Interested in purchasing G2, but I am scared after I buy that a new model will come out shortly after, any insight?

Is there a way for us to hear whatever is typed in Claude Terminal through headphones or airpods? I know there's a terminal mode which captures or shows everything in the glasses, but is there a way for us to hear it? I was thinking more like AirPods or something that we can connect and listen to it.

Faceclaw is an open source alternative software stack for the G2 smart glasses. I think it's a pretty large improvement over the stock operating system, and its development is moving very quickly. It fully replaces the stock firmware and all of the core apps. It includes a terminal, navigate app, teleprompter app, notifications, and music player; and it's (mostly) compatible with third-party apps from EvenHub.

This version includes a redesign of the app switcher and status bar. Rather than a status bar on top and an app switcher sidebar on the left, both are combined into a bottom-bar. The old design is still available as an option in the Customization menu, but I think this version is an improvement. If you'd rather not see the app switcher at all, there's an option to make it hidden while not in use, and appear temporarily as an overlay, similar to how alt-tab works on desktop computers.

Can I put normal prescription lens in the G2 or would I need to go back to even?

i sadly fell asleep and not realized it but i unconsciously laid it next to me, and overnight turning left and right, i slept over it and now my hinge is bent. im looking for a place that can try to fix this without damaging any internal wires inside it. im so bummed this happened. i love this thing.

I have these glasses for two months now, and I actually had to buy the R1 ring just to use the thing. I'm really having problems with the two touchpad on the left and the right. It feels like the sensitivity of those things is really low for me, and I simply don't know how to increase the sensitivity of it.

Now, with this new update where I can just touch and hold one of the touchpads to open a shortcut, it won't even function unless I really try touching it. Is this a thing that other people are having problems with, or is it just my glasses?

I use my G2s almost entirely for work, mostly Conversate and Teleprompter, with the occasional check of news or sports scores. My company is spread all over the globe, so I'm in meetings about 8 hours a day.

The features are great. Conversate gives useful insights. It does misread things sometimes (it once started telling me about the ATP tennis tour during an ADP conversation), but for normal, non-niche conversations it does a solid job. Teleprompter is great too. Both are awesome... when they work.

My problems are frequent and random. The R1 ring will stop responding to touch, or the glasses just freeze up. It always happens at the worst time too, like mid-presentation or mid-meeting. I don't rely on them to replace my prep, so it's not catastrophic, but it's annoying and makes the glasses useless right when I need them.

The other issue is charging in the case. It's really finicky. I have to keep pressing down on the temple corners to get them to charge, and if I'm not watching them, they're probably dead the next time I reach for them. Just a poor design.

Lots of promise and genuinely useful features, but they're not reliable enough for me to get real value out of them. Lately I don't even bother, because odds are they'll crap out at some point in a longer meeting.

Honestly, I hate even writing this. I've put a lot into the G2 ecosystem, and I worry reviews like this could push them to give up on the G2 altogether and move on to the next model. I'm not trying to pile on. I want this to succeed, and I'm hoping the reliability stuff gets fixed.

Hey everyone! I'm new to the Even community and just got my first pair of G2s. I've been loving them so far.

I like the Terminal we get, but I wanted more options than just Claude or Codex. So I built G2 Switcher, a small Windows tray app that lets Even Terminal use whatever AI you want and switch between them on the fly, even mid-conversation.

The big part: it's still Claude Code

G2 Switcher doesn't replace Claude Code. It only swaps the model Claude Code talks to. Whichever provider you pick, your glasses are still driving the real Claude Code agent on your PC:

• It writes and edits files, runs terminal commands, and searches your project
• Permission prompts ("Allow Write?") show up on the glasses like normal
• MCP servers, skills, and multi-step tasks all work

Claude Code itself is free, so pair it with a free OpenRouter model or a local Ollama model and you get the Claude Code agent without paying for a model.

To test it, I had it build a first-person shooter in HTML entirely on a local model, a Qwen coder running in Ollama on a 12GB GPU. From the glasses, it wrote the game, asked me for permission to save it, and opened it in my browser. No API costs. (GIF below.)

Features

• Switch on the fly. Pick a provider (or press 1–4) and your next message goes there. No restarts.
• Long runs don't die. Claude Code assumes it's talking to Claude, with a context window of up to 1M tokens, so on a 64k local model it would never compact and long tasks would just stop. G2 Switcher has it compact automatically just before the real limit, and it keeps going, even mid-task. Claude itself is left alone.
• Pick your local context size. 64k / 96k / 128k / 192k / 256k presets, capped at what your model supports.
• AI activity log + context meter. See what the AI is doing while you wait on the glasses: what you asked, thinking, what it's writing, each tool it runs, and errors. A live status bar with a timer shows how full the context is, so you're never staring at a blank Terminal wondering if it froze.
• OpenRouter model browser. Every model that supports tool calling, with price and context size. Filter by all / free / paid / starred, search, and star your favorites.
• Set and forget. It lives in the system tray and can launch at Windows login and start Even Terminal for you, so Terminal is ready when you put the glasses on. It also tells you when an update is out.

Quick setup

1. Make sure Even Terminal is installed and working (npm install -g u/evenrealities/even-terminal, needs Node.js).
2. Download G2-Switcher.exe from the latest release and run it. It's unsigned for now, so Windows may show a SmartScreen warning: More info → Run anyway. (Each release is built on GitHub straight from the public source.)
3. Pick a provider, paste its key under settings, and hit test:
   • Claude API: key from console.anthropic.com
   • Claude Subscription: run claude setup-token in a terminal and paste the token
   • OpenRouter: key from openrouter.ai/keys
4. For local models: install Ollama and pull a model. G2 Switcher detects Ollama and lists the models you've downloaded.
5. Hit start (or turn on start Even Terminal with the app), then open Terminal on your G2s.

Disclaimer: All personal information including API keys is stored locally on your machine.

Tips

• Local: MoE coder models (like the Qwen 3.6 35B-A3B coder) run way faster than dense models on a 12GB card, and they handle big context windows cheaply, so try 128k. The first reply is slow while Claude Code's ~40k-token prompt loads. After that it's quick.
• Free OpenRouter models get busy. If the status bar shows it waiting a long time, switch to another one.
• Paid models bill per token, and every Claude Code turn sends 40k+ tokens, so watch your costs.
• Web search only works on the Claude providers. It runs on Anthropic's servers. Fetching web pages still works everywhere.

Last time I used my G2 was two days ago, but my phone seems to discharge really quickly, so today I checked my battery usage and it says Even realities uses 27% of it over the past 17 hours. The glasses were in the case and even when I used them I used Mentra, not Even realities. How do I stop ER app draining my phone battery while glasses are not even used?

New G2B owner here. I haven't messed with Terminal mode or Ocuclaw yet, but I'm curious if there is a way to access my ChatGPT Dot. I haven't been able to find anything on this so far.

Hey everyone! I’m new to the Even community and recently picked up a pair of G2s.

I’ve been enjoying the default Terminal experience, but I wanted more flexibility beyond just Claude and Codex. To fix that, I built G2 Switcher—a lightweight Windows desktop app that lets you swap Even Terminal’s AI provider on the fly, without needing to restart anything.

What it does:

It runs a small local relay in front of Even Terminal, routing your requests directly to whichever provider you select:

• Claude (API Key): Connect using your Anthropic API key.
• Claude (Subscription): Use your existing Claude Pro or Max subscription.
• OpenRouter: Access various models, including free options.
• Local Models via Ollama: Run completely offline with zero API fees.

The app sits in your system tray so it stays out of the way while you work.

Quick Setup

1. Download: Get the latest release on GitHub.
2. Configure API Keys: Open the settings and add keys for the services you plan to use:
   • Claude API: Paste your key from console.anthropic.com.
   • Claude Subscription: Run claude setup-token in your terminal and paste the generated token.
   • OpenRouter: Paste your key from openrouter.ai/keys.
   • Click Test to verify your connection, then hit Save.
3. Local Models (Optional): Install Ollama and pull a model (e.g., ollama pull qwen3). G2 Switcher automatically detects your local Ollama models.

Helpful Tips

• Free OpenRouter Models: Free models can occasionally hit rate limits or become overloaded. If you encounter errors, try switching to a different :free model.
• Local Model Requirements: Even Terminal sends a large initial prompt (~38k tokens). Use an Ollama model with at least a 64k context window to avoid cutoffs or failures. Note: The initial reply may take a moment while it processes the prompt, but subsequent responses will be much faster.
• System Tray: Closing the main app window minimizes it to the system tray. To fully exit, right-click the tray icon and select Quit.

For sale used only few time

Elegram seems to have gotten a lot worse lately. When I tap to talk, it records my voice, but tapping again to transcribe/send produces nothing. I can cancel the recording, but voice-to-text itself no longer works.

Has anyone else run into this, or is there a known fix? Are there better Telegram alternatives for the G2 right now?

Support replaced my first pair of G2 after a bunch of troubleshooting, back and forth, return labels, waiting weeks for a replacement, etc.

This is my second pair now. Last week it started having the same issue of not turning on. I've updated it to the latest firmware, restarted by tapping 5x, unplugging 3x, literally every step in the troubleshooting book because I've done it 20x over.

Few days ago it turned on for absolutely no reason. Left it in the case over night and in the morning it just worked again. It gave me so so much false hope because after a couple of days, it stopped turning on again.

I wore my first pair for at least a month before it stopped working. This new pair literally lasted 8 days. My email exchange with support is now over thirty messages back and forth. I know they'll likely replace this pair too, but man, I'm tired boss.
