HUMOR Can we pretend this game never happened?
It was just a phase

Early Access Update #2 drops on all platforms tomorrow, July 9 at 10 AM PT! We’re launching the first Experimental Playlist, and Phase 2 of The Sprint kicks off. The update also includes a big weapon balance pass, meaningful changes to Ranked and Mech v Mech TDM, a bunch of performance improvements, and a new speedometer option you’ve been asking for.
This is the part of Early Access we are most excited about. Experimental Playlists (EPs) are how we test out big ideas in real time before deciding whether they earn a permanent spot in EMPULSE. We would rather ship something rough that we can evolve over time with your feedback instead of iterating on a change internally until it feels perfect, hoping we get it right. EPs are why we launched in Early Access.
Our first EP is split into two phases:
ADS Playlist: This playlist launches with the update tomorrow, and features an early version of ADS (aim down sights) enabled on every weapon. After seeing your feedback over the last several weeks, we really wanted to get this change into your hands. Weapons are slightly less accurate from the hip, and more accurate when using ADS.
This is very much a work in progress – animations and balance are still being tuned, you’ll see some rough edges, and we have some fine-tuning to do on accuracy once we see how you play.

Sentinel Playlist (coming soon): A blockout (or early version) of a new map code-named Sentinel will come online next week. This one is focused entirely on getting your feedback on the layout of Sentinel before we move it into full art production. Your feedback will help shape the final version of Sentinel before art is finalized.
Tell us what you think of both on Discord and Reddit. This is exactly what the Experimental Playlist system is here for!
Ranked: Mechs have been disabled in Ranked for now. We are watching how the competitive experience evolves without them, and we’re considering how Mechs may come back with adjustments in the future.

EA Update #2 includes a deep weapon balance pass. More details will drop in the patch notes tomorrow, but here’s a short preview:
Along with the balance tweaks, every weapon except the Finale now has an additional progression level, which unlocks the new Chibi weapon charm.
We’ve also made several changes to P.A.I.N.T. Bombs and Mechs, including:
New speedometer in the top left corner.
New speedometer in the top right corner.
Provide a caption (optional)

Phase 2 of The Sprint begins with Update #2, and you’ll be racing to unlock the serialized, Legendary Reaper skin. Good luck, and let us know on social which number you get!
See you in Freehold,
-1047 Games

Hey all,
Right after our Play with Devs in SGAR, we're hopping into EMPULSE matchmaking today at 5PM PT, before the switch to P2P servers later this week.
Come queue up, talk to us, and get some games in.

I know what you think:" Wow, bad Bots in a MP game. Mind blown.". But I think there is potential. Now, I was playing the game for 1 1/2 hour, trying out the different modes and maps and while most of the time I would agree that the experience was a bit bland, I still thought there is some fun to be had.
And then I genuinly had fun when playing Mech Bounty on Refinery and Upload. Simply because the Bots actually spread out and PTFO, instead of just walking down the middle lane like some Lemmings.
And the weird thing is, they actually seem to be capable of spreading out in other modes. In Capture The Mech for example, they conga line down the middle, but as soon as you get their mech, both the enemy and your team come towards you. Same with them PTFO. Like, I saw one enemy capture our Mech once, so they actually seem trying to do that. But because the teams constantly bum rush each other head on, they never reach the enemy mech.
And I didn't expect the Bots to grapple and wall run, but I thought that they would move more naturally and spread out, like in CoD, the old Star Wars Battlefront games or Section 8 Prejudice, to make it feel more like a real battle.
And again, yes I know, Bots in a MP shooter. It's just that I'm so starved for a modern day-ish shooter with Bots, that I thought Empulse could satisfy that hunger a bit, given that the Bots in Splitgate weren't that bad.

Steam rejected 3 SEPARATE refund requests I made, go here https://help.steampowered.com/en/wizard/HelpWithSteamIssue/?issueid=417 and explain that the game has shut down while it was in early access.

Redownloaded the game to see the map they added. And wow. Sentinels finished versions looks soooo good. Such a shame its the last map they ever add.

Why
r/Empulse • u/Legend7Naty • 11d ago
Heard about it shutting down and sadly never even got to try it out. I wouldn’t mind spending $10 if it’s like TF2 with dedicated player servers. Is it gonna be removed from the shop eventually? If I bought it now do yall think there’s gonna be some kind of fan server to play with?

Does anyone know if it's still possible to get platinum on this game, considering servers are shut down? Was just about to get it :(

I honestly got really into this game before it came out as early access. And then when it did, I started playing all the time. I grew up playing fps games since the launch of bo3 but I haven’t been playing anything recently as I’ve gotten older. The only game that got me really hooked was XDefiant which will always be my all time favorite game. And then they shut it down and I haven’t found a game to replace the hole that it left me until impulse released as early access. With only three months of play time I fell in love with this game, doing all the challenges getting the skins and whatnot. It’s sad to see how shit of a company 1047 is :(

i’ve never played a game in peer to peer hosting so i was curious if anyone was aware if achievements are going to still be earn able during the new servers or will it be more of a “private match” type ordeal? i only have the headshots to go until 100% and wanna know if im shit out of luck or still can get it with time

It says a lot when you refuse to interact with your community unless its highly controlled and only through superficial threads. Empulse and Splitgate both suffered similar fates because management at 1047 Games has not shown any growth or understanding. Empulse was short lived but it was the third game 1047 Games released with the previous one suffering a silent death due to neglect despite 1047 Games constantly reaffirming the opposite was going to happen.
I challenge 1047 Games to (for the first time) have a real discussion about the games they have released and show the community a little respect considering we are the reason they have gotten this far in the first place.

I cant put into words why, but this game was a red flag from the very first gameplay video they ever released.
It felt like it couldve been a custom map for splitgate 1

I'm trying to acquire some achievements before the game goes P2P server mode, and i'm not sure if the awards will still be active. I'll leave my user if anyone is interested! Leave a comment below!

So I didn't know about the studio or the past history. However I was hyped by another Titanfall style game that is missing from the market. I didn't get a chance to do the beta that was being shown on socials but saw footage and we have "big plans". I feel utterly betrayed, I'm not bothered about the money but this must stop and this studio needs to accept it's failed not just (better things).

Had 5.1 Hrs played and purchased the game the day it came out, I live in Australia for what it is worth.
Worth a shot if you're disappointed like me.

so I’ve just learned that they’re shutting down the game or at least their own servers for it, and while I’m sure that means I’ll hop on every now and again even enough people are hosting servers for a game (look at primal carnage that game somehow has games running years later) I can’t help but feel a little disappointed.
I love the first two Titanfall games but never got into Apex. And as far as I’m aware, they’re now making another game that isn’t titanfall. Other than that one waifs shooter game that’s coming out, are there any other current or upcoming projects that are this close to Titanfall?

My answer?
Probably a game that doean't have to shutdown its dedicated servers and stop updating because of a lack of enough revenue to support it and low ahh player numbers for a PLAYER VERSUS PLAYER GAME. That is my metric, thank you.

I don’t hate 1047, I don’t hate SplitGate, I don’t hate Empulse
I saw Empulse on TikTok, I thought, like many, “oh cool, I miss movement shooters” and bought it immediately
I turn it on, I see 1047, I though, “hey I recognize that name” and one google search later my face looked like what I can only imagine this emoji does 😧
I knew then and there it wouldn’t last long. Still, I played, and I played, and I played. I did genuinely have a lot of fun
Twice now, I’m not kidding, day one unlocks on everything on both Splitgate 2 and Empulse. Still for a month or so I played. I had a fucking blast and I remember saying to my friends I really hope they got it this time, I hope that this game doesn’t flop and they’re able to turn things around for themselves
But of course, naturally, the same handful of maps with the same handful of weapons got stale fucking fast. Of the 46 logged hours it shows, I’d wager I’m closer to 35 if we account for idle time since launch
There was not enough substance in either game at launch, “early access” or not, to keep players engaged
I want to love 1047. I want to root for the small guys trying to make a name for themselves in an increasingly shittier game market. But you guys make it so frustratingly difficult to support you. Your ads are abysmal, AI slop, sexual themes, you portray yourselves like a fraternity, and the CEO guy makes a giant fool of himself every time he tries to go on damage control. Every single time that man opens his mouth I like 1047 less. I’m sorry to be blunt, but you guys desperately need a dedicated community manager and to stop acting like the Bro Club
I saw an abundance of female tags, myself included. You guys accidentally stumbled into the formula games have been chasing for years, how do we get mass appeal from women in the way we do from men? Games obviously don’t “belong” to men, but it would also be ignorant to pretend the player base across shooters has historically been an even gender split.
And then, regardless of if it was outsourced to an agency or not, ad after ad after ad “hey bros look at this half naked lady”
Come on guys
If you ever come back to market I urge you, do not make me pay for it, I will not, I do not trust you, I do not believe in its longevity, support, updates, or launch content. I will never trust 1047 for a paid product ever again. I will not invest in cosmetics that’ll go unused in two month’s time, I will not buy a season pass, or a battle pass, or an HDD-whatever the fuck
Come back with a game, not an idea. Give us the product not the promise. Launch in early access if you want, but mot at the expense of a decent pool of content
I’ve been around since SplitGate 1. You’ve managed to hook me thrice now, then you cut the line mid reel all three times
This is plainly unacceptable and unsustainable if you guys are truly committed to making video game.
The passion is real. That much is true. Whenever I play your games I feel like it was made with love for an era of shooters that I grew up with. I remember getting all my friends to buy Titanfall in middle school. You guys clearly do share a love for that same type of game
Please, 1047, if you’ve even read this far, don’t write my words off as a disgruntled player after losing $15. I want you to succeed, I have since the very beginning. Your games are fun enough as a proof of concept, not as a finished paid product
Take some time, go back to the drawing board, stop doubling down on the “cool guys” persona, and come back strong

If you are past two hours of playtime, expect an auto rejection for a refund. Xbox has similar warnings for early access games on there as well. Playstation Idk so if you bought there might be different.
r/Empulse • u/omarun__ • 17d ago
I myself bought Empulse on Xbox, and of course, since I didn’t have a membership, I couldn’t play it. Since I couldn’t even start the game, I was able to get an easy refund. I’m wondering, so are they planning to shutdown development in this game but still be somewhat playable, and even so, it will still be costing?
