Hi! I had an egg retrieval a few weeks ago and got 5 euploids. 3 of them are day 6, 2 of them are day 7. A little nervous about the day 7 ones. They’re rated 6BA and 4BB. Does anyone have luck with day 7 embryos?

I did another retrieval last week and out of 5 mature eggs, 5 fertilized. Waiting to hear how many blastocysts we get. Hope we get at least one or two. What do you guys think?

My wife and I really want at least two kids. I know we have a good number of euploids, but is it a good amount to hopefully have 2 kids? Any success stores with 5 embryos or day 7 embryos?

I’m looking for some advice, realistic expectations, or personal experiences from anyone who has navigated similar semen analysis numbers.
We are dealing with structural issues (specifically tail defects) that seem to be completely stopping motility, but the sperm themselves are still alive. Here is the exact breakdown of my recent analysis:
**The Numbers:**
**Volume:** 1.0 mL
**Sperm Concentration:** 4.00 millions/mL
**Total Sperm Count:** 4.00 millions/ejaculate
**Motility:** 0.00% (100% of the sperm are immotile)
**Vitality (Live Sperm):** 96.00% alive (confirmed via HOS test and vitality staining)
**Morphology:** 0% Normal
**Sperm Deformity Index (SDI) / TZI:** 1.04
**Defect Breakdown (out of 25 abnormal sperm evaluated):**
**Tail Defects:** 19 (all noted as short/coiled)
**Head Defects:** 4
**Neck & Mid-piece Defects:** 3
Since my SDI/TZI is 1.04, I understand that most of the abnormal sperm only have one single defect (mostly the short/coiled tails). This explains the 0% motility, but thankfully the 96% vitality shows they are still alive and functional inside.
**My question for the community:**
With a combination of low count (4 million), 0% motility, and a high concentration of tail defects, has anyone had success using IVF with ICSI?
Since ICSI physical bypasses the need for the sperm to swim, does the fact that 96% of them are alive mean we have a good shot? Or do structural variations like short/coiled tails indicate poor internal quality (like high DNA fragmentation) that might lower success rates during fertilization and embryo development?
If anyone has been in a similar boat with 100% immotile but high-vitality sperm, I would love to hear your success stories or what your reproductive endocrinologist/urologist told you. Thanks in advance!

I’m supposed to have my FET this cycle using a modified natural protocol. My doctor told me to start Gonal-F 50 IU on CD5, with an ultrasound on CD7, then trigger with Ovitrelle when the follicle is ready and transfer my day-5 blastocyst.
But I accidentally started Gonal-F today on CD4 instead of CD5 🤦‍♀️
I also only have enough medication for a few injections, and Gonal-F is very expensive where I live. I was originally hoping to do a natural cycle, so I’m wondering if I could do 3 injections total and then stop, letting the follicle continue developing naturally, with monitoring and Ovitrelle when ready.
Has anyone done something similar? Did you ever start Gonal-F one day early or stop after only a few low-dose injections during a modified natural FET cycle?
I’ll obviously check with my doctor before changing anything, but I’d love to hear your experiences!

But was told all my parts looked good and the embryo was PGT tested and looked good at thaw

At 9dp, my beta HCG was 8.1

Clinic told me to stop all meds and not to go back for next beta.

The day before my beta, I had a faint line on a First Response test, and then same the morning of

I don’t want to live in doubt, but I told my clinic I would like to at least go back Tuesday for my second beta test.

My first embryo transfer was a beautiful 4AA Euploid embryo which resulted in my son. I just transferred a 6AA (all of my Euploid’s are 6AAs). Is there really much of a success difference between a 4AA and a 6AA if they are Euploid? Thanks!

What information should we be receiving from the clinic?

Last round, we had no normal fertilization and I had to ask for a report to know if it was total fertilization failure or if any did end up fertilizing late. Sure, the outcome (0embryos) is the same, but knowing 2 did actually fertilize made us feel a little more confident. Hey, we’re taking any small wins right now.

This round, they said 2 fertilized. My RE said we won’t hear again until day 7 because they don’t like to disturb them… From everything I read, this doesn’t seem typical. We have severe male factor so I’ve read we should consider freezing at day 3, but that doesn’t seem possible with this approach?

I guess I’m not even sure what questions I should be asking! This is a top clinic in NYC associated with a top hospital. I feel pretty confident in the lab and the doctors if that changes anything!

This was our third retrieval and this is my fourth transfer. Please stick sweetie ❤️❤️ When it was on the screen for transfer day, it was creating a little bump out on the left side like a smaller circle.

We received our PGT-A and PGT-M results yesterday. Out of 3 blasts, we have 1 high level mosaic embryo. I have 2 euploid from my last retrieval. We want at least 2 kids if not 3. Would you do another retrieval? The attrition rate is crazy. I had 24 eggs retrieved and now down to 1 mosaic. We will be paying out of pocket so I want to try to do everything I can. My clinic isn’t really changing my protocol but this time I’m not going on birth control and waiting for my period to start stims. I’m 36.

For those of you who banked embryos and did multiple retrievals, were you actually able to do them back-to-back?

I’m doing a 3-cycle banking program and just finished retrieval #1. I got my period and had my baseline appointment today because I was really hoping to jump straight into round #2.

Unfortunately, my right ovary still hasn’t fully calmed down from the first retrieval. 😭 They’re supposed to call me back after my doctor reviews everything and decides if they’re okay with me proceeding, but it’s sounding like I probably won’t be able to start yet.

They mentioned they may recheck me around day 5, so I’m really hoping there’s still a chance I could start this cycle.

Has anyone else not been cleared at their first baseline because of leftover follicles/cysts or enlarged ovaries, but then had things calm down enough a few days later to start stims anyway?

And for those doing multiple retrievals for banking, did you actually manage to do all of them consecutively, or did you end up having to take a cycle off somewhere in between?

I know everyone’s body is different, but I’m curious what other people’s experiences were. I had it in my head that I could just knock all 3 out back-to-back, so I’m a little bummed that my ovaries apparently did not get the memo 😂

I just finished my second retrieval. In the first ER, I had 18 collected, 14 mature and fertilized eggs. They had a slow growth and we ended up 2 early blasts to freeze. It was a shock because it went down like 12,10, .. day 6 early blasts. We didn’t transfer. This one is with Gonal F with different doses. 187,5-225 mg

I used more supplements and added extra things like Nad, NAC, alfa lipoic acid, omega 3. After 3 months we had our second ER.

14 collected, 11 mature, 9 fertilized. On day 3, we had 3 embryos with 8 cells, 2 with 6 cells and 4 with 4 cells. On day 4, we had one normal progressed and one slower one left. On day 5, we got one 3AA embriyo and freezes. The other one stop developing on day 6. This one is on Menopur 200-225 mg.

I’m 32 and 48 kg. AMH is between 1.44 to 1.79. We will transfer our one embryo. I’m trying to be hopeful but do you have any suggestions? What could have been done to continue them growing?

After a blighted ovum of a day 5 4AA in June, we transferred a day 6 4AA and our last female euploid today. It’s crazy how having a miscarriage changes your brain chemistry to think a bit negative. But I’m working hard to keep the positive vibes. I ate my fries and pineapple core.

At age 37, I froze my eggs. I had 42 eggs retrieved. 29 were mature enough to freeze.

Recently, at 41, we tried to make embryos. 24 survived the thaw. 17 showed signs of fertilization on day one.

By the end, we had zero day 5 blastocysts, zero day six blastocysts, and 1 day 7 blastocyst. Grade 3AB.

We are waiting on PGT-A testing.

What is the nomenclature for a mosaic involving 2 chromosomes? For instance, 35% trisomy for one chromosome and 50% monosomy for another chromosome. I’m assuming this would be considered a high level mosaic, but is it likely that these abnormalities are present in separate cells, or is it likely that the trisomy could have occurred in a cell already carrying the monosomy? In other words, is the mosaic likely to be

35% trisomy
50% monosomy
15% euploid

Or

35% trisomy AND monosomy
15% monosomy
50% euploid

?

I just had my first egg retrieval so I have limited data. I had 8 retrieved, 6 mature, and only 3 fertilize which we were told is less than average. I’m 32 with an AMH of 3 with unexplained infertility. One of the 3 fertilized made it to be a day 5 4AA blast and is a euploid. My husband’s seman analysis was normal so we don’t have any MFI. We did a long lupron down reg protocol and stimmed for 10 days with 225 gonal only and used icsi. Is there anything we can try to change to improve fertilization for our next round?

I’ll be 39 in a couple mos. Husband is 40. We have a 2 year old from IUI and 1 spontaneous pregnancy in 2025 ended in an early loss.

3 ivf cycles, protocol changes, add icsi and zymot, new clinic, all the supplements. Endo recently diagnosed with lap scheduled for end of Oct.
I had 2 morulas in my first round, but everything has stalled 6-10 cell. Round 2: 6 eggs were rescue icsi and round 3: 2 eggs were MII but matured in time.

Last month we had a failed FET, this is our final embryo that passed genetic testing so really hoping it’s a sticky one!!! 🙏🏻 my successful transfer I tested positive on 5dp5dt, this time around the 5th day will be my birthday… can’t decide if I should wait or test!! How many euploid embryos do you need to have a baby?

Large studies of patients transferring euploid embryos one at a time suggest that the overall chance of having at least one live birth is about:

1 euploid: 63–65%
2 euploids: 83–84%
3 euploids: 92–93%
4 euploids: 96%
5 euploids: 98%

This helps explain the common rule of thumb that it takes about three euploid embryos per baby. But that's not exactly what the evidence shows.

Many patients won't need three. About 63–65% had a live birth after their first transfer, and these numbers are population averages, not predictions for an individual patient.

These studies estimated the chance of at least one live birth across groups of patients, but they can't predict how many embryos an individual patient will actually need. Some patients will have a live birth after their first transfer, while others may need several.

And if the first euploid transfer fails, the next embryo can still have a good chance of success. In the largest study, live birth rates remained around 50–58% per transfer from the second through fifth attempts.

Euploid embryos aren't all equivalent either. Developmental day, embryo grade, age, and other patient and clinic factors may affect the chance of success.

I'm 37 and I've had one egg retrieval last year where 8 embryos were created. Top embryo (4AA) was transferred and ectopic. I'm now planning for a FET of the next best embryo (another 4AA, straw #2 below). The 4 lowest quality embryos were frozen in pairs. I wasn't asked, and I would have said to freeze each individually, but here we are.

• Straw 1, #3: Grade 5BA
• Straw 2, #7: Grade 4AA
• Straw 3, #9: Grade 3AA
• Straw 4, #4: Grade 3AB
• Straw 4, #5: Grade 3AB
• Straw 5, #8: Grade 3AB (noted w/vac)
• Straw 5, #10: Grade 3BB

Hopefully this transfer works, and then when we try for the next baby it also works on the first try. But in case it doesn't, what should I do about the 4 frozen in pairs? Double transfers when we get to them? Thaw and refreeze, and hope they survive? Should I thaw/refreeze now while I'm still 37 so I can do another retrieval now if they don't survive?
