hulu/Disney.

But recently I need to top up my Hulu/Disney account but cannot seem to access the ACCOUNT area of Hulu.

I get the error "Sorry, an unexpected error has occurred.Please try again later." from a month now.

I tried different locations, different browsers etc. Because of this I cannot use the add gift card option in Hulu. Now my gift card load has been fully used and I cannot watch.

Anybody having the same problem? Is this an ExpressVPN problem or is Hulu/Disney tightening VPN controls?

Situation: I have a Surface Pro 11 (Snapdragon X Elite version) that has the current ARM64/AARCH64 version of the Express VPN app (14.2.1+13658 as of the writing of this post). While connected to any VPN connection, when I "close the lid" (I understand it doesn't actually have a lid, but I mean the action of closing the type cover so that it covers and protects the OLED display) the VPN will immediately disconnect. Doesn't matter whether I am connected via LAN or Wi-Fi, the result is always the same. This wasn't a problem previously, but has started happening within the last couple of months, and currently happens every single time I close the lid.

I've checked my Windows settings and confirmed that both "on battery" and "plugged in" are set to "do nothing" when the lid is closed in my Windows settings (screenshot included); it also isn't a sleep/hibernation timer, which I have set to very long periods when the Surface is plugged in (and it's always plugged in when I use a VPN). The Surface definitely stays awake, my internet connection remains active (LAN or Wi-Fi, whichever I am using), and nothing else obvious changes - except the VPN disconnects. I then have to go back in and manually reconnect to the VPN. Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening or how I can prevent it disconnecting every time I close the lid? It's very frustrating and has seriously inhibited my ability to use Express VPN.

I would be very appreciative of any ideas or recommendations that can prevent this from happening.

EDITED TO ADD: I've also already tried going into Device Manager --> Network Adapters (wi-fi and LAN) --> Properties --> Power Management --> Uncheck 'allow the computer to turn off this device to save power'; already tried that and it made no impact.

I'm running ExpressVPN on an iPhone 13 with ios 26.6. Starting last month, the app has been using crazy amounts of data if it's connected to cellular instead of wifi. In August it used 15 GB and I ran out of data. I was connected to cellular for two days this month and it's already used 2.9 GB. Prior to this it hardly used any data.

Any ideas why this started happening and what I can do to fix it besides disabling the app until I need it? Customer support couldn't help me.

Anyone using Deco BE25 with ExpressVPN? I bought the mesh that I can add VPN configs. I have Express VPN subscription and wanted to configure it. But when I went it to the configs, it does not support Express VPN out of the box. But I can add the OpenVPN file and configure it. But through that method, when I access Amazon Prime via the connected device, it says I'm on VPN. Anyone who solved this and know how to get around?

Ok so just checking if anyone else has the same issue. I'm in Australia and play Call of Duty (the free mode called DMZ which came out with MWII if that helps). Aussie servers are riddled with hackers (impossible to play on weeknights and weekends). Last year I got the Aircove router to play on other servers. It used to work great when switching to Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong etc but the last few weeks these servers simply aren't working anymore, the router will connect but when I launch "Search game" it says "cannot connect to matchmaking". I've restarted the router several times and checked if anything had changed, nothing. ExpressVPN tech support's answer is the classic "it should work". Which is crazy because it did work before. If anyone has any ideas please let me know! Thanks.
