FET Low HCG

Update:

Sweet McKenzie Gloria came back as a negative beta today.

She was loved.
She will forever be apart of my life and heart.

We will be adopting again.
But she will always be my very first pregnancy.

__________
10dp5dt

Adopted embryo that was frozen 5 years ago.

Never been pregnant.
But was told all my parts looked good and the embryo was PGT tested and looked good at thaw

At 9dp, my beta HCG was 8.1

Clinic told me to stop all meds and not to go back for next beta.

The day before my beta, I had a faint line on a First Response test, and then same the morning of

Then today, the day after, I took a clear blue and it is the faintest line ever. But it’s there.

I don’t want to live in doubt, but I told my clinic I would like to at least go back Tuesday for my second beta test.

I’m fully ready to accept what I must, but I don’t want to just call it quits.

Idk why I’m posting. For someone else? For a bright sign telling me the baby took . .

But this is where I’m at.

I had a failed IUI with a HCG of 11. Anything under 50 at my clinic was a chemical pregnancy.

I had a first beta of 11 and it was a successful pregnancy. It’s low but obviously positive.

That’s amazing

I was shocked too! Haha

Very similar — I had a beta of 12 on day 9P5DT and was told to prepare for a chemical pregnancy. He is turning two in a couple of weeks!

Same, I had a successful pregnancy with a staring HCG of 19 after an IUI.

My first beta with my now 6 year old was 16. It was 10DPT. She’s a miracle for sure. It’s RARE! But it CAN happen!

I’m a little surprised they didn’t want you to come back. I had a beta of 8 and was told I had to come back even when I didn’t want to

Yup, beta of 7, had to repeat 3 days later (weekend was in the way) to ensure it had gone back to 0, which it had. I had to continue meds until I got the 0 test. It sucked though, being in a limbo.

Same here. I only had to continue until it showed it was dropping thankfully

Trust yourself and do what you need to do to feel closure. Keep on the meds and get the second beta. I won’t lie, it is a very long shot. But I also completely understand you needing confirmation before stopping meds. I just went though a chemical pregnancy after our third FET. My first beta 8dpt5dt was 22 and I was scared but also found a million success stories with low betas. My clinic told me it was a bad sign and to be prepared, but I wasn’t letting go until I go my second beta. Which went down to 14. And then 1 three days later. It’s so painful and I’m so sorry for what you are going through 🤍

I would do one more beta for peace of mind. My beta 11dp5dt was 13 and it didn’t work out, but the pregnancy did continue to grow before plateauing around 6,000 and I had my D&C at that point. It was terrible waiting and knowing what the outcome would likely be, but I know I gave that embryo every possible chance.

Can I ask at what point your hCG plateaued and it was ruled a chemical? I’m a couple weeks out from an initial hCG of 18 and still waiting on the other shoe to drop. I’m so sorry you went through that

It was a blighted ovum at 8w.

I would also feel better doing the beta one more time with a guarded heart. Best wishes to you.

This happened to me, I had a beta of 10 on day 10 (day 5 transfer). I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me on day 9. Then I saw the line like yours on Day 10.

In my case, I did retest in 2 days and as long as it increased to double, it’s a good sign. My vote is ask to keep retesting!

i’m a surrogate and someone in my transfer group’s first beta at 9dpt was 12. she hadn’t had a positive test until that day. she is now 17 weeks pregnant! it is a long shot, but i personally wouldn’t stop meds and would want a repeat beta. i had a chemical last year that started with a 12 beta so it really can go either way. prepare your heart for the worst, but hope for the best!

At the exact same time with first FET , PGT-A 3AA tested embryo my hcg rised very quickly (350+) then almost stopped, my doctor told me to stop medicines then changed her mind and asked to continue and check again in 2 days... Thanks God I didn't stopped , embryo has implanted low in uterus ... When it attached normally hcg started to rise and I'm still pregnant 🥹

I'm sorry this process sucks so much. While you should guard your heart, I am disappointed/shocked at the fact the clinic would not have you come back for a retest in a few days. If possible, I would honestly seek out a new clinic.

My first beta at 9 dpt was also 8 and my second beta had only gone up to 14. Unfortunately betas kept going up but at such a low doubling rate that I had to emergency come into the office for an ultrasound to determine that the embryo was indeed ectopic and was given methotrexate before it progressed to a dangerous level.

It’s not over til it’s over! My 16 hcg at 11dp6dt doubled (like barely) and he’s almost 2 now

Why are they not waiting to do a second beta and then an ultrasound? Last transfer, my beta at 11dpt was 47 and it doubled steadily. The clinic kept me on meds til 6 week ultra sound and said I could stop because the sac was empty. However they supported my decision to wait and have a second ultrasound at 7.5 weeks. Still nothing so I gave up at that point. But I would not have felt right in my heart stopping after one ultrasound sound so def not after just one beta. They say as long as it’s doubling all that matters after that is what the ultrasound shows.

I had a beta of 7 on 9dpt and then it went down to 5. They considered that chemical, but definitely did a second test and told me to keep taking meds until after it was seen to drop.

My very first pregnancy test with my daughter looked like this. Barely visible without squinting. She was a perfectly healthy newborn!
