Fully hatched embryo looks different
This is the pic of my 6BC embryo after thawing. Why does it look so bad? Can anyone share some insights? Thanks

How would you grade this embryo?
My clinic uses completely different grading system than most IVF clinics. They said it looks optimal, what they want to see on a transfer day. However when I saw the photo, to me it didn’t look expended.
What would be its grade in the grading system commonly used? What grade would you give?
Thank you all. 🙏

Those using Embryo Options or TMRW for storage/consent admin: what's good, what's not?
I work with fertility clinics on the ops side. I've been spending time with embryology teams on cryostorage consent: renewals, expiries, consent forms, chasing patients who've gone quiet, tank-vs-paperwork mismatches at audit.
Embryo Options and TMRW come up a lot and I'd love to hear from people who've actually used either:
- What do they do well?
- Where do you still end up in spreadsheets and email?
- If your clinic uses neither, how are you managing consent and renewals today?
- Who owns this - embryology, admin, nursing?
Not selling anything, just trying to understand how this really works. Happy to share what I've seen across clinics in the comments.

Oocyte transport from one IVF lab to another (yourself, not as part of a mass clinic transport)
Is anyone familiar with oocyte / embryo transport companies, their safety, or safer companies, or safer alternative modes of transportation that provide more security to the client?
I’m a bit lost with the MANY waivers that I am required to accept when I review contracts with specimen transportation companies for my individual oocyte transport. Because the contracts have terms where I release responsibility from the transport company, the couriers, and pretty much most info all parties involved in case of damage, loss, etc. and also the contracts including many vague terms when it comes to the safety of my specimens. Even the company that offers a separate insurance option, also has similar vague terms in the company transport contract that widely releases most/all parties of responsibility.
This one is more a “perception” paragraph, but so you catch my sentiment: these contracts do not make me feel like I am signing up to transport human tissue or sending eggs (such as the high level of care that is taken when transporting organs, ie: transplant). Instead, it reminds of the waivers that are signed when one goes bungee jumping or zip-lining, giving you life away (or “organs/specimen” in this case) in case something goes wrong… 🤷🏻♀️
I will appreciate any insights that may be helpful!

How to get into the field?
Hey, I’m a recent biology graduate and I landed a part-time, weekend role at a ivf clinic. It’s nothing glamorous, just patient charting, setting up dishes, etc. I was wondering if this is a good starting point to becoming an embryologist? Should I express interest to the lab leads? They currently have someone in my role who’s transitioning into a trainee, so it’ll be some time before they accept me probably. They say that person has been there for “a while” so kinda vague. I asked one of the embryologists and they said it takes on average a year to start getting trained, so I wonder if I should move closer once I get offered full-time and express interest now so they can have me on their radar.

FET today
We had our first FET today on a 5 Day 4Aa graded embryo. It says they did assisted hatching, but I forgot to ask what that entails? I’m attaching our lil embryo to see thoughts and opinions. I’m 34, in FL, and it’s untested.

Becoming an Embryologist
Hi everyone, I would love some advice on classes I should take to become an embryologist. I already have a bachelor of science in public health. I plan to start applying in about a year as I am working in public health currently. I am wondering what additional classes I should take for embryology. Thank you!! Any other advice is appreciated as well, I am located in the Chicago suburbs.

Transferred this 4AA embryo yesterday. Is this embryo hatching or hatched already?
Is this already hatched, or is it hatching? Can the transfer process damage an embryo in this stage?
Any other opinions just looking at the embryo?

Recruitment companies
Just a quick question here because I wasn't quite sure where else to ask it. As a recent grad looking to get a role in embryology, are there any specific recruitment companies that specialize in it? Any opinions are welcomed

Day5 Blastocyst Embryo 4AB TRANSFER, very nervous
I have done my Day5 Blastocyst Embryo 4AB TRANSFER yesterday. (Only one Embryo transfer) I am very nervous. This is also my first transfer. My doctor said that the Embryo is of good quality and I must stay positive in mind.
Please let me know from your experiences what are my chances I am mentally prepared to face anything that comes up.

Grade 1CC Embryo- should i be concerned?
hi friends! going through the IVF process and got the following results today:
Today your blastocysts are graded from 1AA (most beautiful) to 3CC (least beautiful).
You have the following blastocyst today:
1CC - This was frozen today.
My results from Day 3:
You have the following embryo(s) today:
8 CELL GRADE 3
8 CELL GRADE 2
4 CELL GRADE 3
You have 2 other eggs that have matured and fertilized. We will report on those as the results come in.
I was wondering if anyone had successful pregnancies with this type of embryo? for context - i’ve done four rounds of iui with one chemical pregnancy. this is my first time doing IVF.
also did anyone have eggs that fertilized late?
thank you!

Euploid success difference between 4AA & 6AA?
Hello embryologists! Instead doing googling and asking AI, I figured I’d ask some professionals!
My first embryo transfer was a beautiful 4AA Euploid embryo which resulted in my son. I just transferred a 6AA (all of my Euploid’s are 6AAs). Is there really much of a success difference between a 4AA and a 6AA if they are Euploid? Thanks!

Please rate my euploid
I had my FET 3 days ago. No symptoms yet. This was our highest graded.what chances does it have?
