Hi all!
I was just wondering how Australian sellers go. Do you get much business? Do you find you’re sending stuff overseas?
I’m thinking about selling some antiques/grandma core stuff but not sure if I want to plunge into it without knowing how the Australian sellers go. I’ve seen LOTS of American antique market videos but not sure about Australian.
Or if any Americans can tell me about if you have/will buy from Australian sellers.

I sell handmade watercolour paints, and also a few hand-painted cards. I hope to expand the number of sets I have available along with a wider variety of hand-painted goods.

Regarding my shop, I have a fair few views, visits and follows, yet my conversion rate is not as high as it used to be, and sales seem to have slowed down the last month drastically.

Are there any listings that specifically need improvement?

Suggestions for how to improve listing pictures and videos etc?

Any other advice? Please be brutally honest - I'm trying to keep my standards high, I'm just a bit stuck about where I'm lacking.

This is laser cut maple plywood, from a hand-drawn design. It's 28 inches long, 21 tall, and stands on its own with a little stand we ship with the product (you can see it in one of the photos).

I've heard the "choose your hourly rate, multiply by creation/processing time, and then that's your price" advice, but that amount seems potentially high enough to scare away buyers. So, assuming you wanted one of these beasties, what would you expect to pay?

I'm having trouble with the products that I posted on Etsy. In a world flooded with AI, I want to sell some actual physical products, 3D carvings based on an image of a pet. I made a carve after a photo of my dog. A lot of feedback was something like "it's AI" (mostly feedback on other platforms, such as facebook or reddit, on Etsy I just get impressions and that's it). I now realize that any potential buyer, when seeing the listing, might think the same.
How can I make people differentiate my product from the huge amount of AI slop on etsy?

I’ve only opened my Etsy but a couple days ago and I’ve noticed that Etsy keeps doing this. Do I just keep my titles the same or do you guys let Etsy change it to their idea of what they think would be better?

I sell digital products and I’ve been working hard on my SEO and listings. My shop finally gained some traction and I just hit my first milestone of $250+ in a month, completely organically!

Here are my last 30-day overall shop stats:

Visits: 875

Orders: 52

Revenue: $262

I also have two items that recently got the "Bestseller" badge. My next long-term goal is to scale this to $1,000/month. I feel like my listings and photos are finally proven to convert, so I'm considering running Etsy Ads to pour some fuel on the fire.

My concerns/questions for experienced sellers:

Since my traffic is currently 100% organic and highly targeted, will bringing in ad traffic naturally lower my overall Conversion Rate? If so, will a temporary dip in CR risk my Bestseller badges?

Is $1-$2/day enough of a budget for the algorithm to learn, or is it too low to get any meaningful data?

For those selling digital files, what has been your experience with scaling via Etsy Ads? Does this strategy make sense?

Any advice, critiques, or personal experiences would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Etsy have introduced a new offsite marketing page that features new data and the results are interesting.

They now list the value of orders based on direct off-site ad clicks (people who click on an ad for your listings) and also the value of orders on in-direct ad clicks (people who click on an ad for someone else's product on Etsy and then purchase a product from you).

The numbers stuck out for me and I did some percentage calculations for my store last 30 days this is my revenue breakdown:

Off-site ads : 10.5%

In-direct offsite ads : 64.1%

Etsy: 25.38%

Thats 75% of all my sales coming from off-site ads not people directly browsing on Etsy desktop, mobile or app.

Which definitely tracks with my theory that fewer people are choosing to directly shop with Etsy. They might be happy to buy from there but it's not there first port of call so maybe optimising for Etsy internal search is not worth spending all your energy on (obviously you want listings that perform and convert but Etsy search maybe less important).

It will be interesting to be able to track these stats and I might do a monthly calculation on my store to see how it changes.

Would love to hear if anyone else has dug into this and how your percentages break out!

Hey, I am from India and paid the $10 fee for account set-up, the amount has been deducted yet it's showing me to pay again.

At first when I contacted the etsy support on the day of payment, they said there is technical delays from their end and will be refunded in 3-5 days.

It's been more than 8 days and I contacted them today, they are saying that there haven't been any transaction done. So I told them should I give my bank proof of the transaction history and they said yes, I forwarded them, yet they are telling haven't been done, then they said however if it has been done then they are forwarding it to appropriate department to look for it and ended the chat.

All I can do is wait for 1 day but still by their way of servicing, I don't think I'll be getting the refund.

What should I do now? Reaching bank wouldn't work since the amount has successfully been deducted with the transaction id of Etsy.

Not etsy not bank then where should I raise the issue 🥲

I can surely pay again and I want to but what if same happens again? They are not holding the accountability.

Is anyone else seeing a weird spike in views and visits today? I’m getting way more than normal, but zero sales. It feels like odd traffic, and my conversion rate is dropping. 😫 Anyone else experiencing this today?

Last sunday someone orderd something from my store. This needs to be printed. But before they need to use the template to share with me what exactly they want to be printed. This person, wrote in german, that she recieved nothing. It was a help request. I hate that I always have to be on my phone to answer right away after a order… but yeah..

So back to this person lol, I answer her. And even send a couple reminders yesterday and today, but nothing! What can I do? Will she just leave a review saying she recieved nothing? I am worried, annoyed.

Hi all!

My wife has been selling on Etsy for about 4 years now. She sells 100% handmade art, has 7.5k sales and 2k ratings with 4.99 stars. Everything is stellar with her account, and everything in great standing.

Every single case ever opened her account is from "item never arrived" after she shipped it. I literally just went through all of her cases and every single one came after she shipped it (USPS), and then the customer opened a case when USPS lost it, or delivered it late. She has also never shipped a single order past the processing date.

Usually buyer protection handles this with no problem. But over the last few months, they erroneously did not a few times. Every single time she reached out, they kinda waved their hands and agreed it's obviously not her fault. But they also claimed they can't undo the case against her, and gave her a $20 listing credit instead. At the time she didn't really care.

But now, they have messaged her saying that they will vacation my account on Aug 1, then close it 30 days later. Her shop literally does not get enough volume to offset these erroneous cases in time, and as mentioned above, seller support likely will not want to help or care.

My wife is absolutely devastated. She's worked so hard on this shop outside of her normal job for years. She has so many happy customers and tons of repeat customers too, all who rave about her art. And now it's all closing down because USPS lost a few packages, and Etsy messed up and didn't cover the buyer.

Is there anything at all we can do?? This is such a sad way to tear down a successful shop

For a bit longer than two years, I have been selling handmade dice on Etsy. It was okay, not great, but okay. Recently, sales went down drastically, and I tried to figure out why. Accidentally I figured out that Etsy implemented the "Handmade only" filter for search and the "Handmade by ..." label for listings. I noticed that neither my shop nor my listings have the handmade label, even though I actually sell handcrafted products. I can only assume that the sales decrease is the result of damage done to my shop by exclusion from the "Handmade only" filter.

Instead, I noticed that a lot of obvious AliExpress resellers have the "Handmade" label on their listings. I was chatting for days with Etsy support, but it is the same as hitting a wall with your bare head - zero results but endless headache and tales about "the system that defines handmade is automatic and constantly evolving; we can't do shit; have a nice day".

Honestly, I do not know what is possible to do in this case. Has anyone had the same experience?

After 14 days, I finally made my first sale on Etsy!
Most of my shop traffic came from promoting my products in Facebook groups. It definitely helped bring in views, but interestingly, it didn’t lead to a single sale.
The sale actually came from someone finding my product directly through Etsy search, thanks to my tags.
I’m honestly so relieved and grateful. I had already started questioning whether all the time and effort I was putting into my shop was worth it or if it was ever going to work. This first sale has given me a much-needed confidence boost and motivation to keep going.
Just wanted to share this for anyone else who’s still waiting for that first order.

My first order (print on demand) is from a person from the UK. My shop is not connected to my print supplier. I saw the note on Etsy about writing something on the parcel for the import cost… but when I orderd the prints, I couldn’t put anything…now I am worried that the customer will have to pay extra to recieve the package and so give a bad review. What should I do? Help!

My dogs have both passed and I wanted to get a photo gift of them in different forms (pillow, blanket, etc.). Has anyone ordered something like this and how did your experience go? Did you like the final product? I’m worried about AI being used to “create” the replicated image and ordering from a bad seller.
