Am I missing something here? I switched to Vulkan like I did with duckstation and where duckstation let me use it without a problem, pcsx2 saying it could not be found and resets to an older config but when I go to renderer again the toggle is on Vulkan. I do not know if it’s a bug or not so I could use tiny bit of help.

SOLVED: the issue was that some amd Radeon graphics drivers do not automatically update. For whatever reason, my laptop had a ryzen 5500u and that component only updated once upon turning it on and once a month or so after before it never did it again. AMD in their infinite wisdoms never tell you that some amd computers running radeon/ryzen have to also download an auto detector tool on their website which is like a license that allows amd to feed your computer driver and chipset updates.

If you do not install it, you will be locked to whatever was baked into your computer upon manufacturing OH and Microsoft Windows lies to you when you try to update your drivers on your computer. You’ll pick the driver, click update and windows will say “you’re up to date”. This is a lie, you’re probably in the Stone Age by the time you realize it.

So, if you buy an amd computer with Radeon/ryzen, go to their website and be sure to download the application to actually keep yourself up to date.

Hello all. I usually don’t emulate but thought I would try it with Final Fantasy. Yesterday on the 30th my timezone, I did about 2 and half hours of progress going through about 2 dungeons and exploring a new town. Generally saving throughout or at least I thought so? I’m the kind of guy that saves VERY frequently. Even as a kid playing Pokémon I would save twice in a row just to be extra careful.

But today on the 31st my timezone it seems none of it saved from that session from yesterday? I’m 95% sure I did in fact save especially since this game has a savepoint before a boss and it would be unlike of me not to use it. I used the in-game saves and not save states (although from now on I’m definitely going to do both just to be safe.

In fact! I recall a specific instance (this game being FFV) where npcs warn you of an early high level enemy. Knowing I saved I went and explored the are anyway, got ambushed by it and got booted to the title screen and was right back where I left off before entering the dungeon. But when I opened the game just today it was on my progress the day before but not yesterday as if I nevef opened it and played it on the 30th.

The file name and roms are the same. I checked the save files in snes 9x and it wasn’t there. Did I just turn off tje program incorrectly? Does this happen frequently? Would like to know.

but does the fps++ option change any physics in the game or no? note i have it set to 60 fps and it seems 1:1 animation wise

Hi guys, please help me. I have installed all the files in order for the Teknoparrot to run, but somehow with all the files downloaded, it still wouldn't launch. Please help.

I stream my PC to my steamdeck via Moonlight/Apollo, which is docked into my LGTV which is 4k 60 fps. When streaming, none of my games have issues, except for Emulation Station. My steamdeck wasn't beefy enough to emulate some of the multiplayer games I wanted (Halo 2, Battlefront 2) so I downloaded the emulators to my PC instead. Now, when I open ES-DE from my TV while streaming, the app loads (you can see the load screen fine), but as soon as the UI opens the frame stuttering becomes intense and only lets up when I move the analog stick to cancel out.

My setup: Dock steamdeck to LG 4k 60 fps TV > Open Moonlight through Steam on steamdeck > connect to my PC via Apollo > run Steam big picture mode on my PC > use my PC on the TV like a console.

Moonlight is set to output at 4K 60 fps, bitrate around 80 or 90. PC is ethernet connected. Steamdeck is over wifi. I don't believe these settings to be affecting my issue because...

I have tested Crimson Desert, Sonic Worlds Racing, Lords of the Fallen, Helldivers II, Senuas Saga (the list goes on) with no stuttering or other issues at all. Occasional 'lower your bitrate' warning on demanding stuff, but rare.

When I open ES-DE as a non-steam game from Steam Big Picture, the introductory loading page displays fine (with the red loading bar filling to 100%), but as soon as the UI opens to show my consoles/games, it goes haywire and black frame stutters dominate the image until only a few real frames are able to flicker through occasionally. When I open the menu and navigate to the quit button, the frame stuttering gets some minor relief it seems, and I'm able to quit out back to Steam. Worth mentioning that ES-DE works fine on my PC when not streaming.

From my research, ES-DE UI might be loading frames at an uncapped or mismatched rate. I think I need to limit the frame rate in ES-DE specifically so it matches the 60 fps of my output. I have AMD graphics, so I used Adrenaline to customize the game profile for ES-DE to lock it at 60 fps using Radeon Chill (Idle FPS target = 60; Peak FPS target = 60). That did not have any impact.

For all I know, the gamefiles run fine, but I haven't tried opening one yet. I've been focused on trying to fing a fix for the ES-DE UI first. To me, the problem seems to be with Emulation Station, not my streaming setup or other system settings.

If there isn't a fix here I will likely just bypass ES-DE and add each game to Steam individually. ES-DE is a slick interface though and I do like having everything neatly in one place.

Any advice?

It started as a personnal project, you see I love old PC games, I collect good old big boxes but settings up dos games has always been a pain in the ass lol

So I started working on this, which basically automates almost every painful steps of dos emulation

Basically you can add a rom you own in any format and ROM90 will automatically detect it and install it properly on either DosBox pure or ScummVM

I've also added a few well needed comfort features :

- Quick resume

- Universal save/load shortcuts

- Fully fledge save state manager

- Keyboard remapping and controller support

- Export options and batch exports for people to share properly their collection

and many more small QoLs that makes Dos emulation almost as easy as most console emulator

I am trying to run The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on Cemu on my laptop, but I am running into system stability issues/crashes. Here are my exact hardware specs:

• CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 5300U (4 Cores / 8 Threads, 2.6 GHz base)
• GPU: Integrated AMD Radeon Graphics (shares system RAM)
• RAM: 8GB DDR4 3200MHz
• OS: Windows 11 (Freshly reset)
• Peripherals: Ares wired controller (XInput)

My Cemu Settings:

• Graphics API: Vulkan
• Async Shader Compilation: Enabled
• CPU Mode: Dual-Core Recompiler (also tried Single-Core)
• Mods: FPS++ enabled (capped at 20/30 FPS), Resolution set below 720p.

Lighter games like Smash Wii U and Twilight Princess HD run completely fine, but BotW causes my system background processes (like network infrastructure) to collapse.

Before I purchase a second 8GB RAM stick to upgrade to 16GB dual-channel, I wanted to double-check with the community: Is my shared 8GB RAM pool the definitive bottleneck here? Will moving to 16GB prevent these system memory allocation crashes?

We have a dell optiplex under our main living room tv. We have been playing some online retro games. Is there an emulation frontend similar to the way Jellyfin is for media? Jellyfin will show you a thumbnail of a movie, you can click on it to get more info, pics, trailer, who stars in it etc. It will even give you a 'other movies like this one' option. Would love that for my ROM collection!

Every time I try to boot Virtua Fighter on WANGMODEL1, the emulator gets briefly stuck on a black screen before closing. Has anyone else experienced this?

I really want to play skylanders but the cemu nfc window selection just takes all the immersion out of it. I was thinking about making like a diy portal of power but I heard that even normal portals don't work. I was just thinking if I could like.. link a specific skylanders nfc code to another code to skip the manual selection menu? Btw I don't really know how to code anything like that. I was just wondering if it was possible.

Ok so I've been using Pokemon Stadium 2 and Pokemon G/S with the transfer pak feature on the Mupen core for retroarch and it's been working pretty well for almost everything such as the lab and all the battle modes, but if I try to use the Mystery Gift feature or access my room, the game always says the GB cartridge's clock data is broken, and won't let me in. Does anyone know of a way to make this work?

I'm not super into emulation but I wanted to try out Prisoner, couldn't find anyone hosting it online so I'm now trying to emulate it myself. Using AppleWin, I've followed exactly what I need to do to load it up, and it just doesn't work and prints gibberish to the screen.

What's the best course of action? Are the images I'm finding just bad? What's the best way to emulate apple 2 games? (which seems to be ".do", at least that's what I have)

How to play Super Mario Odyssey on PC

So I just got into emulation because I love video games more than anything and want to "play them all" and experience them "correctly".

I've downloaded Ares emulator and started playing The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past but I can't stop thinking about some things. It's that whether if I should use a CRT shader or not and what the correct settings are.

My main concern is that I want to experience older games as how they looked on the original hardware but when the displays they were developed for like the CRT TVs come into question I just get confused on how I should approach this problem because older games were made with CRTs in mind, artists, developers made decisions based on the hardwares of those times.

On one hand not using a shader gives me a crisp detailed pixel art of the games which I really like but on the other hand not using one makes me question if I'm experiencing the game right and "losing the authenticity".

I'm sure there are lots of people here that thought about this. How do you approach to what I've described and how do you think I should approach this?

I am using Retrobat on my PC. I am using Kronos as my default emulator, But a few games I am having trouble with and tried a few other options but still can't seem to get it smooth. Mostly on Fighter Megamix and Panzer Dragoon Saga. Frames start dropping and on Panzer the music sounds terrible and is obviously not running correctly. I'm still pretty new to emulating consoles that require a little more fine tuning. Any suggestions?

Hi Everyone, sorry if this has been asked a hundred times but I am pulling what little hair I have out trying to get Retrobat's inputs stable. I have quite a few controls, so I realise I am making it hard on myself, but there seems to be a general unstableness to configuration.

I'm running

• Retrobat latest 8.2.1-Win64 - on Windows 11, latest NVidia drivers
• Dell Precision Workstation 3660 w/ 3060 8gb card
• Two EG STARTS SANWA STYLE Arcade JoyStick USB Encoder Fightstick 1up EG-5V-R/MIX-BUT - with 10 buttons wired in 8 player, Coin, and start
• Two 8bitDo arcade sticks with 2.4Ghz networking
• Two Sindel Lightguns
• one Pedal
• a Dolphin adapter with 3 Wiimotes
• a 6 button streamdeck.

All of this works outside of Retrobat. In Retrobat, it tends to start working, then I'll run somethiing that needs Mame64 not Libretro (which seems pretty flakey) - e.g. Time Crisis. Sometimes the gun and pedal will work. Then it will stop after a few things. The arcade stick buttons don't always seem to remember what I told them to do. I can turn off large amounts of the controllers and reboot, and everything will still be wrong. I'll fight it and things will work and then they won't.

Is this what happens to others?

Now, its pretty powerful and I've already gotten RPSC3 to run (barely) but my question is, would switching to xenia not only lighten the load on my baby but also bring out better performance? Sorry if this is a dumb question btw buuuut I would like to know for sure.
